O.J. Simpson Found Guilty of Armed Robbery; Faces Life in Prison

Hi Rocky. An American jury found OJ not guilty based on the evidence PRESENTED to them. THAT is the American Justice System. Each juror can only deliberate on the evidence before them, NOT his/her personal opinion, feelings, perceptions. OJ being found not guilty of murder 13 years ago was also the first time Americans had seen a Black man’s money buy him enough attorney skill to get him off. THAT is what all the “disgusting” celebration at the time was TRULY about…Black Americans had finally seen a Black man succeed where WHITE men have been for YEARS. But “we” all know that arrogant OJ Simpson killed those 2 blameless people and the Universe has brought Justice back into play by making that arrogant fool act as he did a second time.

LOL Sandbee! Wouldn’t it be the capper if that song could be played at his sentencing?

Who won Thursday night's debate?

Hey Susan. Of course I want to give her writers credit. That was some well written stuff! AND, she delivered it well, let’s be honest. Because she was erroneous on her points and smarmy in that delivery doesn’t negate my appreciation for good writing and acting. Thank you, Darling, I’ll have another martini. Make this one “dirty” :^)

Hi Star. I only said what I was feeling. Anything you see in my words is what you placed there. My disagreement with Gov. Palin is political not personal.

An Appreciation of Our Sisters on 'The View' With an Introduction by Liz Smith

The View” is my visual daily dose of women’s opinions (as wowOwow is my written dose) on important and trite topics! I enjoy the fun of it and appreciate the seriousness of it, too. As Frank Rich wrote: “The View’s hosts (including executive producer Barbara Walters) get away with this because they do what the more fettered media believe they can’t: address issues people actually care about—as opposed to those the respectable media care about—and say what they actually think. ” Rich wrote further that mainstream journalists spend a disproportionate amount of research and airtime trying to “balance” the flaws unearthed on one side of an issue by throwing up flaws for the opposing side. These journalists (print and media) often try to put forth their views as the final word. The women of “The View” just listen to these guys every day like I do and then discuss what they think of all they’ve heard…just like I do. The women of “The View” bring the troubling issues in to the light of day, so that solutions and education can clear them up rather than treating us like mushrooms…keep us in the dark and feed us manure.

I can tell that, like me, you’re a daily viewer Jayne. I agree with everything that you’ve said. Thank you.

Who won Thursday night's debate?

Hey CA. I’m sure her coaching team instructed Gov. Palin to turn away questions which made her nervous. To many it made her appear commanding. To many more, though, she came off as arrogant. The harder they try to pull off her whole act, the harder they fall flat. Obama’s team must feel secretly orgasmic!

Who won Thursday night's debate?

Susan, saw the correction and…I’ll have mine shaken not stirred :^) Anyway, I remember that debate and I’m not mad at her for biting off from Reagan. After all, he was a good speaker and she was coached. The comment annoyed me because, gosh darn it, she sounded like a smart aleck. And you betcha I had more respect for Ronald Reagan’s delivery because, heck, at least he didn’t pretend to understand me and my husband, Joe Six-Pack. BTW, does “Joe Six-Pack” sound like a left-handed compliment to anyone other than me?

Who won Thursday night's debate?

The willies? She gives me the wanna slap her’s! I’ve never liked the sort of person who tries to boost his/her reputation by besmirching another person by word alone. I mean, if you can out DO another person then so be it, but don’t talk all cute and smirk and roll your eyes as justification. Remember when she chided Sen. Biden with “Joe, Joe, Joe, there you go again reaching back into the past.”? You could almost hear the tsk-tsk! I’m wondering if she mispronounced “nuclear” intentionally. You know, like you might say another person’s name incorrectly…on purpose? Yeah, the wanna slap her’s, that’s what I’ve got.

Who won Thursday night's debate?

You’re right, Carol. Gov. Palin was more courteous to her opponent. And Sen. Biden did get his face time in too, to be fair. For me, though, she came off as insincere when she looked into the camera.

Who won Thursday night's debate?

Scary, indeed, Carol. Dick Cheney bullied control of the Senate in the same manner that G.W. did Congress. It is against the legislative precepts of our Constitution and shouldn’t have been, nor ever again, be allowed. As for speaking into the camera, I found that contrived. She appeared to be “speaking to the American people” but looked more as if she was ignoring Joe Biden in the same dismissive way that John McCain did Barack Obama last week.

Who won Thursday night's debate?

It must be a party bonding exercise, Kryssi. Have you noticed that this VP candidate pronounces “nuclear” just as the current President does? Side stepping questions is also a party strategy.

Who won Thursday night's debate?

I feel that Joe Biden “won” since he responded to each question with facts about the problems and formulas for change. There was substance in his responses and he had an experienced air about him (although I’ve known of his work since the early 1970’s, many haven’t). He promoted his running mate well and intelligently defended the issues that Sarah Palin used in her “attacks” and rebutted the “facts” she tried to display as Obama’s/Biden’s alone. He kept her respectfully engaged throughout the debate but did not cut her any slack because she’s a woman (something I find condescending from men—besides, a barracuda should be able to take it). I found it smart that he strongly rebutted her every reference by speaking John McCain’s name in relation to the topic. Nicely done, Joe. Sarah Palin came off looking very good though, and here’s why I say that: She appeared strong when she told Moderator Ilfe which questions she would and would not address as well as the time she mentioned Biden’s original opposition to Obama’s Iraq troop funding vote (but as I said of other attacks, Joe knew how to bat that back over the net, too). She appeared bipartisan when she used the tactic that said to Joe Biden a few times “we can agree” (instead of Obama’s “John is right”). She appeared confident when she said “Joe, Joe, Joe” as a lead in to one of her rebuttals. But that condesending smirk was there. The tone of dismissal rang at the end of her every statement. While I saw a seasoned politician in Joe Biden (which, hey, is who I want in Washington) I only saw a snide, snippy cheerleader in Sarah Palin. One who looks and sounds pretty good but isn’t very big on the facts even when she’s supposedly addressing them (nice house, no furniture). I do not want that sort of politician running my government.

Marlo Thomas: National … Phonetics?

Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with a…hug.

What was the best take-away your education gave you?

Hey Sandy. Not that I’d change my answer below, but I wish I’d said that. I’d surely add it on to what I’ve learned because it’s so true. Learning to find answers (as often as you need to) leads to worlds! And, btw, God bless ALL educators, because Kentucky only holds sway on bourbon and race horses :^)
