LW#2, my mother was not invited to my wedding, because of an attitude very similar to yours.

If you recant your offer now, after you pushed for a wedding in the first place, you will damage your relationship with your daughter in more ways than one.

Her wedding day is HER SPECIAL DAY, not yours. Let her and her husband to be do it their way, and support them completely. Ask yourself, is it worth losing her ?  I doubt it, so please, get over yourself and love and support your daughter unconditionally.

Eleanor, thank you for your reply, I do understand what it is you are saying.  I guess in my opinion, if Obama does fail, which I hope he doesn’t and I’m not American, I wonder how that will effect America on the global stage.

Could you please explain to me, what it is that Obama is doing to cause the nation to fail. I don’t understand this because he’s only been President for 50 days or so.  Is it realistic to expect him to "fix" all the issues in such a short period of time?

Do you not feel some of what he has done is positive, for example stem cell research?   I’m just curious, I’m trying to better understand your concerns.

No I know it isn’t about a journalist being a "Dem or left leaning" DeB, I was just commenting on the fact that everyone that seems angry with Couric for that interview seem to be Republicans…not surprising of course.

Palin botched it, huge!  So huge infact that SNL was able to use Palin’s interviews word for word for comic relief, that in itself says it all doesn’t it!?

The Rep Party is starting to see they need a more moderate platform and candidate, Palin is so far right leaning it’s a wonder she can stand up straight whatsoever.

DeB, in this instance I hope you are wrong.  The Republican party needs people like Meghan McCain, for I believe for their survival they need more moderate voices, amongst all the voices of condemnation and judgement (ie: Rush, Coulter and Bill).

They need people that are less interested in forcing their own religious beliefs down the throats of others.

Meghan McCain, could be an up and coming Republican star, that could bring the Republican party out of the "dark ages".

Ohh I get it, if Palin is only interviewed by a Rep or right leaning journalist, that’s good journalism.

If she is interviewed by a Dem or left leaning journalist, and Palin can’t answer questions she should be able to answer, then it’s considered an ambush and poor journalism.

How ridiculous! Palin, fumbled, stumbled and mumbled, over some very basic questions, how is that Couric’s fault?

Congrats Katie, you did your job well.  Palin, unfortunately didn’t.

No kidding eh Lizzie R.  Couric asked simple questions Palin fumbled, being a Republican running for Vice Pres, she of all people should know and understand the "Bush doctrine". 

Not even being able to state some of McCain’s policies, her runningmate, only served to make her look uninformed and foolish.

Not being able to name what papers and mags she reads was the icing on the cake.

Palin, fumbled, but Couric gets dragged thru the mud on this thread, go figure! Just sayin’!

They were selling a Spiderman/Obama comic up here in Canada, I hope they decide to sell the Clinton and Palin ones here too.
