Mr. wOw's Very White Moment

Someone said….and it’s all a blur now…that they couldn’t wait to vote for Senator McCain…I must be missing a few things, like an election a few months back. Also, I think the point that someone was trying to make by inviting a black conservative to Detroit was to have that black, conservative American surrounded by very unconservative blacks.

The arguments are really so tiresome. Each of our lives are formed by our experiences. It’s not unreasonable to think that many blacks feel uncomfortable when in a sea of white faces or even in a sea of gun toteing polcemen. I know a few white guys who are also way uncomfortable when surrounded by gun toteing policemen. Merely because your personal experiences in life don’t include racism doesn’t mean that it doesn’t exist. What the young college students should be doing is expanding their social knowledge by meeting more people unlike themselves. Hence the reason nfor diversity on college campuses. But alas, like middle school, like groups and races seem to congregate and associate with one another out of a sense of security. And that is really sad!

Sarah Palin Psychic Profile: Peggy Rometo on Why Alaska's Former Governor Will Bow Out of 2012 Presidential Election

You gotta be kidding me right? A fake interview and fake responses based on this psychic chicks intution? Perhaps whoever wrote the Disclaimer should consider a career in politics. It’s the best thing I’ve ever read!

wOw Reports: What News Matters to You – And Why?

The news I want covered is the economy. The real economy and not this growing ember story out of Washington that suggests that we are in an economic recovery. We have lost over six million jobs and over 3.8 million homes have been foreclosed upon. We are still losing over a half million job a month but the word out of Washington is: unemployment numbers are falling.

Why isn’t the Obama administration being more proactive for the people who voted him into office? It’s obvious that the guys in the very expensive three piece suits guide the economic policies in this country and from the look of that policy the gutting of the middle class is of primary importance.

It is rumored that Obama’s handlers won’t let anyone near him that disagrees with the current policies. How is that any different from the previous administration? Where is that fabled "change" that Mr. Obama spread across the nation like a mantle of peace and hope in the days that he stumped the country seeking votes and declaring that change was the operative word that would make his administration different?

The self-righteous always chime in when the issue of helping people who are losing their homes with "I don’t feel sorry for those people who signed for those ARM loans or bought more house than they could afford. I’m just fine and why should I help them?" The statements are callous and cruel. It’s like telling a hungry child "I have a nice warm dinner and dessert, it’s not my fault you choose the wrong parents." These same people don’t have a problem with tax cuts for the rich and most of them are far from being in the top 1 %, in terms of income, in this country. Old women/men and veterans are losing their homes. People who have worked decades and yet there is no help for these people. The so-called foreclosure rescue plan floated by the Obama administration, the HART Plan is a sham. The plan only helps those who have never missed a mortgage payment. If you haven’t missed a mortgage payment, you don’t need help. If you live in a state like CA where a whole lot of mortgages do not qualify for Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac loans are simply left to dangle in the wind because there are very, very few jumbo loans to provide a rescue to these people who may have lost a job or a fast heading towards foreclosure.

Paulson and Geithner decided to support the guys on Wall Street and the banks by making sure that they could wseather the recession. And who is making sure that the average American can weather the near depression that is sucking jobs and homes out of the economy at an alarming rate everyday? Yes, there are some people who care but none of these people are in the Obama administration.

What happened to that man who stated he most admired Abraham Lincoln? Obama’s words are eloquent but his actions are more than disappointing. To deal with the economic collaspe that may still be chugging like a locomotive towards total destruction, Obama and his crew need to be proactive in a way that puts real jobs back into the economy. This tap dance that the administration are doing with the bankers and Wall Street execs who are fighting being regulated in any way is simply insulting to the people who voted for Obama. Regulate the industry, demand that banks open their books and have their loan portfolios reviewed, ensure individual states that they will have the operating capital necessary to educate our children and provide for the disabled. To read that Obama intends to cut medicare/medicaid benefits in order to fund single pay health insurance is ludicrous. Can’t anyone in DC see that if the insurance companies that the single pay insurance is a good deal, that it’s a clear indication that they know their going to reap colossal profits? How else can they insure 47 million uninsured Americans unless the government requires everyone to have health insurance?

I’m too old to be an alarmist, but the journey upwind just doesn’t look to bright. It would be nice to have journalists just to report the facts and not just the soin of the day. But I guess that’s just asking too much for a country caught in a handbag on its way to hell!

CIA's Leon Panetta Fires Back at Pelosi's Allegations Over 'Misleading' Comments

You know…all of this conversation about whose sniping (as in snipe) whom. Theinteresting thing is that Leon Panetta wasn’t in the CIA in either August or September of 2002 (August is the month waterboarding occured and September is the date the CIA made its appearance and report to Pelosi and crew) , so how can he vouch for what happened long before his arrival! It would simply be nice if people really assmbled the facts before, BEFORE they start to tar and feather.

Marlo Thomas Wonders: 'Will They Ever Care About the Right Things?'

The problem of people, rather Republican or Democrat, being able to "care about the right things" is a very large problem. The last two responses the to the question reveals just how misinformed and uninformed so many people still are about what exactly occured during the Bush administration and why it’s become Obama’s and our problem. The issue of abortion, a moral issue and not a political issue, should be handled just like the moral issue of slavery and whether or not all men and/or women are created equal.

There is abosolutely no way to change the monds of people that have made up their mind that they know and understand the truth, when in fact, what they purport to know and understand is just not reality.

