Autism has been the biggest surprise in my life …. not the incest, not the radio career without education, not two dead husbands, not the wild nights with rock stars, this B.S. would shake up a normal person ….. right?! The autism …. the autism has really surprised me …. the autism has brought out all the really good things about me that were buried and almost lost due to overwhelming B.S. to included drunken mother and Nazi bible totin’ papa’ or three dead step fathers and two dead brothers and one best friend lost to HIV …. should I go on about the B.S. factor … no, and your right you know. Why waste time on this? It is kind of spectacular that I am not dead in a ditch someplace or hold up in drug house. What is truly spectacular is my M and his ability to bring out the best in me. He struggles so much and he is still so happy and positive …. he makes my past lives look so meaningless …. he is my reason for reason. And I truly believe I was given M and the autism to wash away all the B.S. in my life, none of those horrible things I just mentioned mean G.D. thing. And also, autism is now my saving grace … I make a decent living helping other families that are goin’ through what I went through in the early days of our autism … the confusion and fear … the depression and grieving …. I am able to help others that need a helping hand and a voice of REASON. M and our Autism is my reason for REASON.
