What are you reading that you really love?

Sorry, Michael, Kindle won’t replace wowOwow. Enhance, yes, but not replace. Wednesday afternoon I stopped by the Kindle kiosk at my local Borders. The book I sought, EPIPHANIES by Ann Jauregui, was out of stock. It’ll arrive Monday from Amazon. The wait totally frustrates me, hence, Kindle is on my Mother’s Day wish list.

What are you reading that you really love?

Thrilled to be reading PRIDE AND PREJUDICE by Jane Austin. I spend so much time reading online I’d put books on the night stand where they’d collect dust. After reading A NEW EARTH by Eckhart Tolle, I brushed off PAP and started enjoying Elizabeth Bennett’s timeless romance with Mr. Darcy.

Have you ever experienced sex discrimination? If so, what did you do about it?

Sure, but I ignored it and either I or it walked away.

Joan Cooney: Senators Clinton and Obama Have Made Each Other Unelectable

Right on, Tinka. A lot can happen in the next 6 months … Obama and Clinton might come to the conclusion they can only win on a joint ticket … lay down their arms and embrace one another. Come on, politics makes strange, and seemingly unimaginable, bedfellows. I don’t see why Hilary Clinton should bow out just because she’s a few votes behind. If she was Bill would be expect him to pick up his toys and go home. Never!! As long as she has a fighting chance she should hang in there and fight. Are Democrats so shallow that they wouldn’t support whomever the party is promoting? They’d rather vote Republican or not vote at all? If that’s the case it’s not the candidates who are in trouble, it’s the voter. Democrats better wake up and smell the coffee, or crude oil. We cannot afford 4 more years of a Republican presidency.

Forty years ago, students shut down Columbia University protesting the Vietnam War. Have you ever marched in a protest?

I was too young and naive to understand our participation in the Vietnam War until it was over. However I did participate in the Million Woman March in Philadelphia (1997), which was awe inspiring. So many woman supporting a common goal - strengthening the family. Now the only marching I do is yearly participation in the 5K Susan Komen Race for the Cure. http://cms.komen.org/komen/index.htm

On '60 Minutes:' Is Gastric Bypass Surgery More Than Just a Way to Lose Weight?

Fantastic information, Lesley. Gastric bypass cures high blood pressure, diabetes and some forms of cancer. Phenomenal. I’ve a cousin who considered this surgery 15 years ago. Today he’s got hi-blood pressure, diabetes, gout and failed kidneys. He might have had a fighting chance if he’d pursued the surgery. Who knew … THANK YOU for the help you’ve provided to future generations.

Today is Earth Day! What's the most wasteful thing that you do?

Wish I was a better steward of time management.

What do men not know about women?

KB - Good to know there’s light at the end of the tunnel. I was beginning to think he’d never get it.

What do men not know about women?

Men don’t understand that we talk amongst ourselves to be social, to express ourselves, to share our own opinion, not because we want a man to solve a problem for us. I’m often bewildered when my husband will launch into analysis and solution when I tell him about an interesting tidbit of my day. Relax already.

Who Is She? Part Two

That’s a very cynical view of women, Mark. When a marriage is in trouble it’s not just the woman’s problem/fault. It takes two to make a marriage or a divorce.

What advice would you give to a 21-year-old woman?

Live each day to its fullest. Trust your intuition.
