Are you worried about the stock market?

Georgia…Who are you? So clever…you make my snapses jump up to do a little jig.

Who or what do you think you were in a past life?

That’s cool, Sam….A chip off the cosmic block.

Who or what do you think you were in a past life?

Emcye, “…watched jaws go slack with utter dis-curiosity.” Isn’t that the truth…

Georgia, McCain George III. Good one.

Who or what do you think you were in a past life?

Some string theorists that think dimensions are folded alongside each other might explain why gravity is a much weaker force than electromagnetics,[ i.e. a pile of paperclips are kept on a desktop by 6 sextillion tons of gravitational force that can be broken by a dimestore magnet.] I think we need a game show called “Ask A Politician Anything.” I’d love to have Obama, Biden, Palin, McCain in soundproof booths and then bring them out one by one to answer the same list of 10 questions, with a 90 sec answer for each, and with them unable to use any of their non answer buzzwords like POW, 911, Jesus, Bible, Christian, “I’ll have people to advise me on that” etc otherwise they’d lose the question. For example, “Gov Palin, An elite Feb 2004 report commissioned by the Department of Defense, entitled “An Abrupt Climate Change Scenario and Its Implications for United States National Security” concluded that global warming and abrupt climate change, and not terrorism, pose our greatest national threat, and in fact in the six years since that report was made we’ve witnessed the extreme weather conditions that they predicted. What concrete terms do you propose to deal with this threat?” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lj3iNxZ8Dww

How about this question instead? Would you be concerned to work at the top of the tallest building in the world, built over the San Andreas fault in low-lying reclaimed Bay Area landfill? We all saw in the 1991 SF quake what liquefaction did in the Marina District. Buildings just pancaked. It was stunning to walk through that beautiful, safe, affluent area afterwards and see the widespread destruction. In fact even today walking through that area, having seen all the people who lost everything, even their lives, you feel certain that nothing bad could ever happen there. I guess kind of like people feel about 1929. That’s so over. Our world economy since 2000 has been built over financial landfill. $700 trillion dollars worth of unregulated derivatives when the world economy is $50 to $60 trillion and of course the Bush Admin has cleaned out Fort Knox. So when the shaking starts and you’re at the top of that building with it’s foundations subject to liquifaction….how secure do you feel? And people are going to vote for McCain who can’t do simple math in his head or understand the “Internets” so conceptually he can’t even brainmap derivatives or their import. POW is all he ever says. And his sidekick left a small town $27M in the hole. Our local economy is great. But we all exist in a new and fast-changing world in a country run by criminal dim-wits. So, no I don’t ‘worry’ because that solves nothing and might make my skin break out. But am very aware that our financial ground isn’t solid…no matter the spinning of the tricksters. As Rousseau said, “The money powers will always fool the masses into enslavement.” Not only that. People here clamor for it.

HerTube: A Two-Ford Family

I can’t watch that without thinking it was made a few years after Edward Bernays famous “Propaganda” and the more savvy commercialization of discontent. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_Bernays The way and order she says everything is as if he wrote the outline for the script. It’s nice though, that in 98 seconds we have their entire story. And also reminds me of the funny ways we found out about new cars in our family. Coming home from grade school there was a fancy new car in the driveway that got my blood rushing. I ran inside and asked my mother whose car. She pretended to be distracted and told me to go change from my school uniform and then she’d tell me. When I opened my closet door, Dad jumped out with a big smile. Can still see eyes twinkled and his dimples were big, and he bent down so his face was on my level. He was so happy. “I bought a new car and we’re going to the LA County Fair!” And we were going to stay there late so the lights would all be on. A pretty dramatic conjunction of cool things for a 7-year old kid. My mother, like most mothers, used to always say money doesn’t grow on trees, but then they consistently introduced material things in a Disneyfied kind of way. Puff. Everything came by magic.

Briliant people from Einstein to Teilhard de Chardin were fascinated with the juncture of science and spirituality and wanted to reconcile the two. Einstein spent the last 40 years of his life on his ‘theory of everything’ which today is what String Physics, in part, attempts to do. The fact is that we are electromagnetic light, the strongest of the four physics forces, which never dies but changes forms. Coupled with believing that St. Joan of Arc was the most outstanding human that ever existed, and having read all of her trial transcipts/experiences/beliefs, makes it easy for me to believe that we exist in other ways. I’ve always felt I had another existence in some form and in France because that is where I feel most at home and most myself. BTW: This is very interesting by Mark Twain on Joan of Arc…esp further down. http://www.catholic-forum.com/saints/stj05003.htm

wOw Asks Jill Bolte Taylor: What Happens When You Have a Stroke?

Excellent interview Leslie and Jill! Jill, I’d watched your Ted Talk a few months ago with fascination. I had a head injury 8 years ago next month, and perhaps 3 years afterwards read “Over My Head: A Doctor’s Own Story of Head Injury from the Inside Looking Out” by Grosse Point ER internist Claudia Osborn. It was like reading my own diary. Very similiar injury/circumstances, and the things she was thinking and did were so like mine, too. Took her 11 years to recreate her life. She was no longer able to practice ER medicine, but was eventually able to teach it. Glad you are still here to tell your story—and to communicate it so vividly. Was just fascinated with the video…and look forward to reading your book.

Not what a woman is in my book. Not the kind of ‘woman’ I wish to endure.

Frank— “Now it’s she that’s dominant and frankly I wonder if you still matter lol.” That should have McCainy going off like a Yellowstone Geezer….oops, Geyser. Hope he calls HER a C&%$ on national TV…she wouldn’t go gentle into the dark night like Cindy….it would be Dukes of Hazzard meets WWF. In fact, this is what White House entertainments will be if she gets in: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWkKrVCSvHk&feature=related So much for Jackie’s dinner for Nobel Laureates, etc. Palin probably thinks a nobel laureate is a big bird—next thought, “Git maw Winchester, son!”

Anam— Bizarre sideshow…is a perfect description. Hypocritical—completely. Even Peggy Noonan (a Republican I admire) said it is total “BS.”
