Caroline Kennedy Like Sarah Palin? Well, Sort Of (Video)

DeBurca, Oh my!! I went to this link, and I’m apalled!! I hope the FBI monitors this link because these people are nothing but home-grown, hate-filled terrorists. Sarah Palin may not be very bright, but I do believe she’s smart enough to distance herself from these racists. It would be political suicide if she blogged on that site, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t read this garbage. It is very unsettling.

Caroline Kennedy Like Sarah Palin? Well, Sort Of (Video)

O.K., first of all, there’s NO comparison between Sarah Palin and Caroline Kennedy, other than the fact that they’re both women, SP on the far right, CK on the left. There, done. Caroline Kennedy is a very sophisticated, educated woman whose an author, wife, mother and education advocate. Sarah Palin can’t put a coherent sentence together, yet many Americans in this country were willing to elect her to be Vice President, a heart beat away from the president. Caroline Kennedy is asking to be appointed to a job that will only last less than two years, as one of many senators. There have been other instances when a politian dies in office, and a relative has been appointed to finish out the term. So what’s the difference? Let her get the appointment, let the people of New York see what kind of job she can do, and in Nov., 2010, let them choose for themselves. Give her a chance.

Have you finished your holiday gift shopping?

I’m still out there in the wind and cold seeking out gifts for my adult children whose continual response to “What d’ya want for Christmas, damit?!” is “I dunno..” The preschool and young grandchildren were easy. The older ones a little harder ~ the 13 year old loves gift cards (love her!). It’s the parents of these wonderful children that are driving me crazy. It’s also a tradition in our family that on Christmas Day, when we sit down to dinner (at my house) everyone receives one last gift on their plate. The gifts are all wrapped to coordinate with each other and with the table decorations. Again, it’s easy buying for the kids, but thinking about what to get the adults is a little more complicated. At the end of the frantic Christmas holidays, my family and I are all happy and satisfied and very grateful, making it all worth while. Merry Christmas to all, and I’m off to the mall!

Pelosi to Obama: Don't Try to Pull Any Fast Ones on Me

Two years ago, we voted a Democratic majority into the House of Rep., and Pelosi was top dog, promising great things. Well, we’re still waiting. Haven’t seen much from her as yet. I’m not even sure I like her very much anymore. It’s like she’s threatening our new president, “Do what I want, or else”. Has power gone to her head?

Limbaugh Blasts Powell for Criticizing Palin and GOP, Calls Him a 'Turncoat'

Rush Limbaugh is nothing more than a loud mouth windbag that is so disgruntled with his own life and lack of power that he has to find fault and scream and holler about anyone or anything that he decides he doesn’t agree with. He’s especially angry now because all his evil rantings did nothing to sway people to his way of thinking this election year. He’s like a small child throwing a big temper tantrum. He needs a big time-out! Unfortunately, his bosses think he’s wonderful and pay him big bucks. Everyone just need to turn him off for good.

Spike in Female Inmates Strains NH

Yes Belinda, believe it. I’m originally from Massachusetts (home of the Boston Strangler ~ remember him?). I’ve lived in Texas for many years, but my family is still up north. I have a brother that lives in NH. I think books, magazines, the media, etc., seem to portray a nice, homey, often pastoral image of New England. The town I grew up in was and still is very much like that. However, crime exists in just the same ways and the same magnitude as many other places in the U.S., especially in the cities. But those nice New England country towns also have their fair share of crime and violence. When I was a kid, we never locked our doors at night or took the keys out of the ignition~ that is, until my mother’s car was stolen by a 13 year old one night. Sad to say, crime exists everywhere today, even in little New England towns and big east coast cities. It looks to me as though the increase in women prisoners is a sign of the times, and the individual states need to address their rehabilitation process, or they’ll be building more prisons just to hold the repeat offenders.

Obama's Inaugural Outfit Mystery Solved - Almost ...

Belinda, thanks for the link, and you’re right ~ the tux is huge. Was he a lot heavier 15 years ago?? He doesn’t look heavier in old photos, so I can’t believe that tux ever fit him properly. Can’t wait to see him and Michelle in their new duds on Jan. 20th.

More Drama for Obama? Territorial Tussle Over Clinton’s Security

Merrell, I agree with you and DeBurca. This isn’t a problem Hillary or the President-elect are creating. This is strictly a problem for the various security teams, and I have no doubt they’ll figure it out before Jan.20th. Sounds to me like Marjorie would like to make it a big deal, with her “Here we go!”. Poor woman is going to be miserable for the next 4 years if she can’t come to terms with the fact that Obama won the election, chosen by a large majority. Put your big girl panties on, Marj, and get over it.