If CRUX understood that our economy has been under assault because of various types of deregulation and so too have laws the govern exactly how business is transacted led to a worldwide economic collaspe, not Barack Obama. But because many of us prefer to study our navels rather than to really become informed, we dig our heels into the sand, point fingers and wag our heads and say, "it’s that guys fault."

If we don’t wake-up soon as a nation, if we continue to think that the guys in the suits are our friends as they continue to increase the interest on our credit cards, take our homes and receive funds fromus so that their lives are not affected by the current economic turn-down, the discussion will become moot very, very soon.

Wake-up! The view isn’t pleasant but we’ve got to start to come together as a nation in order to simply survive. It just looks like we’re not in a depression….but looks and now are economic stability as a nation are fleeting.

FOX News's Sean Hannity Agrees to Be Waterboarded for Charity (Video)

Hannity’s response: ….what’s the big deal having your head stuck in a bucket of water? Once again it seems as if he is way shy on complete information. I doubt that his kind, uninformed offer to be water boarded will actually happen. It really is time for everyone in our country to make an effort to be more responsible - we’re hanging by our finger nails on a high precipice and it really doesn’t matter who got us here. The point is, we’re all about to go under!

Carlie Beck Student Defends Tattling on Nude Playboy Coach (Video)

It’s more than difficult not to see the anger in the young girl and her mother towards Ms. Beck. Like it or not, "Playboy" happens to be the last remaining classy so-called "skin" magazine.

What people do in their private lives, unless they’re molesting children, is just that, private. Morality is based on personal biases.

If you look at what our young people are exposed to daily in the media, what is passed around on Facebook, et al by teens, it is impossible not to assume that the student’s actions, and in turn her parent’s response to her teacher’s photos in Playboy, was nothing less than vindictiveness.

Laura Ingraham Guest Host Tammy Bruce Calls Michelle Obama 'Trash' (Audio)

You know…it’s so bogus for people to talk about "putting things in children’s minds." I’ve been black all of my life…and I don’t get blacks folk, unless they’re trying to get picked up by a conservative cable TV show or get on CNN as the next black face to talk against the Obama’s.

When you grow up poor and minority in this country, no one needs to put that idea in your head…It’s a fact! And verytime a minority or black child takes an exam…like the SAT, etc…the first thing they have to do is list their race. And what federal form have you filled out recently that didn’t ask for your ethnincity?

It’s has been proven that college graduated taking the GMAT score at least twenty points lower on the test when asked to supply their race…because as everyone knows: "blacks aren’t competitive academically!" I wonder why? And by the way, for those of you who can’t recognize a rhetorical question, it was.

Just as surly as people in this country have very little idea and much less desire to know people from the darker continents, so too are the same people who don’t want to know about the darker people who lare Americans and live in this country.

The only people worse off in America than minorities: poor whites! No one even talks about them and that is a tragedy!

Liz Smith: Internet, Cable and the Recession

Ah…but each individual can make a change. Just as the gentle flapping of the wings of a butterfly in Africa can turn into a Tornado, so too can an individual affect and change the world about them. There was Mahatma Ghandi, Martin Luther King Jr., Princess Duiana, each an individual committed to making a difference and a change! If each of us just endeavored to deny selfishness, committed to making a difference, stopped fearing what we peceive as different, then possibly individuals would move mountains, cure disease and mend broken hearts. Change happens one person at a time whether the change that occurs is for good or bad!

Judith Martin: 'It's Raining – The Government Is a Thief'

What’s happening financially is not the media’s fault…but the media has relinquished its duty to reporting the facts! What has happened to the MSM and its obvious deflection towards entertainment news and totally supporting the agebda of the right is deplorable and very, very sad!

Sen. Grassley: AIG Execs Should 'Resign or Go Commit Suicide'

The sad news: the bonuses were paid off the day before the news hit the media!

Meghan McCain Bites Back at Laura Ingraham

Unfortunately, Libra Lady, it isn’t shocking that some women feel it’s A-okay to attack other women about their dress size, their make-up and even their choice of a significant other (male or female). As women, we’ve all grown-up with these types of women and somehow, despite Women’s Lib and the Feminist Movement, we still find ways to belittle and attack other women. The only shocking thing is that we haven’t found ways to be more supportive of one another. And that’s a shame!

Robin Givens on 'Larry King Live' Recants Tyson Abuse, is Sad for Rihanna (Video)

A side note: to "recant" means to withdraw or repudiate a statement." In other words, Robin Givens did not "recant" her previous statements about abuse, she affirmed her previous statements. Come on ladies, we can do better than this!

Pelosi Tells Maddow: Leave Fewer Troops in Iraq, Prosecute Bush Crimes (Video)

This is probably the wrong forum…I will duplicate my effort in Open Salon. I am sorry to see such flagrant, mean spirited comments, but of course, we women have been known to snipe one another just for sport.

An Open Apology to Nancy Pelosi!

Let me be the first to apologize to Speaker of the House Pelosi. I was more than dismayed, angry actually, because when you first took office you stated clearly that you would not pursue Impeachment against the then sitting President and Vice President. It was clear then as it is crstal clear now that our constitution and our lasw have been manipulated and violated by the last administration!

That siad…I think it was just short of heroic that Speaker Pelosi stated uneqivocally on a national cable channel that investigations and prosecutions should occur.

It’s time to stop nit-picking and demeaning one another ladies. if you can’t bring something positive to the discussion or at least substantive, you only continue the myth that women are incapable of thinking and being fair.
