How sad this is.  I only heard on the TV news she had fallen and hit her head during a skiing accident… Then, Dr.s discussing something about being brain dead, and so on.  I didn’t connect the two, initially.  It makes me so sad!  It is awful to see something which seems so needless! 

Dr. Sanjay Gupta, I believe it was, made comments about the lack of a helmet while skiing.  Damn!  We really don’t know how quickly our lives may be taken from us and our families.

We may criticize and say she should have been wearing a helmet - but, we could also begin wearing steal plated armor to keep ourselves safer.  It is sometimes just something that happens -

Good grief! again… this is a poor way to get positive thoughts through a negative approach.  Repubs have been doing it for too long, we don’t need it on the WoW site, too!!!  How about turning the question into a positive, instead.??? 

Like:  Do you agree Universal (Health) Medical Care is the best method to provide Health Care for those who are unable to afford it, in the United States?

Of course, it is the BEST way to go!  We have the ability to have a GREAT Health Care system in the U.S., yet, it is absolutely appalling and embarrassing!  We hire Dr.s from other countries and make them get more education in the U.S. before they can practice under their own license.  That is a problem when it prevents good Drs. from practicing.  There needs to be another way to ensure they have the skills, training and education to practice here.

I knew a woman Dr. who had to work as a Nurses Aide when she first began to work in the medical field in the U.S.- that WAS degrading!  She was well educated, well trained and intelligent!  Disgusting practice we have here!

I am unaware of all the military orders and disorders, however, I do know that Speaker Pelosi IS in the ‘chain of command’ as third in line of the Presidency.

YES!  I so agree with you.  I used to really enjoy being here, now, it is almost a struggle to come back.

When the editors, writers, and so on, get embroiled in their own opinions and are dissin’ President Obama it becomes very offensive!  As a ‘poster’ and not an editor, it seems appropriate for me to make those kinds of comments - isn’t this the reason this site was founded?  For women to have a voice in the world?  I suppose we must accept that since the Bush-whacker was being so criticized there will be those to criticize a real President, as well.

I too, have had missing posts in the past.  I never bothered to follow up on it, however.  It seems as though we have a new kind of editorial methodology going on here - if you don’t like it, delete it.  Rather than sending it back to the Poster… just cut it out and no one will notice…???

If posts are that badly in need of censorship - perhaps they should consider returning it to the ‘poster’ and suggest ways to make it alright for this site.  Or, just ask us to clean up the language, or whatever???  I suppose deletion is the easiest of all other options - but, it seems a bit too harsh in some cases.

What makes an embryo a life?  I know it is a cell at some stage, I know it is blood-filled at some stage, I know it begins to make some kind of structure at some stage.  I just do NOT know at what stage it would actually be called "human" unless one can specifically view the human qualities, like; eyes, ears, mouth, nose, fingers, toes, hands feet, and genitalia.  Oh, wait that could be another species!  Or, maybe it is an imbedded, developing clone… If and when science can determine precisely when an embryo is fully human, then I will acknowledge it is not alright to abort it.  Until then, people, let us maintain some sanity amongst ourselves, shall we?

I could really relate to this (she too was raised southern baptist). I recall having a very strong sense of God in my life, at that age as well.  In the next few years I began to realize that I had different feelings than most of my friends, as a female I began to enjoy closeness with other females.  I did not know there was a difference, really.  It was just the way it was.  Nothing more, nothing less.  Not until a few years later, did I realize there was a kind of cloud over this whole idea.  I never felt that God loved me any less.  I simply began to learn that people were prejudiced and hateful toward people like me.  It wasn’t until years and years later that I began to feel that hatred, personally. Melanie, I wrote this so you would feel a sense of belonging and comraderie.  I too, have faith…  Thank you so much for sharing so personally, with us.

Meghan, thanks for sharing your wisdoms with us.  I cannot comprehend why so many, seemingly enjoy just being hateful for hateful’s sake.  It seems to be a little over a decade since this kind of behavior and attitude has blasted on the scene of the whole political arena.

Thankfully, Meghan has given us pause to appreciate that there really ARE saner people under the auspices of the Republican party.  It sounds more like the Republican Party I used to have some respect for.

Since just before the whole "macaca" incident, the Reps. seemed to be so tight on their party line, they were head butting, the rear-end of the one ahead of them… I watched and commented many times on so much of the antics which were being displayed, shortly after Bush went to the whitehouse… Allen, Fritz, and McConnell all seemed to be vying for the "How low can you go" as in stoop, honors. 

So many times I just shook my head and asked the T.V., where did the Republican Party go?  It hasn’t been the same since Rove got involved as a White House Advisor…  What really happened, I wonder.  Now, it seems so much of the same old, same old, same… Vicious, attacking, hateful, bitter, and accusing.  I NEVER experienced them like that before all this!

Hopefully, Meghan has struck a nerve with some of them.

Unfortunately, there are not a lot of women interested in this, but… alas!  I am! 

I have been wrestling and struggling with a method of developing energy from lightning, and I have an idea of how to create it - I simply do not have the where-with-all to develop the idea.  It is a matter of controlling the energy and activating it to work in a specific manner.  As in a coil which increases the flow and a capacitor or whatever, to store it, and a means of housing the energy as it sparks and flashes, and bounces around out of control - which ultimately needs to be managed and controlled in order to create the desired affect.

Why hasn’t anyone found THE WAY to do this?  It is so frustrating to me, because I have no science degree, or language to express the concept I am attempting to share with the world. 

Why haven’t scientist been able to figure this out, yet?  Dang!  I know there is a way - I have just discovered that GE and others are working on it, I am simply getting very impatient with them!  Our nation is running out of energy abilities, water supplies and other necessary commodities… WE need people to find sources for our lack of future supplies.  Where are all the inventors, scientists, and business people who should be working on all these necessities???
