Susan, She may appear bright and alert (not my impression) but it is impossible to be intelligent and also think seeing from a distance Russian equals any kind of relationship to it other than geographical; impossible to be intelligent when can deny science, not care about Iraq, bilk/lie about over 1/2 your days in office staying at home and putting in for travel per diem, impossible to be intelligent and believe in that insane extremist religion…..on and on. There is a vast difference between that beauty pagent exuding livliness and intelligence. I think she is a dolt.

DeB—Front page just below the fold of SF Chronicle today…..may go to war with Russia. Just seeing that on the front page of a major paper made me sick. And people where I was tonight for dinner were all furious, spurting. I went with friends early who were going on to see The Women…but will see over the weekend. Just don’t feel like being in a theatre tonight. I was very surprised at how really irate sounding people were. This was a fairly nice restaurant not that full since early and so people overheard neighbors and all chimed in. Everyone really hates her the Kill and Drill. The tackiness (a crime in the City) bad diction, lying the whole thing. She is just so loathesome. I think the media led by Fox are MAKING this person a celeb to counter Obama. I think it’s media driven. Roger Ailes gets his talking points from WH and from Rove and then they megaphone that through all their programs and timeslots 24/7…same thing over and over w/ graphics/music. Very much propaganda style. Like Bush said, he had to repeat the same things over and over again to ‘catapult the propaganda.’ He actually said it. They are so naked about what they do. Like mobsters. “Yeah, so what? Deal with it.” That’s the attitude….very naked.

Hi Kitty, I bought it but haven’t read it. As someone emailed me in reference to herself I also need to “Step away from the Blog…..breathe, breathe.” Have to cut back…wasting too much time. Belinda, I think: 1) The corporatocracy wants McCain/Palin because they can be controlled, they’ll be drilling in Alaska immediately, and if McCain were to have an ‘untimely’ accident…there would be a total puppet in the Oval Office who’d keep the religious right extremist stirred up…always good for cover…and she’s war crazy. The military/industrial/oil/media complex is having a collective wet dream. This is a Disney movie. Hockey Mom goes to Washington….except Hockey Mom is a deranged easily led zealot. 2) She could be the Oct Surprise….keep everything off kilter (Doctrine of Chaos—Rove’s fav) until the last moment….then oh, darn, indicted for her crimes in AK and Romney or Christine Whitman steps in on say, Oct 31. That’s a good reason for all the Dem leaders to come out and hammer on McCain who isn’t looking so hot. Including on his irresponsible choice for VP. Maybe Biden needs to have to step down to for HRC…little health problem. That could be Obama’s Oct surprise. It’s going to be 56 or days of one scary-a$$ lunar roller coaster ride…that’s for sure.

CO—You know we agree on something. I like Belinda, she’s smart, beautiful and am glad she is here and am definitely not trying to put her down….but hope she’ll rethink that. Any girl that becomes preganant already feels enough shame without adding to it. I sure did and even now. But I want to admit it just to balance the stories….it can work out in some circumstances….although in most cases, probably not. It definitely puts something else on parents who may already have too much.Or they see their dreams for their daughter dashed…so I could understand the angry reaction if that case. Anything that I would see as threatening to my son’s education or limiting his future, would invoke the mother tigress in me too. But that’s when to say, “I need to take a walk. You sit here and wait, please.” And keep going until you can think straight. My mother only said one small sentence in reproach, five words. She wanted me to end it and I said no, “Oh, now you are so moral.” My father not one at all. But if I think of what my mother said, it still stings, even though I am sure if she even remembers it, she’d regret it. Her grandson has been one of the biggest joys of her life.
