Margo Howard: Thanks, Sandra Bernhard, for the Palin Jokes. Like We Needed This

The Daily Kos is your source and “SanteFe Marie” is the commentator? Rita, please refer to a more reliable source and speaking of credentials, who is SanteFeMarie???

Joan Ganz Cooney on the Real Reason Obama Didn't Choose Hillary

And isn’t it nonsense to think that Obama didn’t choose Hillary because of Bill’s financials?

Margo Howard: Thanks, Sandra Bernhard, for the Palin Jokes. Like We Needed This

Maurine, I definitely concur about Bernhart but when Margot states, “When and how did Know-Nothingism make such a comeback?” Who is she kidding??? Your candidate with “nada” experience is on the TOP of the ticket; Sarah Palin who has impressive bipartisan executive experience (after all, it will be the executive branch) is on the bottom of the ticket! And once again, I ask….”What are Obama’s qualifications?”

Joan Ganz Cooney on the Real Reason Obama Didn't Choose Hillary

I concur, Amy…Hillary’s getting ready for 2012. As for Joan’s analysis: whether Hillary was at the top or bottom of the ticket, Bill’s finances would be scrutinized. Obama did not choose Hillary as his VP because they just don’t get along and his pride got in the way. And if he had chosen her (and IF she had accepted?) we all can concur that the election would be a runaway for Obama. And what does that say about his character and judgement? Thank you, but no thank you….I’ll wait for the experienced, vetted, NOT “present voting”, BIPARTISAN Hillary Clinton!

Dr. Pat Wexler Says: 'Cindy McCain Looks Like She Cosmetically Enhances Herself'

Oh Lady Gator, you put a smile on my face and a chuckle in my heart! Can you imagine the pettiness of this piece and these replies? Meow, meow, meow! Thanks for making my day!

Liz Smith: Thoughts Over Last Weekend While Drowning in Palin Politics

Hi Patty, I too am an independent. But I think there was a misunderstanding here. I asked for Obama’s accomplishments. Once again, no one has been able to provide them. Bipartisanship is important to me (that’s one of the reasons I support McCain) and thus, the following comments from Dems: Former Democratic Senator and Senate Majority Leader from South Dakota, Tom Daschle, praised John McCain for working with Democrats on key issues. Senator Joe Biden, vice presidential candidate, said that he would be honored to run with or against John McCain. (How’s that one?) John Kerry, Senator and former presidential candidate stated that he has enormous respect for John McCain and called him a courageous and patriotic American who stands up for what he believes (and didn’t he entertain having McCain run as his VP?) Howard Dean said that he admires Senator McCain greatly and took it a step further saying that McCain was one of the people he modeled his campaign on because he is very direct and very blunt and nobody has to guess what he is thinking. Senator Russ Feingold said he loves McCain, he is a great guy. And of course, our Hillary, in her now famous speech says, “I know Senator McCain has a lifetime of experience that he will bring to the White House and Senator Obama has a speech he gave in 2002.”

Then I assume that “speech” is important to you (eg. Obama). He does quite well with a teleprompter, Patty, but have you noticed his extemporaneous responses??? I am more interested in deeds….talk is cheap and Obama spends his words frivolously. Just exactly what are Barack Obama’s accomplishments, besides the affordable housing fiasco in Chicago? Palin’s accomplishments are enormous and she happens to be the 5th most important governor in the states….again, quite impressive.

Liz Smith: Thoughts Over Last Weekend While Drowning in Palin Politics

Well Patty, you have someone who is in this VP position; Sarah Palin. She championed fiscal responsibility, cutting pork in the form of capital projects as well as larger symbols of waste, such as the infamous “bridge to nowhere” sponsored by Republican senator Ted Stevens (and yes, she was for it when she was mayor; she changed her mind which is something Obama does on a daily basis.) In a state that has been awash in oil money and political corruption, she also demanded real ethical standards and sent people who didn’t meet them to jail, never hesitating to challenge Republicans who were corrupt or ineffective (and reimbused the people with $1200 from big oil). And she was pro-development, supporting off shore drilling; for that matter, she has dealt extensively with the tricky energy issues that have become central to this year’s election, and she understands them better than anyone else on either ticket.Quite an admirable resume. “It should be no surprise that the Democratic response to the McCain-Palin ticket was to immediately attack by playing the liberal trump card that keeps Democrats in line - the abortion card - where the party daily tells restless feminists the other side is going to police their wombs. The power of that accusation is interesting, coming from the Democrats - a group that just told the world that if you have ovaries, then you don’t count.”

