Do you attend organized religious or spiritual services?
What cultural moment from the past reminds you of this kind of change climate? How did you adapt and evolve during that time?
I lived in the 1960’s. Remember the old adage "if you remember the 1960’s you weren’t there". Of course back then there were drugs, flower children, beads and lots of drinking and whooping it up. And then vietnam came and stayed. It was a horrible thing when our men were killed but so are today’s war casualties. Even though I didn’t make a lot of money back then, I had lots more jingle in my pocket. And, was the government really hated ???? I didn’t think so at the time. Sure there were draft dodgers and there were many protesters and marches. But a lot of the big protesting marches were large numbers gathered together to smoke pot and do drugs. This was a way for protesters to thumb their noses at the establishment while for others it was a way to drink and smoke pot…..and at that time large numbers frightened the establishment. A lot of the protests were against the war and civil rights. Two things we all should then and now be concerned about.
But….today’s financial atmosphere was nothing like I remember in the 1960’s. And I do remember as I wasn’t taking drugs and smoking pot and drinking till I upchucked. I was young then. And now I am old. That is a big difference. I am wiser now, and I know how to cut expenses to survive. Back then I knew the words "spend, spend, spend". Daddy’s money first, then mine when I started working. Now the money is mine…..and careful spending is the key. But most importantly, I still love my country and do not degrade my leaders.

f.p. …. clap clap clap……. I think I know a few of those rightie-tightie wankers who live down the block from me. I wanted to know if I fit that other definition (lefty kossack wanker)…. I looked up wanger….it says the definition is a useful idiot. Also listed in the definition was "a term Republicans used for poor people who vote for them even though the Republican party doesn’t like poor people." Then it went on to say that the term is "used to describe someone who blindly supports his or her government despite its imperialistic behavior."
HA HA HA I may be poor but I’m not republican so the second definition doesn’t describe me. I guess that leaves the first definition cause I don’t think anyone has been acting "imperialistic" unless Rush said so. Now I know…I am an useful idiot. I still don’t know what a kossack is….dang it…someone describes me and I don’t even know what it means. Freepers jeepers!
Rod Blagojevich Asks Judge for NBC Reality Show
Nanchan…Illinois legislators just passed a law which will recover every penny from the proceeds realized by a criminal. The key is the criminal must be convicted. I’m pretty sure the legislation includes proceeds from books, TV and movies which might be made but there are questions whether Blago will be subject to this since he isn’t convicted.
The local Illinois capitol city news today says that if he were to be convicted of all charges he is subject to 300 years in prison and a 4 million dollar fine….but he will most likely serve 25 years when convicted.
The show he is supposed to be on is scheduled to premiere June 1 —— 10 celebrities are dropped in the middle of a jungle to test survival skills. Boohoo … he won’t be able to comb his hair.

Best way to shut Rush up and out of my life…..reach over, click radio station to off! Smile, lean back, sigh and say what a good girl am I.
Rod Blagojevich Asks Judge for NBC Reality Show
What a pompous baffoon!! He is an embarassment to our state (Illinois). I heard on the news this morning that this particular tv show will be filmed in Costa Rica…maybe he has plans to stay in Costa Rica. Please Judge don’t let him go.
BTW, I read where he’s ticked off because no attorney firm in Chicago will offer totally free legal services like Jim Thompson (ex-governor of Illinois) did for our former convicted Governor George Ryan. And the attorney firms aren’t rushing to represent him as they think they won’t get paid. What a hoot!
Life 101: How can the wowOwow woman adapt herself to and thrive in these changing times?
Change is a part of living. If a person wants to survive in this dog-eat-dog world, then accept things as they are in this world. And remember that your wants and desires are not always best for the majority of people. A party of one is not the majority.
And, by all means, drop the negativity and hate. These get you nothing but stress and these may harm your health.
Comments of the Week 4/4 - 4/10
Emcye…I stand beside you in your plea and thoughts about wow. I like to think that perhaps wow just has stumbled and will recover fully soon. Words of wisdom say so much.
Congratulations to the other comments of the week posters too. Thank you for your inspiring words.
Feds Eye Jesse Jackson Jr.'s Role in Blagojevich Case
P.S. Someone mentioned his book. I forgot to say that his book is indeed supposed to come out in the fall. As much as he lied about everything, I seriously doubt that anyone will believe anything in the book.
And the wonderful thing is….our legislators just passed a new law…..if Blagojevich is convicted, the law gives the Illinois Attorney General the power to sue Blago for every penny from the book. Oh Glory Day. Our Attorney General, Lisa Madigan is a bulldog just like Peter Fitzgerald.
Plus I do believe I recently read in the capitol city paper that they were taking control of all of his campaign funds and if the money isn’t all there, they will confiscate his bank account and his property holdings. For Mr. Blago, it was all for the love of money.

Do you believe in God?
A Fictional Fight Between Barack and Michelle Obama, by Jane Hamilton
I wonder if there really are ANY married couples that haven’t had a few arguments? Over a twelve year period of marriage, who in the world could live with another person without having some spats over something??? Love is grand and all that but……..
I love my husband but you better believe there have been times I wanted to wring his neck!!
Do you believe in God?
Someone had to make the earth I live on, as well as the creatures I see every day. I was taught it was God. I was taught he is the almighty maker, and as a child I came to the conclusion that he is also the almighty taker.
It makes my soul feel better that I, at least, have something to believe in and a place to direct my prayers even though there were times when the horribly rough spots in life made me wonder if my religious education was just taught from a fictional book based on words with no substance. I imagine there are others who may have felt this way at one time or another and especially when the "testing" became an enormous burden.
