A Sarah Palin-Hillary Clinton Catfight? Liz Smith Explains on FOX News (Video)

E.E. LOVE it! Thanks for the link! I really needed to turn the visual around in my head from the thought of a Hasselbeck/Palin show. This link DID it. merci beacoup ;-) I believe that Carol is correct in her line of thinking. Hillary and Sarah each come from a completely different universe. Palin is of the flat-world people. She can’t hold a candle to HRC. An election between the two of them would be a landslide for HRC, no? And a catfight? Eeeks, the thought. What with Palin’s penchant for rifles in helicopters….

Barbara, you are absolutely correct. But that doesn’t stop them from speaking the truth about his anger management. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jyVq_iVgGRw

Margo Howard: Will Sarah Palin Become the Next Jerry Springer?

I’m with you, A.J. This voter suppression CRAP has got to end. We need an end to the tyranny. They can’t win on the issues, so they will do every other (read: illegal) thing possible to cap this election. I’m so tired of this. We’ve had to live through 8 years of it and we CANNOT sit idly by and let this happen again.

And I believe just that she’ll be, James. As well as reading up as much as her type can on everything she couldn’t answer in this election. I do feel that she’s got a taste of power and has her eyes on the prize now that she’s been in the limelight of her contentious right-wingers. She won’t stop at Governor of AK. I’m almost certain of it.

Jose, I raise my more than half-finished glass of red wine to you. My sentiments…exactly.

Monica Crowley: There's a Fine Line Between 'Maverick' and 'Ass'

It is so clear that Republican party has been completely forthright in the dummying down of the population. They had a complete idiot in the W.H. for the past 8-years who made a mockery of our language. They have a similar icon in Sarah Palin. And every right-wing pundit has put down the “elite intellectuals” from the media to the people whom Obama “associates with”. For cryin’ out loud, PhD. Wear those letters proudly and tell your party that it’s not WRONG to want to be smart and know more!

Monica Crowley: There's a Fine Line Between 'Maverick' and 'Ass'

Cynthia. Well put. I’m with you on this one. If he can be so mislead by his campaign (after all, no one recognizes him as the John McCain he “used to be”) then what’s to say of his putting in people like a Phil Gramm type in his cabinet. EEEKS. BAD CHOICES. McCain makes BAD CHOICES, people. That’s the biggest argument against him leading this country that I can see.

Barbara wrote: McCain handled his temper very well with enemies when he was a prisoner of war. whoa. Barbara! You really meant to write this as a way to support that he really doesn’t have a temper after all? Have you seen the dozens of his colleagues on record going on and on about his temper and how scary it is? He was a prisoner of war a VERY long time ago and let’s be perfectly clear: it’s a little tough to throw a temper when you’re a POW. Eeeks. That line of thinking scares me. I’m with you, Chips!

McCain Roasts Obama, Obama Roasts McCain: It's a Gentleman's Club at NYC's Al Smith Dinner (Videos)

Joan wrote: “Maybe we should have had more of these “roasts” during the campaign.” Indeed! I second that thought, Joan. Didn’t you all feel a sense of good well-up inside of you to see these two men take off the gloves for a moment? I mean, the McCain who “used to be” shone through at this event and on Letterman. He’s become a victim of his sad campaign which is clearly not guided by him. Last night was the real McCain. I would have liked to see more of “the real McCain” over these past several months. Obama is Obama - and he’s a serious guy which doesn’t surprise me that he can’t whip up the comedy. I’m really glad he gave kudos to everyone and asked them all to rise to the work they all have to do together to get this nation back on track. I nearly gave him a standing ovation for all of that.

Who Won the Presidential Debate? Votes Are In

Grandpa SImpson, indeed! That was a well-put visual, Belinda. Several networks were showing a split-screen so we were able to see every facial expression McCain made which was truly painful to watch. The man has no poker face whatsoever and many of his jack-o-lantern smiles scared me to the bone. McCain showed that he can throw a jab, no doubt. But his continued lack of any real substance in his campaign is, most definitely, his undoing. Rather than give us real particulars, as Obama did on numerous occasions, McCain preferred to throw a snarky comment in a bad attempt to throw Obama off. It didn’t work and I think that he realized it by the end of the debate where his facial expressions flew fast and furious. In the famed Nixon/Kennedy televised debate which did not do Nixon any justice, McCain proved that his attitude and age are not telegenic as he made one major visual faux pas after another in the debate last night. I think it turned off a lot of Independents who gave Obama the nod in the polls.

Whoopi Goldberg's 4 Favorite Authors

Very interesting, Whoopi. I like it; I like it. Jeanette Winterson is a favorite of mine - such a lush pen. Pablo Neruda, Milan Kundera, and Flanney O’ Connor diversify the fave author portfolio. “Seven Types of Ambiguity” by Eliot Perlman is my most recent favorite.

Loud-Mouth-and-Loose-Lipped Palin Owes Obama an Apology for This One, by Margo Howard

Kermie, thanks for the link. I just sent it to everyone in my contact list. If that doesn’t seal the deal on his candidacy, I don’t know what will. “America needs a cool hand on the tiller” indeed!

Whoopi Goldgerg Isn't Singing

Excellent post, Susie. Thanks so much for sharing that.

Whoopi Goldberg: Sarah Palin 'Is a Very Dangerous Woman'

Gui, I hear you. I love the idea of north-south-middle-west-east. This place is too big to have a central government. It’s too unwieldy. The right hand doesn’t know what the left is doing and vice versa. Look at the financial debacle we are in just because of that one simple thought. There is no turning back. It’s time to turn this thing upside down and start over.

Whoopi Goldgerg Isn't Singing

Funny that this posted only seconds after I sent this to my Mom tonight: It’s as if we didn’t pass a freaking bail-out at all. That $700B has done NOTHING to fix the crisis thus far. I know it takes time for these things to work, but my GOD! The entire world financial markets have been hitting rock bottom all week. European, Japanese, and Hong Kong markets all tanked! It sure shows no faith in America and our bail-out. After all, we are the “who” that got all of them into this mess. Surely, we’re making enemies now, no? Man, I just don’t understand financial markets at all. $700B means nothing to fix anything. And all of that crap they passed in the bill for “other things”…what the hell is that? I’m losing any hope in capitalism. It’s just not the way to go. But ladies, what is?
