Thanks Ernestine! After I watched the Emmy’s I went on line and looked up old Laugh-In skits… so clever, so fun! The cocktail intro’s were one of my faves. Say, why wasn’t Goldie there? I was amazed to see that everyone looked the same!!! It was especially nice to get a nod from our favourite celeb to us wOwers…. I get a kick out of it whenever it happens.

I was torn between I could live without meat (which is the one I chose) and Why would I want to… anywho, decided I’d keep the “cheeky” out of it and go for a more “sincere” response. I do LOVE my meat (had lamb chops last night that were yummy) if I had to I could give it up. I love just about every veg and bean so no hardship on that front. As long as I have my bread and cheese (cheeeeese mmmmm mmmmmmmmm)

Out of all the “celeb” responses Whoopi you come closest to my feelings on this. I have one child, she was a surprise (I was 38 when I was told I didn’t have the flu but was pregnant, true!)… we didn’t think we could have kids and were A okay with it… I didn’t want kids anyway. I decided that if the amniocentesis was good I’d go through with it and ONLY because my husband was so excited. Needless to say it was okay and she is now 14. Other than the usual “my god I can’t wait for these teen years to end” I now wish she had siblings. As age sets in and worries of being incapacitated in one of any number of ways I worry about her being left alone. In these days of enlightenment regarding mother earth I think a large family can have as small an imprint as a family of three. Most of my neighbours (most! it’s appalling) do next to no recycling… I do it all including composting, lights out, combined shopping trips, cloth instead of paper towels. So, there may be a well off family with 18 kids who love each other and support each other but don’t recycle and then there’s the family with 18 kids who barely get by but love each other support each other and recycle… which family should not have happened? Neither.

Yes there has been a power shift but not because of longevity (35 yrs) but because of a bout with depression a few years ago. Since then I’ve never really come back to me all together.

Brought a big smile to my face too. I think I’m going to have to pay a visit to iTunes… I only have vinyl with them! Ahhhh remember vinyl, going to the store, browsing through the stacks… sometimes looking for something specific sometimes picking up an album purely on the cover….

Boy did they ever!! You and Lily hold many of the same characteristics. Kind of similar story, Once when Lily was playing in Atlanta Georgia (or was it Hamilton? anywho) My mother and her partner went backstage and invited Lily for dinner and she went! It was a big thrill for my mother and one that she treasured not so much because Lily is a celeb but because she is such a wonderful human being.

I hope you’re writing Frank, I won’t press… sometimes this site can gobble up a whole lot of time and when I’ve got it to give I thoroughly enjoy all the participants but your insite, knowledge, humour and “frankness” were sorely missed, look forward to your drop-ins!
