Look at what congress said:  Rep. Weiner of Brooklyn proposed getting rid of Medicare due to it being "socialized medicine". I don’t believe his proposal included Social Security, since the discussion was about health care.

 Please note that although the GOP is anti-socialism…..NONE of them voted AGAINST it!  Guess their bluff was called, huh?  And I have more…..MY town Hall was civilised, no shouting, everyone sat in their seats while those at the microphone spoke, and all audience members that wanted to, got up and spoke…guess we learned our ‘good manners’ very well, huh?

And I have more—-did you want me to put up here some more PROOF?  Pharma wanted to raise the price of your medications by nearly 50%—-but Obama got them to lower their increases…and for those GOP who believe in ‘capitalism’…why do they NOT want free trade when it comes to the prices of the drugs they want you to buy?  Why do the capitalists want ‘price-fixing’ instead of good-‘ol competition?  gheez, there I go unveiling that I read and pay attention….sorry if that bothers you—   

 

 

You did better than me, Margie—I did not read the article..I just put it up there because it was from the WSJ, which means it probably was less left than something written by a left wing lobby…..which is what you seemed to be seeking….BTW, I jsut returned from a Town Hall meeting—guess who did not show up?  Our congressperson who happens to be a Republcan!

Margie—I have been watching, LIVE, on CNN today, all the Town Hall meetings they have aired in progress….Spector was the first one, then Obama, then McCaskill…I have paid very close attention to all the networks who are airing the town meetings…actually revolving my life around them…..first of all….this afternoon—BOTH Obama and McKaskill stated publicly, that there is NOT going to be a ‘single payer’ system…..you will be able to keep the insurance you have now—if you want to—-and if you want to go to the healthcare program supported as Medicare is now—you have that choice.  YOU have CHOICE! It was Broadcast LIVE ON tv…AS THEY SAID IT!  There were no actors playing the role of Obama or McKaskill…and the words came straight out of their mouths….without someone else interpreting for them….isn;t that good enough for you? 

 

Now ask yourself this:  WHY would Obama take your healthcare away from you? and force you to enroll in a government health care system?  HE IS NOT TRYING TO DO THAT!!!!!  His goal is to provide healthcare for those the insurance companies REFUSE to accept!  He is offering 44 million MORE people opportunity to have health care—not take yours away…..he wants to offer competition to the Insurance companies——you get to keep your medicare—-you get to keep your insurance with the insurance company you have now, if you want to……

He is—-right now—-I am watching it on CNN….it was clearly stated by him that there are those who oppose him..and some of those ‘opposing’ questions have already been asked——hurry as the Town Hall is just about over….

Welllllll…. I AM going to the town Hall tonight…as is my camera man to record ‘stuff’….and we have a ‘team’ that will be scattering ourselves thru-out the crowd, as well, to ask questions and listen to comments….We have been informed that there WILL be some ‘disruptives’  to spice things up a bit—-and because I have done some research …I have my questions ready…

There are HEPA laws—-but you calling is not the same as the Hospital calling.  Anotehr thing…we had a TRUST, and in the Trust, was my fathers’ wish for what should be done, regarding ‘keeping him alive’…he did NOT want to be on resucitation machines, he specifically stated such in the medical section of his trust—-YET!  We had to bring a copy of the medical papers to his doctor, his nurse, becasue they would not ttake my word for it, my brothers word for it, nor my fathers’ word for it…..they kept him on the machines for close to a week AFTER we gave the papers to them!  WHY?  Liability?  or so that they could get MORE money for his hospital stay?  It was totally AMAZING to me, that the amount of money I was billed for by the hospital, HAPPENED to be within $50 bucks of the amount of money in my fathers’ bank account!  I had to sell a car to pay off the doctors’ bills…..and the dining room table to pay for the ‘extra’ expenses on his paid-for-in-advance funeral! 

I know a girl who got frostbite on her toes, and had to have the toes removed surgically….she was homeless when this happened.  Stupid isn’t it?  I bet it cost the county more money to amputate her toes, and then put her on welfare, than it would have if they just gave her a place to live during the winter months…

We all know that we are poisoning the planet, pouring chemicals into our water, while chemical companies walk away from the problem they have created, expecting EPA to clean it up.  There are 2 Superfund sights in my area alone…..we cannot eat the fish in our rivers, and the air stinks in the spring and fall, so much so, that I learned not to open the windows without checking the winds first.  In 1974, I was poisoned by PBB—-when the cows were poisoned…remember?  My death sentence was given me in 1996, when I was denied helath insurance due to a ‘pre-existing’ condition….they found out that I was on the victim list, of the State of MI ‘study’ to determine the consequences to my body, over my lifetime, due to my exposure to the PBB—-guess what—I did not even work for the company that made it and screwed up, and then walked away!  

