Sarah Palin, Governor of Alaska Reportedly McCain's VP Pick

Where’s Winery… she’s probably still on the floor wiping her eyes. Lordy what was McCain thinking (don’t answer that I know what he was thinking). As for a debate between Palin and Biden, I don’t really have the stomach for that.

Whoopi Goldberg on Barack Obama's Nomination

You are toooo right… Ewwwwwwwww!

Whoopi Goldberg on Barack Obama's Nomination

Thanks Whoopi, you’re spot on. I watched a program on the 60’s last night (after the DNC!) and was amazed at a sense of Deja vu. Martin Luther King Jr., Robert Kennedy that era… people were ready for a change and I believe we are now. My husband is a McCain supporter and contests that the American’s will vote white… I disagree, America is ready for a CHANGE black white purple doesn’t matter!!

Lily's Plea for YOUR Help to Save Jenny the Elephant

Hi Linda, I keep checking back on this thread to see what’s going on… you are tireless, Thank you. I wish Lily would give us a quick note to bolster our spirits, well at least it would mine.

Who is the most famous person you've ever met? What were the circumstances?

I too have had many famous encounters through my job of publishers representative. Most famous probably Margaret Atwood (very dry wit, doesn’t suffer fools lightly… luckily we got along ;-) ), Rohinton Mistry and the man who starred in the movie of his book Such a Long Journey, Alice Munro, Timothy Findley (my fave, what a wonderful human being he was!), Toller Cranston (spent an amazing evening at a collectors’ - of his art - house overlooking the ocean), for the guys, Tretiak (who made a pass at me), Guy LaFleur… Most memorable was the night I went for dinner with Evan Solomon and I nearly choked on an oyster and he had to give me the heimlich… talk about an adrenaline rush for all of us at the table which led to the most amazing conversation for the rest of the evening!!!

Where do you get your health insurance?

I live in Canada so it costs very little, DeB you should move to Canada so you won’t be so far ;-)

Sunday is the 11th anniversary of Princess Diana's death. Do you remember where you were when you heard the news that she died?

I don’t remember where I was but I remember being surprised at how much her death affected me. I was almost as shocked as when Lennon was shot, this reaction on my part was a surprise to myself and those close to me. Being Canadian you grow up with a certain sense of the Royals, I wasn’t a devoted fan but a curious onlooker. I wept uncontrollably and my husband thought I was a sappy fool. When I went to Paris a few years back I made a point of going to her memorial and The Ritz… she was a gift. Her death turned the Royals world upside down forever. The monarchy ain’t what it used to be.

Tonight! Joe Biden and President Clinton Take the Stage at the DNC UPDATE 7:00 PM

right on Diana, seems to me an insiders’ insider (not even sure what he means by that) is indeed a very wise choice!

Tonight! Joe Biden and President Clinton Take the Stage at the DNC UPDATE 7:00 PM

I’m REALLY looking forward to Biden’s speech but I hope Bill keeps it short, frankly I think Hillary said it all. I would rather he spoke right after her … where he belongs… right after her.

It's the Visuals, Stupid

Joan, I agree Michelle did pull off the impossible. I did find there were moments I thought she looked like Sally Fields in Norma Rea. The odd sniff I found a tad insincere but overall a fine performance indeed.

McCain Fires Back at Madonna for Hitler Comparison

my thoughts exactly DeB re all the mudslinging…. put your slickers on ‘cause we ain’t seen nothin’ yet.

Lily's Plea for YOUR Help to Save Jenny the Elephant
