I THINK you are no psychologist, ma’am.  This incident indicates something that bothers me much more than his apologizing. Maybe if you understood where we really stand in the world…….

Ok, I regret not spending more on the bar bill, or not buying the most expensive bottle of wine. I regret not taking  the vacation to Europe more than I ever can tell you. I regret not buying my granddaughter the designer bag I knew she really longed for. I regret driving the same car, albiet a good one, for 13 years because I bought it new and kept it serviced. I regret not dancing til dawn. I regret not having more parties with my family and friends.

I resolve to live as large as possible for the rest of my life.

Dona, that is a great idea to keep copies of your comments on Wowowow. I had thought of that at one time but, of course, forgot :) Yes, 30 to 35 is a great time in a woman’s life for fun.

I will go back and print them off from my profile and keep up with them. That could help me with some things I want to write for my children and descendents. I certainly wish I had listened more closely to my mother. She was the story teller in the family of our history and a lot of it is now lost. My brother doesn’t remember anything hardly. He has ask me where was he that so much happened and so many things I knew about that he doesn’t. I told him he was a typical little boy with only thoughts of running and playing. I was always more interested in what the adults were talking about.

Must have been why I seemed to mature so early and started my own stories at such a young age, lol.

Why, when we have people who need education here, in this country and want to be nurses?

A lot of people can’t afford tuition right now because of loss of jobs and lowered incomes. In two years, a lot of nurses can be ready to go into the hospitals to work under supervision and then they will be head nurses and supervisors in a few years.

Yes, Diana, in Tennessee. Each year of tuition is forgiven for each year worked after graduation.

Sorry about so many grammer and spelling mistakes. I can’t sleep, but my mind is not as clear as it should be to type about something I feel so passionately about.

Ask me questions about insurance companies and why they have so many things they won’t allow as coverage. It is too make a profit. You know it and I know it.

Please, please, let’s all get as knowledgable about this as possible. Don’t let our whole country down to keep the rich even richer.

I am a nurse and I am so sick, so sick of hearing about how health care modeled after Europe is socialized medicine and how bad it is. Well, you may pay for it but not if you can’t pay for it. If you don’t work or have a job how can you pay for it? You will still get health care.

However, there are a lot of kids whose parents wonder if their kid is sick enough to take it to the doctor because they don’t have insurance. The savy ones take their children to the emergency room and it has to be taken care of if it receives county tax money in our state and I believe Medicare funds. I know that if a hospital turns someone away in our state that receives taxpayer money the hospital be penalized.

We now have american’s going to other countries for surgeries because they are so much cheaper than here. And I am not talking about cosmetic surgery by itself. Other surgeries like gall bladder, hysterectomies and so forth.

The people who are afraid of changing our health care system has not traveled around as I have and audited hospitals. They have not seen the marble entrances and balconies with hanging flowers and even trees  inside the front door. One hospital I went to had a lobby so big that they had constantly roving golf carts coming around in the lobby taking people from one entrance or another to the elevators and back to the entrances. Then outside the entrances, carts to take them to their cars in the enormous car lots.

Where do you think this money comes from? Your insurance money and the co-pays and deductibles and so forth. And the insurance company passes the cost along to you if you are insured. Insurance is not cheap….unless you work for the government. Goodness, I have even had to deduct things that were medically necessary but that the insurance did not pay so the insurance company could make a profit. It would be in the contract so what else could the client (patient, or insured) do?

Everyone is in it to make a profit and not a reasonable profit. As as one who knows, the profits are huge..

And don’t tell me that the we don’t want the government to be involved. Well, think about the post office. For only what amounts to a little more than pennies a letter can be mailed and without a day or two be across the country or around the world in about a week. What is wrong with that.

Some things have to have a monopoly. Power is one. Can you imagine having more than one company in your area providing power? Look at how the telephone companies have ripped us off since they have been able to compete in the market. My phone bills are ridiculous considering how little I use the phone and it use to be so inexpensive.

I’ll get off my soap box but until any of you go out to the hospitals, clinics, and medical establishments and look at the billing practices, look at the insurance companies payment practices and how they charge for their services then I would suggest getting more of an education before making up your mind about what you want.

Don’t let some talking head who is working for some big comglomerate (which may own a string of medical facilities) tell you what you should think. (One previous senior US senator was a heart surgeon but retired to go back into the business of his family who owned hospitals).

Omie, if you have a child or grandchild who loves to read, especially biographies or history books, they may get the significance of them. They contain, I’m sure, priceless information about the family and relatives, historical events and so many things that family members and decendents can enjoy. Of course, the family info may also be important for health history reasons. I really wish my family had been more forth coming about that sort of thing. I’m having to drag it out of my elderly aunt now because I had no idea of the cause of death of grandparents or any family illness that could be considered genetic. Please keep your journals and make a provision in your will to their dispensation. Your family will appreciate it.

Hey Dona, I’m glad, too, that you kicked up your heels, so to speak, when you were between husbands #1 and #2. I bet you could have written a book and it would have delicious!

My miss-spent time was in my teen’s and 30’s. I kind of settled down in my 40’s til age 45 and became a cougar..that wasn’t the name for it then but what the heck…I had fun.

Then back to the older man, the father figure. Tall, goodlooking gray haired gentleman. He was my first husband. We are not sure how we will count the years of being married. From the number of years we were first married added to the last years or just the last years?

The kids are still scratching their heads over our getting back together. But we were always such good friends that it seems a shame to spend our later years alone when we can have fun together.

I will say no more about that or my sis will "murder" me. She is so proper. Her adopted dad looked so much like George Sanders I insisted he was and she insisted he wasn’t. We had a great time when she visited.

One thing I can say is one of her bridesmaids was Keira Knightly’s mother. She looked just like her famous daughter when she was young.
