I’ve lived in Texas for many years and have been listening to the likes of Mr. Perry for several of those years. Elections are coming up, and since he’s not running for Governor, I think perhaps he has his sights on Washington, just like his predecessor, "dubya". It’s purely politics. He has to start getting his name in the news somehow, and what better way than to try and appeal to those right-wing, anti-abortion conservatives. And if you happen to be a not-so-right-wing woman who’s had an abortion, then by all means, let’s give you comfort and understanding so you’ll see the error of your ways. Oh, puleeeze!!!!!

Yay! Finally, a woman doing a late night talk show ~ and a gay African American woman at that! I love Wanda Sykes and I love that she was chosen for this new show. I, too, hope she stays with The New Adventures of Old Christine. It’s one of my favorite shows, and it wouldn’t be the same without her. Congratulations, Wanda!!

I caught that, too, Gramma J. She speaks incoherently and couldn’t think of a single thing she reads when Katie Couric interviewed her ~ amazing for a person who prides herself on that college journalism degree that took her four different colleges to complete. I’m so sick of Sarah Palin and all her cheerleaders. You actually have to have some intelligence to run for president (not sure about Bush Jr.) but I just can’t see her running this country. She wants to turn down millions of dollars in stimulis money for education, money that would go to the same special needs children that she champions. She definitly has her own way of speaking. I think they call it double talk.

Come on, Eleanor, when asked what she read she couldn’t come up with ONE SINGLE THING, not even the Anchorage Daily News, which even I happen to read and I’m from Texas. The woman is a total dunderhead, and if you and others like you think she’s a good choice to run for Pesident in 2012, then you’re the blind being led by the rediculous. Enough said.

That was just a bit too bitchy, DEAR. While it’s true that McCain enjoyed a temporary jump in the polls when Palin came on board, there were many republicans out there who were apalled at the Palin choice. I was one of them, as were many people I know. And your statement "…the media’s complicity in lynching Palin" is absurd. She was the media’s darling, right up until she opened her mouth. You cannot fault Charlie Gibson or Katie Couric for "lynching" Palin. She did that to herself. And as far as McCain’s campaign being dead before Palin came on the scene, I may actually have voted for McCain if it had not been for Palin. Obviously, there were a lot of other former republicans who felt the way I did, because let’s face it, President Obama wasn’t elected by democrats alone. In the end, Palin helped screw it up for the GOP.

I’m so sick of all this corporate double talk. Let me get this straight ~ if I were to renovate my office at a cost say of $10,000,000, this is going to "save me money over time" HOW????

The media didn’t cause this economic mess, but they’ve certainly helped perpetuate it. But should we expect any less of them? Depending on their individual alliances, they sensationalize every news story, or they create stories where none exist. Just take a look back at our last election. I have lost most respect for them. I subscribe to mediamatters.org. where many of the media’s sins are exposed.

Get over it, Megyn. You’re fighting a losing battle. I’m a 57 yo grandmother who happens to like Britney Spears. I also like Avryl Levine, who also has questionable lyrics, as do many of today’s pop music entertainers. No, I don’t let my grandchildren listen to specific lyrics when they’re with me in the car ~ I turn the volume down when I know the words are coming. I listen to my 13 yo granddaughter’s music so that I WILL know what the lyrics are. And as far as making sense, there have been songs throughout the generations whose lyrics didn’t make sense. I have yet to understand most rap "songs", and for heavens sake, I certainly don’t know what apple bottom jeans are, but I do like Flo-ri-da’s song about them. Britney Spears isn’t the first singer to practically spell out 4 letter words. Some performers who choose to actually sing the words get banned. If you don’t like it Megyn, then don’t listen. I feel the same way about the Viagra and K-Y Jelly commercials. Can’t stand them, am embarrassed by them, but I guess I’m stuck with them, just as you are.

After watching Angela Bassett on ER, I really don’t think she could pull off playing Michelle Obama. I don’t think she has the warmth or carisma of Mrs.O.

I agree with you both. I don’t really think she had a clue before she had this round of IVF, or that she even has a clue now what or how she’s going to manage. It appears she has let her mother take over the care of her first 6 children with not a thought or a care as to how she would manage once that house was filled with her 14 children. She is so irrational, that she appears to think she can actually breast feed and care for each baby AND tend to the other 6. Other parents of multiples who have been much more balanced than her have needed lots of help. I think she just assumed that when she gave birth to these 8 babies, that people would see her as something really special and would shower her with gifts, money, a house and car. I just don’t want to turn on the news some day and hear she’s pulled an Andrea Yates. Those children need monitoring and care, and if CPS needs to step in, so be it.