Palin Headed to Georgia's Campaign Trail

Hee-hee-hee-HA-HA!!!! That’s very funny, Lily! Wish I’d said it :-)

Palin Headed to Georgia's Campaign Trail

Oh my, I was kinda hoping we wouldn’t be hearing about her again for awhile, especially after the turkey debacle. Saxby better watch his neck. That woman’s not only a danger to herself but to everyone and everything she comes in contact with.

California's Proposition 8 Backers Try to Cut Ties With Extremist Fringe Groups

Kathleen, thank you for your post. Your words are very meaningful to me. I’m not from California, so I don’t have first hand knowledge of what actually transpired there prior to the election. I can only go by what I’ve read and heard. I understand that the Mormon church was quite instumental in the ultimate passage of Prop. 8. I do have personal knowledge of the Mormons and their beliefs. My daughters and I became involved with that church through their missionary program about 15 years ago. As a result, we joined their church. We were active members for about 4 years, until we really started to see the Mormon church for what it really is. The concept of “free will” doesn’t exist within the doctrine of their church. They like to pretend it does, but it’s nonexistant. They are the most controlling, all encompassing group I’ve ever been associated with. They want to control every aspect of your life. They are experts at brain washing. They have this odd belief that all faithful Mormon men will become “Gods” in the after-life, and have many wives, and children. They may not practice polygamy in this life, but they fully intend to practice it in the hereafter. They think theirs is the only “true” church, and therefore, all others should bend to their will. They have a deep seated dislike and disapproval of gay people, and up until the 1970’s felt the same way about African Americans. They call themselves”The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints”, but they don’t display Christ on the cross anywhere in their churches or temples, and disapprove of wearing a crucifix. Christ is not really the center of their church ~ Joseph Smith is. They are a very scary religious group with a great deal of money and power. The fact that they could be so influential in another state outside of Utah is rather frightening. There are many Mormons who are good people, but they are blindly led by their church authorities who sit in judgement of anyone who doesn’t agree with them. I definitly agree with Gary about coercion. I truly hope the state of California can work through this and repeal Prop.8. Thank you Kathleen, and God bless.

3 Prominent Women Named to Obama's White House

I’m one of those people who is of the firm belief that everything happens for a reason, even if that reason is not immediately apparent to us. I sometimes think that we had to endure the last eight years of Bush and all that came with him in order to truly appreciate the man that is Barak Obama. Would we, as a nation, have been so receptive to the change President Obama will bring if we hadn’t had to go through this trial by fire? I wonder. God chose this time for us and for the Obama family, and we need to revel in this blessing we’ve been given.

Candice Bergen Picks 4 Trailblazing First Ladies

Interesting that Michelle Obama made your list before she actually even steps into the position. However, I do agree with you. Her intelligence, grace, style and previous accomplishments foretell the success she will have as First Lady. I expect we will see enduring greatness from her. Even with all the doom and gloom we are facing in this country, I’m very excited about our new President and his family. They bolster my faith in this country and give me hope for the future.

Pelosi on 'Face the Nation': 'Several Hundred Billion Dollars' Needed to Stimulate the Economy

I think revamping the auto industry needs to begin with getting rid of the fat cats at the head of the major companies and REALLY trimming the perks and enormous salaries and bonuses. Before Congress approves a single dime, there needs to be a comprehensive agreement with the auto industry of how the money is to be used. One of the CEOs said they’d closed factories to try and save money ~ ok, and who did THAT actually hurt? ~ the middle class workers who lost their jobs and their insurance. Those CEOs have done nothing to cut back and tighten their own belts. They just want more money that I’m sure they’ll miss manage and then they’ll be back for more. Those guys need to be fired by the American people before we allow our money to be squandered. One CNN commentator said it well when he said,”They’re holding their tin cups, saying, ‘Buddy, can you spare a billion?’ ” We need to put the best interests of the auto WORKERS in the forefront for a change.

Palin Rallies Republican Troops At Governors Conference

Or how about the Staff at wowOwow stop promoting this woman and just stop writing about her?? The general consensus in all the Palin story submissions is that everyone is just plain sick of her and don’t want to keep reading all this garbage. I’m sure there were many other governors at this conference. Why can’t we read about what some of the others said? Come on folks, she’s still just a governor, and hasn’t got anything of substance to say anyway.
