Angry Over Gay Leader, Conservative Anglicans Split From Episcopal Church

I love you, guys. You make the greatest comments. As an Episcopalian, as well as a “cancer that needs to be removed from society,” it is heartening to know that so many of you see through this hate-filled, narrow-minded view. Thanks!

The wowOwow Cartoon of the Week: Hillary's Obstacles

I am a fan, Liza. This is great stuff. Thanks for the wonderful work you do. All the best, Susan Gabriel (Author of Seeking Sara Summers)

Introducing the 'Just the Right Book' Program

Happy Holidays everyone! Long live independent booksellers! I live near Denver and the Tattered Cover Bookstore is a gem, as is Malaprops in Asheville, NC. I think autographed copies of books are especially great gifts. People seem to like the personal touch. All the best, Susan Gabriel (Author of Seeking Sara Summers)

Mayor, Superintendent Differ on 'Assassinate Obama' Kids

Where did the kids get these ideas except from the parents. Maybe these kinds of incidents are exactly where we need our “hyperactive media” to focus their attention. This kind of behavior is not okay.

Mother Earth Care-toon: Spotting Todd Palin

Who could blame the wolves for getting even after getting hunted from helicopters. If I were a wolf, I would consider Todd fair game.

Should Malia and Sasha Obama go to public school or private school?

Yes, I agree. Private school would keep them safer.

Clinton Considering Secretary Of State Position, Say Sources

Hillary as Secretary of State makes perfect sense to me. I hope she agrees to do it. I posted about her a couple of weeks ago in my blog if anyone is interested. The post is entitled “Dare to Compete” and it has something to say to all of us, I think. www.susangabriel.com/blog

Hillary Clinton on the Presidential Election Outcome

I have been so touched by the response of African Americans who have said, sometimes with tears streaming down their faces, that electing a black president is not something they would have dreamed would happen in their lifetimes. Imagine what it will be like for women, when a woman finally holds the highest position in the country. I hope I live to see the day.

Sarah Palin: 'I'm Sorry If I Cost John McCain Even One Vote, But Don't Give Me That Much Credit'

I hear you, Tear E. In the therapy world (I used to be a shrink) I would hear the phrase that “everyone is doing the best they can given their circumstances.” And I would always think, “Really?” Because it seems that child abuse, et al, would not be their “best,” right? So I’m with you, that I totally disagree with how she went about giving it her all.

Sarah Palin: 'I'm Sorry If I Cost John McCain Even One Vote, But Don't Give Me That Much Credit'

Sarah Palin was obviously emotional at the concession speech last night. Even if I don’t agree with her politics, I think she gave it her all.

Some Traditionally 'Red' Military Members Emotional About Obama Win

Gen. Colin Powell gave a thoughtful, intelligent endorsement, and I’m glad that he was able to have some influence. Hopefully now we can get our soldiers home safe and soon.

Barack Hussein Obama Wins Historic Election; Will Become 44th President of The United States of America

I celebrate with all of you. As a white woman who grew up in the South during the Civil Rights movement, this is not something I thought I would live to see. But I am grateful to have witnessed history and to have been a part of it. This is like the sun finally breaking through after a hundred years of cloudy days. It is a glorious, glorious moment and I am soaking it in.

Whoopi Goldberg: We Have Finally Become Part of the Fabric of the United States of America

I can’t imagine what this is like for you, Whoopi, but I celebrate with you. As a white woman who grew up in the South during the Civil Rights movement, this is not something I thought I would live to see, either. But I am grateful to have witnessed history and to have been a part of it. This is like the sun finally breaking through after a hundred years of cloudy days. It is a glorious, glorious moment and I am soaking it in.

Book Abuse, by Sara Nelson

I’m with you, Sara. I think this is the abuse of a book with the good intention of promoting tolerance. I am curious why the author(s) have not spoken up yet. Although I’m glad the editor at Tricycle Press has. I keep wondering about the symbolism here. Perhaps it points to the power of children’s books, or the mindset of the people who want to overthrow legalized gay marriage. Thanks for telling us about this.
