"That’s the way it goes.  It goes that way."

Bank Cites Headscarf for Asking Muslim Woman to Leave Line

I’m looking at the first sentence in the fourth paragraph.  And I’m an idiot, cause this isn’t a bank, it’s a credit union.

Jim Cramer Appears on 'Today,' Pushes Back at Stewart (Video)

Didn’t everybody get it wrong?  Why are we just making fun of one or two?

Bank Cites Headscarf for Asking Muslim Woman to Leave Line

Yes, I understand that.  But this isn’t a law, this is a bank policy, the likes of which  even the Bankers Association does not approve.  I think I heard something recently about how we don’t need to sacrifice our principles to insure our security.  Religious freedom is protected by the Constitution, so wherever they draw the security line, freedom of religious practice can’t be denied to any citizen, unless and until that practice violates some criminal law.

Good for Nicholas.  Let’s hope he’s now an ex-boyfriend.

The Memory Keepers, by Michele Neff Hernandez

Beautiful.  And inspiring.  Thank you so much, Ms. Hernandez.

They simply say, "This woman has done business with us for ten years.  We know she isn’t a threat."  Acquaint her as an individual with the teller-line and security people and move on.  If, like most of us, she does all her banking at the same branch, familiarity should trump suspicion.  Otherwise, you’re assuming some sort of criminal intent where none exists.  But in her shoes, I’d probably just use the drive thru.  It’s not like we don’t all have to show I.D.

McCain, Gingrich Take Veiled Swipe at Limbaugh, Say They Don't Want Obama to 'Fail' (Video)

I like what McCain said, and I’m thrilled to hear New Gingrich agree that Limbaugh is irrational.  I hope to Goodness President Obama will give these earmarks a second look.  It could work wonders for his bi-partisan ambitions if he would kill one fattened calf and call for certain spending removals.  Every American citizen is sacrificing something in this economic environment, and since Congress couldn’t even sacrifice their wage increase, it seems like sacrificing certain pet projects is the least they could do.

Individual bank managers can make exceptions to any "policy".  This incident clearly demonstrates a tendency of racial profiling, if not outright bigotry, on the part of the branch managers.

American Journalist in Iran, Roxana Saberi, Meets With Lawyer

This is good news.  (But 37 days ago, it was February.)  Thanks for keeping us posted on the progress of this case.  I’m glad the attorney let her know how many people are doing their best to help.

U.S. Mulls More Lifelines for Surprisingly Strong Citigroup

That’s usurious, in my opinion.  We need to re-define and institute guidelines, with clear ramifications, for usurious conduct.  It hurts everybody.

Jade Goody Going Blind as Cancer Ravages

The wowOwow staff is notorious for what they call "typos"…some of which can hardly be excused on that basis.  It amazes me.  But such seems to be the state of editorial excellence.  I hardly ever read a book published in the past ten years that doesn’t contain at least one or two.  In "The Secret Life of Bees" this weekend there was a quotation about two-thirds of the way through:  "It is what it it."  Even when the other 300 pages are flawless, you have to wonder.  Maybe i just never caught them before.