I have been micromanaging my time in order to spend time, reading HR 3200, partially in preparation for the Town Hall meeting tonight in my town.  We have been given a heads’ up that there will be some ‘out-of-town’ opinionators, tonight….

Standing behind the First Amendment….hmmm…Fox News can do so when they out and out lie…and the courts backed them up on that!  I guess it is ‘who’ decides that ‘disorderly conduct’ is ‘interfering’ against the First Amendment for freedom of speech…..

What is amusing to me is this:  In a sense, Palin has a point…We already HAVE a death panel…everytime someone is denied healthcare…..think about it.  There is a discussion brewing about the medical folks having access to the bank accounts of their patients…and people are using that idea as a talking point against the healthcare bill….What I find amusing is this:  FOR YEARS, the hospitals have been checking with the banks to find out how much money is in the bank account of the patient!!!!!!  BEFORE the hospital checked my fathers’ bank account, they were going to helicopter him down to U of M, to save his life.  AFTER they checked with the bank, they decided not to do that…why?  Medicare does not pay for helicopter flights!  The Insurance company my folks paid into for 42 years cancelled my mothers insurance when she was diagnosed with cancer—-so she stayed at home, bedridden, for 6 years instead, with ‘visiting nurses’ coming in to medicate her, and my dad to take care of her…. and then when my dad needed ‘saving’….they chose not to do so—-AFTER they checked with his bank….   

 

When the Nina, the Pinta, and the Santa Maria arrived in America (gheez I hope I have the ship names correct)…..they met the American Indian.  Well, the WOMEN of the tribes were the ones who CHOSE which male would be the chief…and if the WOMEN did not like the way the chief ruled, they chose a different one!  It was the WOMEN who really ruled the tribes—-no guarantees, no term limits for the chief—-a chief could lose his title in a day, if he did not do what the women felt was best for the tribe and its’ children……

I think we should go back to our roots, and re-instate this way of thinking. Gotta find a 5th grade history book and make xerox copies to send to all my friends….;-D

Welllll..here is what I think about the contribution to health problems….before ya know it—this newfangled ice cream will be subject to a ‘fat tax’…..so why bother making yet ANOTHER ‘bad for you and your health’ product to begin with? 

You know, after reading about the conditions, and the parameters discussed above, I would like to say this:

 

I think it is a good idea, and I am going to tell that to the IRS when I file my taxes this next year!  I am going to tell them that this is a one-time ‘borrow’ from me, and that I can only afford this pittance—hmmm—-correction, I cannot afford to give them more than $100 this year, due to the economic turndown I have suffered….there is no one that will lend me money, as I have already, over the years, both lent my one time, and borrowed my one time, from everyone I know…….and then I will also use as explanation, my IRA and my Stock Portfolio that was dipped into by Wall Street—taking almost EVERYthing away from me—-and that the IRS should just go to them, for the rest of my tax money!  Wall Street crooks ‘borrowed’ it—-get it from them!

In a real world, where there are hungry people who are also jobless…it is really difficult to NOT want to help them, even if it is more than once!  Community is more than a street name.

Probably will never try it!  It cannot be healthy.  Has anyone tried those ice cream dot things?  They too, taste awful!  A bunch of chemicals…gelatin on its own is good for the finger and toe nails….gelatin used with chemicals is not good for my body—-give me the old fashioned organic ice cream!  Ever watch ice cream when it has been too long in the freezer?  It is like glue!  What is that gum stuff they put in it to keep it lasting longer?  They can take that out too!

When you really think about it…everything we have is ‘merely loaned to us’ in the bigger scheme of ‘things’…when we die…they are ‘loaned’ to someone else…..an emotional attachment to ‘things’ is what causes those emotional reactions, when someone, who has no emotional attachment to things, ‘borrows’ from us….

When you really think about it—-my guess is that most who are reading this web site, have way more than they really need, to begin with…those that ‘need’ to borrow something, very often are afraid to ask…’ride’ often stands in the way…so when someone asks me if they can borrow something….my instinct is to say yes…as it took them a lot of courage to ask……now…those who are sociologically pathologic …ie scammers and grafters, are not part of my personal life…so I don’t have to concern myself about being ’bitten’….
