Whoopi Weighs in on Sarah Palin and Reader Comments on Her Obama Post!

Thanks, Frannie…I needed that. I just want to clarify something…I didn’t desert my party, my party deserted me. I wasn’t “the one” who didn’t vet Hillary for VP, didn’t even give her the respect she so aptly deserved by at least considering her for the 2nd spot, and most importantly, didn’t give her 18,000,000 supporters a chance to vote for “the dream ticket.” That disregard and slight was an “Obamanation” and Barack Obama, alone, was responsible for it.

I certainly am a Hillary supporter BECAUSE of her experience and yes, because I wanted a woman to “clean up the White House.” Hillary has credentials to be president and has worked beside John McCain on many issues (remember her statement…”.John McCain has the experience to be president, not Barack Obama!”) Hey, Dana, I take my cue from the woman I supported. When someone applies for a job, you ask for their credentials…I have been asking and asking for Obama’s credentials and NO ONE has provided them. I just gave you a list of Sarah Palin’s. Instead of questioning me on my choice, why have you not provided Senator Obama’s credentials? Read my post….I am a FORMER Dem. After the DNC (WE) Do Not Count shafted Hillary, I’m done. Again, I am now an independent and do a little research, Dana…check out that partial birth late term abortion that Obama endorses; check out Sarah Palin’s credentials…they’re valid, and impressive. BTW, go back and read my post….AGAIN, I am no longer a democrat and I have never voted straight party anyway…I’ve always voted for the individual…that’s what being an “independent” is all about.

Happy Birthday John McCain! What birthday wishes do you have for the presidential hopeful?

Mahalo, all I asked for were the accomplishments of Barack Obama and his “executive experiences.” Why so defensive??? I would love to be enlightened. Also, could you please let me know what “the change” is all about? I can’t get a straight answer from anyone…I truly welcome it. And yes, I did contribute and contribute and contribute to Hillary’s campaign. I continue to have the greatest respect for her and was devastated when the campaign was taken away from her. I plan on voting for her in 2012! Why the “tude?”

Kudos to John McCain for his maverick, intelligent and courageous choice (my party didn’t have the guts to do it!) Since the presidency is the executive branch of government, one would want someone with that experience. Admittedly, Governor Palin doesn’t have much experience but at least her experience is in that rhelm. Obama has had zero experience, nada, nothing in an executive capacity. Being a Mayor of a small town is still considered executive experience, and serving as Governor definitely meets the requirements. Running a small business also qualifies as executive experience…Sarah Palin has done them all; Obama, none. Most importantly, McCain is running at the top of the republican ticket with 26 years of experience; Obama is teetering at the top of his ticket, with no accomplishments or executive experience. (heck, I’d put Palin against Obama any day of the week.) Biden, the experienced one, is running at the bottom of the ticket. Palin’s reputation as a reformer in Alaska is credible: she eliminated corruption (and wasn’t afraid to attack Republicans) and wasteful spending, killed the “bridge to nowhere”, and balanced the state budget (Please please tell me what Obama has accomplished! The best predictor of future performance is past performance and Obama’s performance in Illinois was mediocre at best and downright harmful when you consider the affordable housing fiasco!) Palin is a “Washington outsider” she is actually the “change coming TO Washington” rather than “from Washington” (hmmm…sound familiar?) Palin’s expertise on energy issues, her experience as the governor of Alaska and her experience as a state oil regulator will be invaluable. Last but not least, for better, not worse, she is a woman… young, strong, competent, accomplished, and an anti-establishment Republican who isn’t afraid to speak her mind. Yes, she certainly changes the stereotypical face of the Republican Party!” Sarah Palin has worked as a bipartisan whereas Obama has just talked about it. She has brought about fiscal responsibility and lowered taxes, whereas Obama has just talked about it. She has challenged corruption in her state, in her own party, and won - and once again, Obama has just talked about it. (words are cheap and Obama spends them frivolously.) Palin has executive experience with an approval rating between 76 and 90%. Granted, the experience is limited BUT that’s 100% more executive experience than Obama’s. She promised to reduce her own salary and property taxes if she were elected mayor and she achieved both! My, my…a politician who actually does what she promises to do! That’s one for the books! As for the pro choice issue…with a dem congress, Roe vs Wade is NOT in jeopardy. Please consider this, though…Senator Obama did not vote for the BAN on partial birth abortion which is the killing of the BORN infant…please check out ” partial birth abortion.” We may be pro choice, but this is BARBARIC. As a Hillary supporter, I wish that my FORMER party had elected the experienced, vetted, bipartisan, respected Hillary Clinton instead of “selecting” Obama. Let’s face it the DNC was sexist and their methods were oh so questionable. I am so disillusioned by the democratic primary that this is one Hillary supporter who will be voting for the EXPERIENCED, bipartisan, honorable, and vetted John McCain! Sarah Palin may be no Hillary Clinton, but this woman has already earned my respect with her accomplishments, competency, and committment. Thank you, John McCain, for choosing a capable, “inspirational and powerful symbol”…”a woman of substance!”
