I went to Target here near my house at 6am. People here were civil, we had some great conversations going on. No one pushed shoved or cursed anyone else and we all went out of our way to help others get what they wanted. I do however live in a small community. I would never even think of going to some place like Wal Mart or Best Buy, my daughter went one year and she said they were crazy and the people were like animals. Usually I try to be proactive in this area of early detection, but my own experience has taught me otherwise. In 1992 I had a lumpectomy due to a lump I had had for 6yrs. I was told it was cancerous but encapsilated. For 10yrs I endured have a mammogram once a year. Then said to heck with it. When I discovered other lumps, I told my doctor I was going to adopt a wait and see attitude. If they started to enlarge or hurt, then we could do something. He wanted me to have a double mastectomy right away. I said no. The thing is they went away. They were exactly the same as the first lump and they stayed some for a few months others for a few years. We are going on 6yrs now and I still do not have any more lumps and since I am not having my breasts squeezed flat by a machine they are no longer irritated all the time. I do still preform a self exam twice a month, but have not had anymore problems. I should note that the mammogram never detected any masses or lumps as mine always were on the side (near my arm) or at the top of the breast where the machine doesn’t reach. My approach is not for everyone, but it does explain why some of us prefer not to have the procedure.

My daughter and I were both saddened to see that Prop. 2 here in FL passed. Feel as if FL is still in dark ages! I believe that all people should have equal rights and no group should be excluded. For those of you who keep citing the Bible, I thought we had separation of Church and State! Thank the good Lord that I am Jewish and therefore have free will and do not have to follow the “Church” doctrines. For those who want to know, yes I’m straight.

No contest needed, my judgement is just fine and needed no explaination. You chose to compare apples to oranges as so many do in the McCain camp. Both men are upstanding men who serve at the request of the people, I happen to prefer Obama over McCain and you choose the other. It doesn’t make me better than you or vice versa. I could do the same and give you lists of who served when and where, but that is pointless. I told you of my families service to point out that we have always been ready to serve our country and lay down our lives if neccesary, just as McCain was willing to do.

Starting with WWII my family members have served in the armed forces either for the duration of the war or through to retirement. Currently my son is in the Navy (long standing tradition with my family) he joined in 97, now my youngest nephews are getting ready to enter the Navy to begin their careers. Together we have been thru WWII, Korea, Viet Nam, Gulf War, military and civil wars in Greece, Ethiopia, Turkey and now Iraq and Afghanistan. Although I was never a POW, I was prepared to lay down my life for my country along with the rest of my family. Were you?

Sorry, just stumble on this thread. Let me tell you that Gov. Richard’s was a great woman and statesman. She looked at Texas and said we are the laughing stock of the US because of Child Support Enforcement next to Tennessee and we will no longer allow this. She started the Child Support Enforcement Task Force and made her state one of the hardest to evade paying from one of the worst in the nation. She said we will not discriminate, but hire based on ability regardless or race or sex and she meant it. She wasn’t well liked when she started, but she became the greatest testiment to the Texas people; who now vote on whether someone can compare to her legacy not the Bushes.
