My Comments (159 so far…)

What is your favorite time of day?

The wee hours of the morning, between midnight and dawn, when everything is still, the world is asleep and creativity explodes inside my head.

Did you miss Liz and Lesley on CNN's 'American Morning'? (Video)

Love the videos. Nice switch up from endless reading on the web. Keep ‘em comin’, ladies.

Win an Autographed Copy of Jane Green's The Beach House

Sounds like fun. I’m in and I want to win, win, win!

Which Madonna is your favorite?

While Madonna is a fantastic money maker and excellent publicist, she’s also a remarkable mother. Just recently I read a story about her daughter Lourdes spending time with her father. The girl and her dad obviously have a good relationship regardless of her parents’ separate lives.

Who gets your vote for the veep spot on the Obama ticket?

Hillary Clinton would be a bold move that would unite the party and seal the deal for the White House. Just because they’re married doesn’t mean Hillary has to bring Bill back into the White House with her.

The Whistle Blows on the Woman in the Edwards Case and It Isn't Who You Think

Thanks for your response, Kitty. We can voice an opinion or disagree with a point of view without trashing each other.

Who is your favorite or most memorable relative (not including your spouse) and why?

My dear grandmother, Julia. She loved me and I knew it. I’m passing the love onto my darling grandson, Jacob

'Thank You, Mr. President: Helen Thomas at the White House' Sneak Preview (video)

Bravo! We love you, Helen! Can’t wait to see the interview. Just set my TiVo.

What is your favorite book of this summer thus far? Why?

THE AUDACITY OF HOPE by Barack Obama. I knew very little about Sen. Obama so I’m reading his books. Very eye-opening and insightful. He’s such a citizen of the world with fresh ideas of what the world has to offer each of us. Not surprising his trip abroad went so well. DREAMS FROM MY FATHER is waiting on the shelf to be opened and enjoyed. He’s an excellent writer.

The Unhappy Would-Be First Ladies

Thank you, Lesley and Gail, for letting us eavesdrop on your insightful, highlightful and thoroughly delightful conversation. More, more, more of these gems, please.

Marilyn Monroe -- The Way She (Really) Was

Marilyn Monroe, what a role model. She let nothing stop her from pursuing her dreams. How ironic that as we celebrate Marilyn’s life we bid farewell to Professor Randy Pausch, whose Carnegie Mellon’s Last Lecture spoke to Living Your Childhood Dreams. He died of pancreatic cancer on Friday, July 25th. Monroe and Pausch both left us with pointers, guidelines on how to live life to its fullest. May they rest in peace.

A Visit With Emma Thompson, Plus a Sneak Peek at 'Brideshead Revisited'

Emma Thompson writes like a dream and her acting reigns supreme. Love her in everything she’s done. But my favorite performance was in Wit where she plays a woman diagnosed with terminal ovarian cancer. She takes her audience on a journey where hope fades and reality hurts. Amazing, brilliant work. One note about Nanny McPhee … my macho husband TiVOed Nanny so he could watch when he was alone. He loved it.

The Real Men and Women of Madison Avenue

That was beautiful. Thanks for the tour. It’s been years since I was in New York. This tour calls me back.

What's the last thing that made you laugh out loud?

I am totally not a Stephen Colbert fan, but his parody of Bill O’Reilly’s meltdown was too funny for words. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/05/14/stephen-colbert-imitates_n_1016…