Liz Smith Responds to Those Who Want to Tie Sarah Palin to the Stake, Setting Her Afire Before the Nov. 4 Election

Star, inspiration is the key word…you nailed it… and Sarah Palin is quite inspiring! The state of Alaska comes in 5th in the country (not 50th) as to the importance of governorship and Palin has many accomplishments and demonstrates executive experience that is admirable. It’s amazing that Liz Smith can be furious at McCain but I fear that her anger is misdirected. The Democratic party and Obama have done more of an injustice to Hillary Clinton than the pundits, the sexist press, or the commentators! Liz, wake up and smell the coffee. According to Smith, only women on the left can be members of “the women’s movement” and that conviction is insulting to all women! I am a Former Dem (because of the deception and sexism that went on in the DNC) and I am thrilled to support the maverick and bipartisan John McCain and Sarah Palin.

Julia Reed: From Gloria Steinem to Norah O'Donnell, Misogyny and Sexism Are Fine if the Target (Palin) Is on the Right

Am with you and Star, Lady Gator! I couldn’t take the nastiness and “witch hunt” so had to take a break for awhile. On my return, I was ecstatic to see Julia’s article…thank goodness we finally heard an intelligent commentary from a staffer! It amazes me that most women on this site still support the party that told them, “hey, if you have ovaries, then you don’t count.” I

Lesley Stahl Asks Pollster Dotty Lynch: How Much Can a Controversial VP Pick Hurt a Candidate?

Kitty, I’m with you. Apparently, one has to be a woman of the left in order to be celebrated or defended. I have lost all respect for Leslie Stahl…she’s no different from the rest of the MSM, biased and sexist.

Palin Gets Tutored in Foreign Policy

This article is from the staff of wowOwow? Incredible or should I say UNcredible! Not only is the staff demonstrating sexism, now it’s age discrimination! McCain’s experience: 20 years military; 22 years as a US senator. Obama’s: 142 DAYS as a US senator. “But to understand the complexities in this world takes time, takes a great deal of understanding, some experience, and Governor Palin came to the table with none of the above.” And Obama, who is at the TOP of the ticket, brought those qualities to the table??? As Rudy would say, he brought “Nada.” “But from the day she takes office, Palin will get daily briefings and sit on the National Security Council with the president and secretaries of state, treasury and defense. She will be up to speed in her first year.” Palin can afford “on the job training”; Obama, candidate for POTUS, cannot.

Lesley Stahl Asks Pollster Dotty Lynch: How Much Can a Controversial VP Pick Hurt a Candidate?

Barbara, you go girl! It sounds like the 1960’s to me! I thought we had evolved. This has to be one of the most biased sites I’ve ever seen. Whoopi, Lesley, Liz, Marlo and the rest. We have yet to hear from the most astute, Peggy Noonan! We should be celebrating Sarah Palin (and wasn’t she amazing the other night!) Apparently, sexism isn’t reserved for men only!!!

Whoopi Goldberg: 'John McCain Now Is a Republican Talking Head'

WOW…you’re a breath of fresh air, J H, The venom is spewing continuously. My admiration of Whoopi has just been deep sixed. Is this the site I thought it was? One can RESPECTFULLY disagree with Sarah Palin’s political beliefs but give credit where it is due..this is the first time the Reps put an accomplished, amazingly talented, bipartisan woman on the ticket… they had the guts to do it! And after witnessing the sexism and the misogyny that went on with Hillary, I would think that many of you would be fighting this treatment, not contributing to it! Even Hillary came out today and said that she would not participate in the bashing,,,she’s been through it….the woman has class! A woman (with valid qualifications) on the ticket? Celebration Time!

Whoopi Weighs in on Sarah Palin and Reader Comments on Her Obama Post!

Yeah, at least this was a one time occurence…Obama frequented Wright’s church for 20 years….yeah, he knew nothing about Rev. Wright’s hate mongering…and he defended him until he realized it would be political suicide…THEN he denounced him. And I have some swamp land in FL I’d like to sell you.
