I think Thomas had something there, Anita. I think that the 200 plus year experiment is doomed, too. When people here illegally are now leaving our borders and going home because they can’t make a living here, it shows what we have come to.

Gosh, Lori, you are so wise for someone so young and so pretty! I always th0ught that Americans were asleep at the wheel for the last eight years but this just takes the cake!! After all, HOW much time does HE need to straighten out the economy? It only went down hill in the last months of the last president’s term. My brother, a liberal commie said that it started back when Clinton was in office, and that Bush should hav straightened. I told him off but good. I would think that He would have a plan by now and know the score, so to speak.
It has been at least a 45 days or more and he has all those "experts" to tell him what to do. Well, is anybody listening?

I worked for Medicare, it is socialism whether you believe it or not. I know, we all pay for it but not everyone the same. Some a lot less than others but when it comes to care, Medicare patient’s all are treated by the same doctors and receive the same care unless the richer ones supplement their care with their own money….believe me that happens. This is a nation of rich and poor, middle class has taken a nose dive in the last 8 years. Marjorie C. are you a plant for wow to keep the back and forth BS going on?

I’m with you robyn, I lived in an abusive household as a child. I have said upfront, "If you ever hit me, don’t you dare ever go to sleep in my home" and I meant it. Funny, no one has ever hit me since I left my home of origin at 17 because I would have done what Willie Nelson’s wife did to him when he kept coming home drunk. Sewed him up in a sheet and beat him with a broom handle.

I remember how we saw everything during the Vietnam War. It was hard but let us, as a nation, know that our voices could be and would be heard. I don’t know the right answer because everyone has very valid points. I’m so glad you can talk to your son. When my brother was in Vietnam we waited, sometimes, for weeks for a letter. We keep the phone lines burning among our family members. Asking if one of us had received a letter and the date on the letter. That was always important because we knew when a battle had occured and always held our breath until we received contact.

Hi, Eleanor, hope you are having a good week-end. I just wanted to pipe in for a minute…I think we here on wow are all patriotic. We just have our differences and that is why we have such a great country. We CAN have very great differences and voice them anywhere we want to and that is ok!!!

However, I have watched Leno’s Jay Walkers, a segment on his show where he ask people, most of them young, 20-30 something, pertinent questions regarding current events. They have been totally ignorant of the most simple things and when it comes to our country’s history it is even more astonishing how little people know. I have been watching these segments for quite a long time and I can’t believe he could handpick all these people because they are not informed. I really think that most people are not informed. Did you hear the vocals of interviews during the presidential election of a reporter asking people leaving a voting establishment commonly known questions about the people running for office. He would ask if the person thought that having Sarah Palin running as his VP would hurt B. Obama and most answered no. These were the ones voting for B.Obama. He asked another mixed up question of ones saying they were voting for J. McCain and the voter did not correct the reporter. I wish we could all "funnel" information into the brains of people. After all, we have such a privilege in this country. Thanks for letting me get this off my chest. I really hope we can all find a way to help this country go forward and be better no matter what we call ourselves. Whether we are democrats or republicans. :)
