Obama Says He's Not 'Punch Drunk' Over Auto Bailouts, AIG Bonuses (Video)

I was wondering when someone bring up Bush! Bush is not the President any more. When are you going to appreciate this fact!

By Lori F. on 03/23/2009 12:00 pm I believe many were very appreciative of this fact as of Jan. 20, 2009! And rightly so!

Bush Won't Criticize Obama, Offers Help

Interesting, Iraq is a better country today?  Iraq, is grateful?  Are all those roadside bombs that are killing your service men and women just a "token" of appreciation?

Iraq, is no better off today then when Bush decided to invade.  And how is it the war in Afghanistan belongs to Obama?  9/11 originated in Afghanistan, not Iraq, Afghanistan is just another one of Bush’s many failures, that President Obama has to deal with.

Amelie, if the tar sands go under, the people in the Maritimes won’t have any money, Quebec will lose much of it’s transfer money too.

Personally, I think the oilsands are a huge part of the economic engine of this country, and they are working on cleaner and greener ways of extraction as well as carbon capture.

Actually there were more protesters than that, however they only focused on the ones that made it into downtown.  There were several at different locations around the airport, and there were many signs on cars "Bush Go Home".

Unfortunately, many couldn’t get into the downtown because the major route of Deerfoot Tr. was closed for a time.

Radio Host Don Imus Announces He Has Prostate Cancer

Can’t argue with you there Diamond.

I wish Mr Imus, and his family the very best.  His work with children with cancer is very well known in Canada too.

He made a few mistakes, but I hardly think that warrants wishing him "ill will".  I hope he beats this.

Are you willing to accept more gov't regulation and fewer choices in health care to cut costs and provide insurance for all?

I’m Canadian, my mother inlaw is in her 70’s, she has had both knees replaced and one hip.  My father inlaw, in his late 70’s, will have his knee replacement next month.

The Canadian government cannot stop any citizen from seeking private health care and pay out of their own pocket, the only regulation is that any private care facility must also adhere to the Canadian health act .

I have several friends that have sought out private health care facilities for electoral procedures, because we do have "waiting lists" for certain procedures, so they jump the queque by paying out of pocket at a private facility, which in turn takes pressure off the waiting lists and the public health care sector.

If we didn’t have universal health care here in Canada, I don’t know how we could manage with our son. He has already received over 2 million dollars in health care procedures.  There would have been no way for us to pay that off.  Up until recently we paid a nominal amount into the health care system, the Province I live in no longer has health care premiums which saves my family 188.00 dollars a month.

Universal health care has many advantages, you won’t go bankrupt receiving medical care, the big draw back is that because the big bucks paid in the States to medical professionals, we now have a shortage of qualified healthcare workers, therefore long waiting lists for certain procedures.

S.J., no as a matter of fact my definition of "reach out" in this case, is to "represent Americans as a whole", would it not be more beneficial to the Rep Party, if they tried to reach out to those that perhaps don’t agree with them on every issue, to assure them they don’t have a far right religious agenda they wish to "force" upon the entire electorate?

Perhaps the Rep Party, could reach out to those that are "fearful" of their policies instead of always "demonizing" those that "don’t agree" with them.

Pelosi, Frank Fire Back at AIG

If public service workers like paramedics, firefighters, police can have their contracts "modified", and if the autoworkers union, can "modify" their contracts, why in the hell can’t AIG do the same?

The bozo’s there at AIG, are seriously going to give bonuses to the folks that played a huge part in bringing the global economy to it’s knees?  Ridiculous, and I hope Obama finds a way of blocking it, or at very least excludes them from any future requests for bailout cash.

DeB, a little off topic but I thought I’d tell you, Bush is in Calgary Alberta today.  Apparently there will be thousands of protesters there to greet him, I wanted to go but my son is sick with the flu.

You would think you would want her to reach out to those "outside" the party, ohhhh right "inclusion" isn’t in the Republican vocab.

Obama Comes Out Against AIG Bonuses (Video)

Pay them no mind DeB, some ppl are so uptight they have lost all sense of "HAHA".

I caught the sarcastic humor, and got a good chuckle.

What is the best present you have ever received?

Thank you Frannie Em, I thank God each and every day for the blessings in my life.

Levi Johnston: I Want Bristol Palin Back

Let these young people find their way, if they get back together great for them, and if they don’t, great for them.

For God’s sake leave them alone.

What is the best present you have ever received?

On my 34th birthday, my oldest son bought me a beautiful brand new Fender guitar.  Many years prior, when we had fallen on some rather difficult times, I sold my 12 string belly back style Fender, which I treasured, to put food on the table.

When my boys were young I would play my guitar and sing to them, and the card that came with my new guitar read

Mom, I know what you did with your guitar a few years ago. I miss hearing your music, will you please play us a song?

That meant a lot to me, because I knew he scrimped and saved to be able to purchase this new guitar.

From my middle son, many letters or homemade cards, telling me how in his eyes I was the Worlds Greatest Mom and how much he loves me.

As he got older, and into highschool, the cards and letters became far and few between, but I still have each and every one of them tucked away in "My Life Box".  Last week, I received a card, which he purchased at the local Hallmark store, he put "Mom I would’ve made you one, but I just haven’t had time lately, but I wanted to remind you that you are still the greatest mom and I love you", included was a cheque for 1,000 dollars, which he told me to go buy myself a "little something" with. I’ll save it and then give it back to him when he moves out.

From my youngest, a life lesson in patience, tolerance, unconditional love, and teaching me that the only limits we have are the ones we place upon ourselves.

From my husband, besides 20 years of love and companionship and devotion, the Valentines Day before last, he came home and asked me to come outside and help him carry in the dog food.  Out we went and when I didn’t see his truck I turned to find him dangling the keys to my new Sorento.
