Hi Candis. First, my name is Candace McClellan (lol). Secondly, I appreciate your candor. I spent the first half of my youth living with my father and mother in White neighborhoods and the latter part with only my White mother in Black neighborhoods. My adult life has been lived as a Black woman in the diaspora. To quote the song, “I’ve looked at life from both sides now” and can say that I see the misunderstandings and resentments from both angles. Biracial or not, living one life makes it difficult to truly walk in the shoes of another’s life…except by faith. And I hope my ineloquent writing hasn’t been offensive to anyone in this forum.

Hi Ma’am. Here we are at odds again. You’re correct when you say that you will never understand. If you are White in America and have 2 White parents and lived in White society you will NEVER understand. I am biracial with a White mother. I grew up in the Black community. I don’t know why Barack Obama wasn’t offended by the Rev. Wright’s remarks. I don’t speak for anyone other than myself, but many of Rev. Wright’s accusations against White America are historically proven by the lives lived in the Black community. THAT’S why the man’s congregation sits there week after week. And until it can be openly talked about and accepted, America will suffer a racial divide.

OMG u R going nuts! Neither Sen. Obama nor Sen. Biden have children fleeing to the military to avoid JAIL time for selling DRUGS! Neither Sen. Obama nor Sen. Biden have been investigated for firing a ex in-law as retaliation for a nasty divorce. Neither of the Democratic candidates have a spouse who dodged a court summons for this investigation. The Republican ticket is mud slinging based on the ASSOCIATION of Sen. Obama to people he works with in conjunction with making communities better. And the guilt of these associates is either obsolete or understandable. How pissed off does a sister have to be at her ex-husband to make ANYONE destroy the livelihood of their nieces/nephews father? I don’t want a petty person helping to run MY country. I’ve had 8 years of that already.

Hi Rita. I know how you feel. It’s sometimes a shame that the information we glean here amounts to “preaching to the choir”. I rack my brain each time, trying to think of ONE anti-Obama person I might enlighten by passing the info along. But the saying is true: “Birds of a feather”. Hello Margo. Thank you for saying so eloquently what we all are thinking. My response is somewhat more sailor worthy. You’d never think from Gov. Palin’s comments during her debate that her son was going to be a soldier so that he wouldn’t have to be an inmate! So she promotes him as a country saving hero rather than a child corrupting crook? Wow. So maybe that YouTube video I saw with the young black man claiming to be the true father of Bristol’s baby is true??? Ugh. And so many want to paint our dislike of Gov. Palin as being based on her looks! Ugh!!
