It would be interesting to know how Condie voted.  Everyone knows she detested Cheney and Rumsfeld. Must have been hard being so much smarter then those two and having Bush siding with them over her.  They say she and Gates got along much better but Gates does seem like the cream of the crop when compared to those two DoDo birds.

I was fortunate enough to have Grandparents from the depression and WWII times my Grandpa just passed at 90.  He was a pilot in WWII.  He lost abrother who was also a pilot who joined the Brit RAF before we were in he was shot down by a uboat in the english channel and did not make it.  They passed along many words of wisdom as I’m sure did your parents.  That generation was made of some tough stuff. They certainly understood what was really valuable.  I feel sorry for many of these people who have lost so much that are my grandparents age, it is just sad and outrageous.

Wonder if all the guys on steroids or male enhancement products like viagra will cause some of the same reactions.  They are full of testesterone.  For some reason I bet the science guys would hate to study up on that.  The Pharmies would be up in Armies.  Can’t take that viagra away.

I believe she has made comments about the fact she has differing views personally but feels like it is a personal issue between women their families and their Doctors and not a court decision.  She pushed through  higher Adoption subsidies and has been very aggressive in efforts to make the foster care system better for the children trying to make it easier to adopt children and infants from the system.  She has been an advocate for adoption and for sex ed our rates have gone done for underage pregnancies

I agree with you.  How many children are abused, neglected or in foster care, if the ones picketing would put their money and time where there mouth is and put their beliefs into action things would be far better for children.

As far as the Catholics go the Pope and bishops etc. don’t believe in birth control either  but I would venture a guess that most of  us on WOW regardless of politics have used or would have used the pill or condoms to prevent pregnancy.

The old Catholic joke around here is "What do you call people who practice natural family planning?  PARENTS.  Now that is the type of birth control that the Pope wants people to practice.
