FYI: Ann and Nancy Wilson are from Seattle Washington. The band “HEART” broke onto the scene from Vancouver, Canada -where they lived in the 70’s. Nancy Wilson has been married to writer/director Cameron Crowe for 22 years. Ann Wilson made the choice to be a single parent and is the adopted mother of two children (Children somebody else didn’t want). This hardly qualifies the Wilson sisters as running with the “drug addicted elite.” The sisters have NOT said they don’t like Palin. They stated that her beliefs are NOT their beliefs and they don’t want their music linked to those beliefs. They are not judging her as a person - they are saying “NOT OUR POLITICS - DON’T USE OUR MUSIC TO PROMOTE IT.”

It’s not often I move someone to vomiting. Should I be flattered? To Clarify: McCain didn’t receive ONE scar on my behalf. I did not send him to Vietnam. I did not ask him to sign up for the military. I was not even born at the onset of Vietnam. I believe that war was an example of a misguided government gone wrong. I will not be out on election day - as I am not American. I pray that those who go out vote against McCain/Palin so soldiers, including Canadians, stop perishing in YET ANOTHER misguided war. I guess I’m on my own here - but I know little girls who DON’T know of the sex tape, nor are they old enough to watch “The Simple Life.” They just know Paris as the pretty model on the magazine covers. Maybe it’s not such a bad thing for them to hear her say “keeping your virginity is cool.” We’ve all made mistakes - The Hiltons, Britney, Lindsay, and a host of others got to make all of their mistakes in the public eye - I can’t imagine that is an easy way to grow up. My “issue” is at the moment is not about Palin. I’ve been reading all the comments on Whoopi’s latest post - there reached a point in the comments where quite a few people were taking Whoopi to task for what they consider bad behavior on Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s part. I don’t understand why people seem to think it is up to Whoopi to correct Elizabeth? Especially for a comment she made about an “unnamed politician’s” (yes - we all assume it’s Michelle Obama) wife - when that comment was NOT said on the View. I don’t agree with most of what Elizabeth has to say - yet, she has a right to speak freely. We have the right to change the channel if we don’t like what we hear. I think that all the good folks who are put off/offended by Elizabeth should write to “The View” and voice their issues. Coming to wOw and expecting Whoopi to do something about it seems misguided. The GOP has also had issue with John Mellincamp, Jackson Browne, and Boston. It seems getting an artist’s blessing is not a concern. Beyond copyright - I believe politicians (their teams) SHOULD consider whether the artists SUBSCRIBE to their platforms before deciding to market their campaigns on somebody else’s art. I cringed to hear “Barracuda” cranking out of the speakers as Palin’s theme! A friend of mine said it best, “I was so shocked I dropped the book I was reading on my cat. I have the scars to prove it - McCain does not!”

I grew up in a very white town in Prince Edward Island, Canada. There were no black families when I was a kid. This is an Island on the Atlantic Ocean. It was very Scottish, English, Irish, and French until the 80’s when Canada opened it’s doors to Vietnamese refugees. These days there are many different ethnicities - back in the 70’s - 80’s it was a different world. People will discriminate. This is a sad fact. In my white town the lines were between poverty and wealth. When girls “from the wrong side of the tracks” got pregnant they were “trash” and “sluts.” However, when a girl from a “good” (wealth and position in the community) family got pregnant she was just a “poor girl who had been taken advantage of by a boy.” It infuriated me! Though I never got pregnant I was constantly called, “Welfare Trash.” Name calling solves nothing and takes the validity away from legitimate arguments. I have NO doubt that if Obama had a pregnant daughter there would be lots of comments about, “baby momma drama.” There are lines where ALL North Americans seem to think it is just fine to stereotype. The bottom line is: the same act makes a baby. White girl or black girl - SAME. Wealthy educated family - Poor uneducated family: it’s the SAME DAMN THING! I believe this is a WORLD election. Invisible borders don’t change the fact that economies are suffering the world over, and soldiers are dying from everywhere. Sarah Palin is a dangerous, inexperienced woman. Her pension for gun toting and “This is Gods war” scare the crap out of me. The fact that she could be sitting in the #2 chair at the Whitehouse is enough to stop my heart. I am sitting here in Canada praying that she and McCain don’t take office. There is a separation of Church and State for a reason. I think Palin is a far cry from what “Barbie” represents. I think she should be feared and not mocked.

I’m not a fan of Palin - I think she’s scary AS IS. The thought of her in office is a horror movie I don’t want to watch. That being said - this sort of fraud does nothing but garner sympathy for “Poor Sarah,” who is being picked on by the media (whatev’). Furthermore - I am one lesbian who NEVER want’s to see Palin in a bikini! It gives a whole new meaning to “scared straight.”

I’m all over the naps! When my body is tired I listen to it. Throw in a little meditation and I’m good to go :)
