Rembrandt? Picasso? O'Keeffe? Tell us: Who is your favorite artist?
I saw an amazing retrospective on Georgia O’Keefe many years ago at the Washington Gallery. It had a profound affect on me. I could never quite look at art the same way. It was about the process of an artist, not the product. I continue to look at my own work this way.
Liza Donnelly's Cartoon of the Week: A Twitter Sunset
Excellent cartoon, Liza! Twitter is a sign of the times, I think, yet when compared to the natural world, it make no sense.
That said, I’ve been on Twitter for about 6 months and have over 300 followers. I’m not sure how this fits into the bigger arc of my life. (I’d much rather be watching sunsets.) But my theory is that Twitter somehow taps into the collective stream of (un)consciousness of our culture. It’s fascinating.

Unemployed, Out of Business or Retired – What Am I? by Margot Wolf
Well said, Margot. When I get asked at parties what I do, I usually say, "I write books." What I don’t say, is that I’m not always successful in this endeavor. But who tells the truth at these things anyway.
At any rate, I hate the question. I would much rather someone asked me what I feel passionate about or what or whom I love.

Report: Natasha Richardson 'Brain-Dead' After Ski Accident, Near Death (Update)
Are you willing to accept more gov't regulation and fewer choices in health care to cut costs and provide insurance for all?
You bet.

What is the best present you have ever received?
My partner supported us for two years while I wrote my first novel. This was the most wonderful and generous gift I have ever received.

It's Friday the 13th. Does this date spook you?
I have a friend from Italy who swears that 13 is a lucky number there. This makes me want to flip superstitions and beliefs upside down to see what’s under them. Would our lives be any different if we considered Friday the 13th the luckiest day of the year?

Candice Bergen's 'Wake Up' Call
Love this! "Hanging, bat-like…" is a great line. My dog, Jack, hogs the bed, too. I can definitely relate.

Recessionistas: If you have sworn off vacations because of this recession, what are you doing instead?
I’m reading lots of books and challenging myself to buy lesser known authors since book sales for most are hurting right now.
I’m also getting out in nature more. It’s amazing how restorative it is. Those two things are keeping me sane.

March Is Women's History Month. What is the most important moment in U.S. history for the advancement of women? Biggest setback?
I like to think that our greatest moments are to come. Or maybe they are happening now, as more and more women’s voices are being heard. Thanks, WOW, for participating in our emergence.

For International Women's Day, Books That Empower, by Sara Nelson
I haven’t read Katherine Graham’s Personal History yet, but there is a quote by her that I keep on my desk and absolutely love.
"To do work you love and feel that it matters; how could anything be more fun?"
Thanks to Sara Nelson for this list.

Liz Smith: Sharon Stone on Panties, Parenting, Privacy, Paparazzi and Michael Phelps … Also – the Sad End of Neverland
I used to be a psychotherapist and a client of mine was the personal chef to some Hollywood producers and stars, including Sharon Stone on one occasion, and the client said that Sharon was absolutely horrible to her—quite the out-of-control diva.
I truly don’t want to believe this about such a great actress and person. But we all have our "horrible" moments, right? I guess it’s true that celebrities can’t just be normal people. Every supposed not-so-nice moment gets remembered and repeated. Forgive me, Sharon.

Dee Dee Myers Reveals Why Harvard's Women's Rooms Say It All
Excellent piece. Dee Dee Myers is a great writer, as well as an eloquent speaker. In her own way, she is helping us come together as women.
