Young, Unmarried Pregnancies, Like Bristol Palin's, the New American 'Norm'?

What’s the big deal. The “celebs” have been setting the example of unweb motherhood for years, and validating it under the title of “it’s nobody’s business because we can afford it”. This isn’t new news.

VMA Host Russell Brand Comes Under Fire for Making Fun of Purity Rings, Palin's Pregnancy and Republicans

I’m sure the people he attacked are just ROTFLOL! I know you would be if it was you….right?

Liz Smith: Democrats Beware of the Palin Backlash

On the anonymous issue. I find that when I use my real name, people stray from the subject and ask a bunch of questions. PS - be careful about what you wish for, the brain thing, it’s not so peachy.

Liz Smith: Democrats Beware of the Palin Backlash

I know what you mean about the name calling because there is a difference in opinion, I was just referred to as a Rovian (don’t know what it is), but the way Sherrie used it, it didn’t sound so nice. Sticks and stones, right ;o) Hang in there kiddo. Every generation says the same thing, America ain’t what it use to be. Well it’s not, women get to vote, anyone can run for president (except a women, haha…joke). I mean, if the Dali Lama can’t even go home to his own country….yikes, what does that say about the state of the world. Bin Ladin said he was going to assassinate a Pope….now that’s hard core. Positive energy will make it happen, but people gotta let the hatefulness go; consider it a transition stage. We certainly aren’t going to get it done by finger pointing and name calling. It is going to be fine, well, as long as al-Qaeda doesn’t find us, man there some hate going on there. And people do play by the rules BC - I know you do. Sometimes forums like these bring out the worst in people - it’s all about the anonymity. The internet is evil (joke). Take care and don’t leave the US - we need your positive energy.

What is a Rovian - are you name calling. That’s not a democrat thing is it? I think capable people do want a government working together to stop the “us/them” party mentality. Come on Sherrie - give it a try.

Palin Gets Tutored in Foreign Policy

Whoa DT - simmer down now, you read a bit more into my reply. I just wanted to get to the bottom of how you know Foreign policy was the last reason Palin was chosen. No kidding, Rove said that. Interesting, but I’m pretty sure that everything said on both sides is about getting elected. I checked out the links you provided and it reminded why I stay clear of things that include the words “dish”, “youtube” (very entertaining but too easy to edit things…messy) and as for editorandpublisher, wow, they really tie the CNN and Fox angle, I try to stay a little more independent. I’d recommend: http://www.islamtoday.net/english (they get a little closer, but I still do a little checking - crazy talk) http://english.aljazeera.net/news/americas/2008/09/20089501530519135.htm… http://intelcenter.com/wtg-iu/

Palin Gets Tutored in Foreign Policy

And the first reason is??????? No gossip, facts only please, and make sure to back it up. Just trying to get some truth.

Liz Smith: Governor Palin and Her Merry Men!

Sheryl, really? “If the stories are true,” “Do we want a person like that; if it’s true perhaps running our country?” - geez, it’s like this whole election is based on gossip…….come on people! We need a government working together to stop the “us/them” party mentality. People voted in need to work for AMERICA and not a political party. There are still two more months to go and a lot more to be said and tested. I’m going to be blunt - let’s all shut-up and listen for a change before casting the first stone - I mean vote.

Liz Smith: Democrats Beware of the Palin Backlash

I can’t believe you will leave the country if your pic doesn’t win, you sound tougher than that. What I am looking for in the next Pres. and VP are people who can bring the government together and stop the “us/them” party mentality. The people voted in need to work for AMERICA and not a political party. I’m happy to see a lot of people are now switching gears and listening directly to what the candidates have to say. No more gossipy, Googley, lime-light media influences for real voters. There are still two more months to go and a lot more to be said and tested. I’m going to be blunt - let’s all shut-up and listen for a change before casting the first stone - I mean vote.

wowOwow - Sounds like this blog needs a little lesson in diversity - it is what is being taught to our school children. What can we do to encourage, value, and promote diversity? Never tolerate bullying, teasing, and other put-down behavior at any time. Implement a “zero tolerance” for anything that is disrespectful, hurtful, or intolerant of diversity. Fostering Independent Thinking - Dependant thinkers uncritically accept whatever they are taught and rarely question information or asking themselves if the information really make sense. Independent thinkers feel the need to make sense of the world based on personal observations and experiences rather than just going along with the thoughts of others. Independent thinkers strengthen a team because they understand that different backgrounds and perspectives bring different ideas and solutions. They are willing to share ideas that differ from those of the rest of the team and sometimes require explanations that force the team to force the team to give careful consideration to information. Independent thinkers must be careful not to question everything or they can impede progress. However, when something seems wrong, or they don’t understand something, or they see a better way of doing something, they must have the confidence to voice their opinion.

Whoopi Goldberg: Sarah Palin 'Is a Very Dangerous Woman'

Hi BC, Thanks for looking at the Ledbetter speech. I think my broader points went mute. Equality shouldn’t be just equal pay, it should be the experience, promotion, etc. And, Hauschka might be a party liner vs. an actual Palin critic. Looking forward to seeing the debates and getting a better look at the candidates first hand.

Whoopi Goldberg: Sarah Palin 'Is a Very Dangerous Woman'

I’ve watched both conventions and I am becoming concerned about what I see coming from the Democratic campaign. After the republicans named a women VP, the democratic party has called on Hillary to “get” back out there and get the womens’ vote. For an undecided voter as myself, I feel like they are using her because they feel a threat from the republicans VP selection. Another mixed message came from the DNC women speaker Lily Ledbetter.(http://www.demconvention.com/lily-ledbetter/). Her speech was about women equality in the work place. Her speech was ironic to me because a man with less experience was chosen over a women to represent the party. I also notice that Peter Hauschka supports Democratic candidates and that might explain why he isn’t for a Republican VP candidate. I wish we didn’t have the Party situation, maybe we would have a better choice of candidates. Right people are stuck with voting by Party, which encourages the same old business as usual? I will continue to watch closely over the next two months.

I question almost everything and look at both sides. So to be fair, are you the same person listed under support for Ethan Berkowitz, (D) for Congress.
