I don’t know whether posting quotations as I usually do turns into looking like gibberish but I thought maybe if at least one individual found them insightful then it’s worth my while… Marcel Proust: “Do not be afraid to go too far, for the truth lies beyond.” Le Guin:”….But by remembering [the tale], he’d made the story his, and in so far as I have remembered it, it is mine, and now if you like it, it’s yours.” Denise Chong (Canadian author) “I am cheered, because that’s the unconscious ambition of writing, to create truth by creating art that illuminates the human condition.” Albert Einstein: “The pursuit of truth and beauty is a sphere of activity in which we are permitted to remain children all our lives.” Ghandi: “Truth stands, even if there be no public support. It is self-sustained. “

Hiiiii EA!!!! So glad to see you back at the cyber sandbox. I hope you’ve been able to enjoy some of the nice sunshine :) Part of the problem is “truth” is a matter of one’s perception. What may appear to be true (even those grounded in facts and theories) is constrained to a particular context or frame of mind. There are very few fundamental truths and even those could be viewed as taken for granted truths (For instance, “The truth can be made up if you know how”). Power and authority have such influential impact that at times they virtually appear to be invisible until one is able to start questioning why things are the way they are. Who said this was so? etc. In the words of Foucault: “Knowledge may be power. But power is knowledge.” Possibly one of the real “truths” points to those in power mainly lack any sense of empathy or any sincere commitment to bettering humanity. It’s a foreign concept to them. Because in truth you find empathy to change and look at the world from an alternative perspective— to make a substantially positive difference in any shape or form. I try and look at truth not so much as a destination (simply because the notion of “truth” varies from individual to individual) but more as a process of exploration. With love always xo Little Fefe

Life in the Little Lane: Edith Ann on Wishes

I love these new email alerts! Now I never miss out when a WoWer replies. Sometimes messages get misplaced somewhere in the world wide web so it’s nice to being able re-trace. Of course, some are lost forever but that’s another story. I don’t know either our little EA should opt for email alerts as I imagine her email inbox would be flooded with messages - maybe it already is .. We just cannot get enough of her Expectational Amazingness (E.A.) ^_^

Life in the Little Lane: Edith Ann on Wishes

Well you see the little secret is not to tell anyone when you make a wish then it has a greater chance of coming true! I often find when I’ve wished for something to come true and I’ve waited and waited … then after a while of waiting I put it aside (but not forgotten). Then when I least expect it — whatever I wished for happens or sometimes the alternative happens which is even better!!!

Hehe Thanks very much Serena! Which btw is such a fantastic name! I have always been interested in self enlightenment or self inspiration because I learned if I would like things to be better it’s important to play an active role ensuring this. I was lucky to gravitate to examples from early on. It is interesting how moments/interests in your life play out. Examples: Read Jane’s “Search” at 13. It had a profound impact on my life and educational choices - which still continues to this day. Love and cherish such plays as The Miracle Worker, A Streetcar Named Desire, and The Little Foxes, etc. Been inspirationally taken aback by Eckhart Tolle’s “The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment” Marvel at feminist scholar Marilyn French, and the alike. (Too many to list) I too have recently been exploring taoism and eco-feminism among several other “isms”. The only thing I worry about is the fact the world is so vast - it has endless capabilities and choices - but our time here is relatively short. I agree with you very much - it is NEVER to late to learn, explore and discover the inner you. As far as I am concerned we do not do this enough - if we don’t know who we are and feel appreciative and comfortable then how can we expect others to?

Oh I hope Josie and everyone else on Wow is doing well! How is everyone doing? I hope the week overall proved to be a good one. I wish on a star for all to go well :) PST! Edith, would you be willing to do your very own photo essay on what it is like to be a kid or a day in the life of EA? What do ya think? I know you may not have access to a camera but perhaps you can share some of your artistic creations…do you think you could fit it into your busy schedule?

Yes, my little EA (e-xceptionally a-ttentive or a-mazing) dearie. I do know what you “mean”.. but then I realized there’s two sides to every little habit; when you become accustomed to the one side it becomes difficult to see the habit any other way. My mommy told me there’s many different reasons why people like the “drink” but a few summers ago I saw firsthand (family friend) how it causes even the most intelligent, responsible and respected individuals to spiral out of control; causing very dangerous situations, if not fatal. I then realized that this “drinking problem” was actually a medical condition; although it is incurable it is very treatable and with effort it is highly successful. It’s a little easier these days to seek treatment — but there’s many types of “o-holics” in society and it’s vital for them to realize it is important take care of themselves before their habit takes over them. Not to get preachy here… but it’s nice when have an extra pair of eyes looking out for us. Angels walk amongst - I call them family and friends. There’s always at least one exceptionally amazing person present in your life, but, also, you can be your very own source of inspiration. However, some of us can only tolerate reality in very small doses - I for sure. It’s nice to retreat or idealize - as long as it is done carefully and moderately. You have a good lil’ heart EA, thanks for continuing to share it with your friends on WoW ~Little Fefe

Awwww we’re sorry to learn this. Ask her to flash that enchanting smile of hers and all will be well again! If it’s any consolation, I dropped my ice cone on the sidewalk today - it was hot outside and I was hungry but I spent the last of this week’s allowance so I couldn’t get another one… Note to self: always make sure you tie your shoelaces before buying ice cream. ~Little Fefe

It was once said: “Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius — and a lot of courage — to move in the opposite direction.”

Change the World

I agree 100% !!!!! Let’s get the ideas rolling.
