Mary, you’ve obviously risen to such an economical echelon yourself that you’ve lost touch with your sensitivity. I hope you never have to feel “crazy”.

What’s “uncanny”? That a daughter should look very much like her mother? I would find it uncanny if a daughter looked more like the lady that lives next door or a school classmate.

Rather than personally wishing that this interim Senate appointment were up to the voters, why not start a campaign to petition an amendment to the US Constitution? Wishing is a passive “thinking” endeavor which accomplishes nothing. Campaigning for change is an active “doing”, one which accomplishes…..CHANGE. The provisions put into place for interim political appointments were well thought out. They have been politically successful until recently; since the average American citizen become interested in a more “hands on” interest in our government. I understand this provision, accept it and am not worried about it.

Hey Belinda! This is NO small thing! So many job hunters suffer from a badly written resume. At a time when job hunting will escalate, your service offer is altruistic. I have to keep my roots done! It’s hard to fight ageism in the best economic times. I don’t need some young whipper-snapper looking at my gray and deciding that I don’t need to eat. Shoot—give me a job then I’ll let the gray shine!

Will the We the People organization wish to see the birth certificate of the MOTHER of President-Elect Obama to prove that SHE was an American citizen at the time of his birth? Perhaps they will want to see the papers establishing Hawaii’s status as a state in the United States of America and challenge the state’s authority to issue an American citizen’s birth certificate? I mean, c’mon! Bigots…they never give up the ghost.

The shame is twofold in that (1) girls are still pushed to “feminine” pursuits and (2) girls aren’t perceived as being as “edgy” in a traditionally male pursuit.

I don’t believe that marriage has EVER been a boon to womankind! We women, all, are better off without it. These days we no longer even need the institution to protect us financially. But I know that so many woman still buy the “love” angle that traps a woman into servitude. They long for the “companionship and love” (and many other angles) which the male culture dangles before us as motivation to “take care of their lives”. Wise up, Ivana.

The one important point that seems to be bypassed each and every cabinet seat nomination: President-Elect Barack Obama is the titular head whom these people will pledge to follow. It doesn’t matter what Susan Rice said, thought or did under the auspices of her previous appointments. Her job is to communicate and carry out the instructions of her Commander-in-Chief as his liaison and to do so with education, experience and competence. I voted for Barack Obama because I trusted his judgment. I’m not going to question it before we get out of the gate.

I’ve been watching David Gregory’s “Road to the White House” and “1600” and I’ve enjoyed him. He keeps the pace and volume of the discussion at a moderate level and he knows when & how to interrupt and change the subject. I haven’t enjoyed Tom Brokaw in Tim Russert’s seat, so I’ll give the new guy the chance to make it his own.

How can these women “convince” the men NOT to grow up and engage in warfare? They don’t bother any longer. In a culture where women cannot control the male populations’ behavior women are controlling the male population itself. Sooner or later, with no little boys to be influenced by the older males, the old men die and so does warfare. I get it. Tribal brilliance.

Congratulations, Ms. Amanpour! What I will take most from your achievements is this: “Amanpour joined CNN in 1983 as an entry-level assistant on the international assignment desk in Atlanta, and worked her way up to correspondent in New York before becoming an international correspondent in 1990.” because it teaches me (and hopefully all other women and girls) the advantages and benefits of starting at the bottom and learning your way to the top! I’m gonna take a page outta YOUR book, Ma’am. Thank you.

Once you start a bandwagon it’s hard to control who jumps on much less how they behave while on it!
