Sen. Feinstein Tells Obama: Let Senate Weigh Torture Prosecution

Ok, pay attention now.  Politics is a method which is used in the United States to address the issues like the economy, jobs, the impact and direction of our laws, military, education, social programs, and much more.  There are the major tiers of governance; the Federal, State, County and City.

All these levels of governance are determined by the vote of the "People."  The "Leadership" is elected by the "People" which includes the Executive and the Legislative bodies - and the Judicial System is also an election by the people, except for those positions which are first nominated, and approved by the legislative body.  Since we the people elect our legislators, the selection process is still indirectly under the control of the American People.

It seems some people do not comprehend these bits and pieces of our Democracy.  The President is not going to make quick, harsh decisions about such major issues without first having ALL the facts.

Thank God we live in America!

Sen. Feinstein Tells Obama: Let Senate Weigh Torture Prosecution

Stop the lies. There will not be any "investigations" it is a diversion. By Kelly In Texas on 04/23/2009 11:09 am

I am one of those who believe this kind of treatment is torture, and would not wish it on anyone.  I may feel like killing someone if they hurt or killed my family, but, I would not want to torture anyone.

For those of you who say this is not torture - because it only lasted 20-40 seconds - YOU experience it, THEN tell us whether it is torture or not!  John McCain who seems to be held in high regard since he was tortured, says it is torture!  How much evidence does anyone really need before realizing any form of cruelty is considered torture, as I understand the Geneva Convention.  AND, should the USA be linked with Vietnam or China, or whomever has tortured people?

Is that what we want our country to be associated with?  I pray NOT!

Psssssttt ... It's Joni Evans's Birthday Today! Let's Make It a wOw!

Joni,

I stopped by to wish you a very happy birthday, and for some reason it didn’t show up.

Thank you for all you do, and thank you for the WoW site!  It feels wonderful to have a special place like this for women.  What an outstanding idea.

I pray this is a birthday which you will remember for many years to come.  Since you have touched so many lives, I hope in some little way we are able to show our appreciation for the difference you have made in the world.

Warm Regards,

Ro

Kryssi K,

Just noticed your inquiry - ahem -

Not really going anywhere.  I feel like I have little more to contribute, and most of what I do write gets me in more trouble, or in a kind of funk - I thought getting rid of GWB would solve ALL the problems…

Now, we have to clean up the mess and listen to the rePubs whine and raise a ruckus and continue to wreck havoc on the lives of those who simply want to get on with our lives…

And, I am almost always sticking my foot in my mouth, here … rather, fumbling over my fingers and forgetting to fixit.

I don’t even get on the computer that much anymore.  So, that’s about it…

I will miss you Kryssi, Serena, Emcye, Suzanne, and many many more.  Be gooder, tho’

By Suzanne de Cornelia on 04/07/2009 3:25 am It is so neat that so many people really do care about the critters.  Here, I am always vigilante because I fear someone will think it fun to skin a squirrel, or some such horrid freaky thing!  I live around some good people - but, there are still those passer-bys who are questionable.

There you go again!  You have such a fun style of writing, on here.

I am a Gemini - don’t-cha loves me too???

Remember my telling you all about the squirrels I’ve been feeding?  Along with all the birds - quail, and so on…

Well, word seems to have gotten around!  I have to buy over 50lbs of bird seed and sunflower seeds a month, now! My fav grocery clerk says; "Gee, the animals all eat better than you do!"  I think sad, but true… :(

I don’t know if I will be back on here, or not.  So, I just wanted to be sure to say adios, and thank you for the memories!  Take care, you all.

Is Twitter Ruining Society? (Video)

It occurs to me we have finally become what Orwell and others have written about the future!  "The Book of IT" an example of a society which has lost its sense of individuality, and purpose.

So, have we come to the place in our world, which most of us abhor?  Or, thought we did?  Is it enough to feel individuality - regardless whether it is real or perceived?  Are we all simply puppets being played with, by those with REAL power in the world?  Just a musing here…

Kryssi,

How come the clock here, is so different from my computer clock?

Well… I have to be obnoxious for you, then - ok?  I live alone - talk is good for me.

Jane Wagner Care-Toon: Home Foreclosure

Kryssi K,

I just found out MySpace has a lot of problems with bugs and viruses and such - so, I uninstalled it from my computer.  Just wanted to let you know what I was told about it…

Jane Wagner Care-Toon: Home Foreclosure

Jane,

Thanks for bringing this up.  I have yet to use twitter, because I heard I can never delete or remove my information once I start.  Can you tell me if this is true?  If so, I do not want to be involved in it.  If not true, it could be a lot of fun, I think.

I haven’t yet pursued it, I haven’t been on my computer that much lately.  Thanks again for the topic.

Jane, I do not know if you include me in those numbers you hope will stick around - I too, am one who stays only to see what new concepts you come up with, and what other like-minded people have to say about substantive issues.

I am disgruntled with the lack of open-mindedness from some on this site, and feel so disappointed when there is such trivial squabbles about issues which seem to me to be so important in this day of chaos and negativity - still.

But I have this frustrating tendency to feel nothing but GUILT (almost to the point of shame) where others would simply feel grateful. This case is no different, unfortunately. By Kryssi K on 03/30/2009 1:04 am Kryssi, And, well you should!  I don’t have it!!  LOL u know i am j/k don’t u? I think it is great that you are doing so well.  So, stop with the crap and enjoy it.  <me being a smart ass> At least you have offerred folks a place to stay, if needed.  It’s more than many others would do.  So, be grateful you have it to give… ok?

Kryssi K,

Thanks, me too!  I also like the lion and the lamb pics., they really show how tender life is and can be.  If the deer and the lion can get along - gee, maybe people can too!  Do ya s’pose?
