Whoopi Goldberg on the Woodstock Generation, Then and Now
I thought all the members of the View stated they had resigned their contracts????
How can you ABHORR Sherrie and Elizabeth????
The whole point of the show is that they all have different views and opinions and lifestyles.
I love that they can disagree and still be friends-MEN could never do that!

Mr. wOw's Very White Moment
Get Over It People!!!!
this is 2009—-we are closer now to becoming one than ever before
.No one NOW can blame any one group for their past history—long gone.
Sure there will always be fanatics! And I mean on all sides…..
I live in Massachusetts in a city where I as a white woman am the minority.
I love the diversity of culture etc…..education-thats what it is all about.
We all want the same things in life…..
Are there things you would never tell your best friend, but would tell your doctor? And vice versa?
interesting!
thanks…..
still it seems you can’t beat the medical system they always have themselves covered somehow.
in my case they are at fault and there is no excuse
was I supposed too know I had an abnormal EKG?
and a MI.
The Cardiologists that did my surgery is the one who told me to get a lawyer—I haven’t though…..

How to Die Well in America: A Conversation With Jane Brody
I am 50 and I hope for the same—I hope she gets her desire and what a good thing you are doing bringing this to the forefront.
Medical personnel are usually at a loss for words when someone is diagnosed as terminal at a young age.
I remember a 25 year old being told right out after waking up from surgery by an MD that her cancer in her breast had spread thru her whole body and was so serious there was nothing anyone could do to save her— she had maybe a year if she went to a New York Clinic for experimental treatments -all FDA approved—
then he just walked out of the room and left me standing there!
She grabbed a picture of her 3 kids all under 6 I might add and started screaming hysterically,it was awful. All I could do was hold her in my arms.
She had just moved from across the country and knew no one—her husbands job had transferred her here. I did keep in touch with her off/on for that almost 2 years she lived.
All she wanted was to see her 2 daughters make their first communion(catholic) and she did make it—shunt in her liver and all…..
At her funeral I remember they played ”the circle of life” I think of her everytime I hear it still—-she would be 45 years old now……………
Are there things you would never tell your best friend, but would tell your doctor? And vice versa?
yes I too find that people on the internet come and go-not all but most—- in my previous letter I was speaking about friends I had had since I was 4 years old-went all thru school with-college-marriages-children-everything-
Being a Nurse I took my vacation time to care for their sick parents—make house calls in the middle of the night….drop off food if they were having a tough time—-mail $$ in cards unsigned if I knew they needed it—I was always a GOOD friend—I gave TOO much I see now because when my luck ran out—when I lost all-health wise and $$$ everyone slowly disappeared…I will never get over it as long as I live.
I am a little bitter because I was a single parent working full time doing all for everyone and it was never returned. I took time away from my own family for theirs.
They were like my sisters….still hurts….nothing could ever change it now.

I hate to hear bad MD stories but the are sooooo tru as I have said before—and THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR IT—-
I went to one of the biggest medical cardiac hospitals on the east coast by ambulance-I was left in a hall—the nurse drew my blood but left it on the counter for 6 hours (never went to the lab) N one even knew who I was I think—-& hours later I got out of the stretcher and told them I was leaving as I no longer hadpain and no MD had even looked at me. They made me have an EKG-told me I had gastric reflux and sent me home—-I HAD A HEART ATTACK—-it showed I was in heart block on the EKG but no one looked at it until I returned to the ER 2 months later with——guess what???? another heart attack???98% totaal heart block that required emergency surgery and the surgeon told me I was very lucky to stillbe alive—-should I lawyer up????would you???
Dear Margo: An Unfortunate Draw in the Parent Lottery
The first letter with the Gay Young Man—are you telling him to go to his CHURCH??? hahaaha not where I live!
He needs to find a support group of other Gay Young Men—they are walking the walk—let them do the talk—only they really know what it is like.
I am not gay but I will say the comments I have heard people around me make chill me to the bone.
If I get really annoyed I always say to that person—”may God Bless your life with many Gay Children/Grandchildren —-that usually shuts them up.
Pure ignorance——
Are there things you would never tell your best friend, but would tell your doctor? And vice versa?
I have been disabled for almost 10 years and have seen dozens of Doctors—-
They TALK to you???????
I must be missing something!
I am a nurse and they don’t even talk to me—I have to play phone tag and track them down and stay on top of them to do their job.
They overload their visits-what the average visit is 15 minutes they say?
Most times I am sure they do not even have a clue who I am or why I am there- I HAVE TO KEEP TRACK!
Yes they ask questions like
are you depressed?
do you have a husband?
you know you are overweight?
All those STUPID questions they all ask women after all
it is ALL IN OUR HEADS RIGHT? LOL
Anything really deep or private I tell NO Md-
once he charts it-
it is an open book to everyone who works in the hospital-
take my word for it.
As far as friends????
I always had so many in my life all ages shapes and colors——
Get sick for a few years and POOF they majically disappear?
Even childhood friends.
Hard lesson to learn.
We realy are alone.
Do you drink coffee?
I LOVE the way it smell especially in the morning—but I HATE the taste!
Even when I had to work nights and everyone would be drinking gallons of black Coffee0Nope not me!
I am a TEA Lady! They tell me I drink it the ""Irish way"" with lots of milk and sugar—haha
