Is that her reward for inciting her listeners at recent campaign events to shout “terrorist” and “kill him”? She never even paused to ask her audience to calm down and be responsible. Appalling.

I have dated several men younger than me —I’m 59 and one was 15 years younger. It was great! Many men my age seem much older in attitude than I am. Kowever, I do believe it’s all about the individual and the chemistry between two people.

Absolutely, Steinem was as appalled by the strictly sexist attacks as anyone. I have no problem with Palin’s being a working mother (I was, too), or her being female (I am, too). I do have issues, however, with someone who has not “kept up” with Irag, plus her general lack of experience and qualifications. I also have concerns that she may try to legislate morality to reflect her own religious views if in national office. These are serious issues for someone who would only be a heartbeat away from the Presidency. And have you seen clips of the conservatives making snide remarks about Hillary? The same men who questioned her ability to handle a crisis or war and repeatedly brought up gender, are now falling all over themselves to rave about Palin.

Expressing concerns about a candidate’s lack of experience is not sexist, it’s smart and reasonable. The Republicans have questioned Barack’s experience, have they not? (They also said he was Muslim—isn’t that racist?) It is reasonable to question why, with a special needs infant, a pregnant teenager who will need emotional support and other young children at home she chooses to accept this huge job. If ever there were a family that needed both parents accessible, this appears to be one of them. If it were her husband nominated for this postion I would question why he chose ambition over family needs, too. Is the Republican Party not supposedly the party of “family values”? They keep telling us they are. And frankly, I question the judgement of any of Hillary’s supposed supporters who defend Palin and consider voting for the ticket which includes her. What kind of petulance would prompt someone to vote for this woman who in no way at all compares to Hillary in terms of intelligence, experience and ability?
