so you would like Obama’s agenda better if Hillary were carrying it out ?

I think it is time for real change.   Who cares if you are racists ?  That is your problem.  To thine own-self be true.  The rest of us are moving forward to a better life and not trying to go backward.   I know the horse and buggy days were good back with our founding forefathers but the best is yet to come.

I know you want to relive the Boston Tea Party but that is so yesterday. After all 95% of the people got their taxes lowered and you really do have representation.   You know like old Joe Wilson .  Oh what about that wealth redistribution well we have been doing that since the tax code was developed- but most people give the credit to President Obama even though he was not even born yet.  But oh well.

What are the tea baggers protesting?  Oh yeah Health Care - that pesky government wants to make sure that insurance companies give us a fair shake.  But you want the insurance companies to take your money and stand between you and your doctor.

Oh please stop insulting our Canadian Neighbors by denigrating their health care.  Most Canadians say they like it but you seem to insist that you know someones grandmother who lives in Canada and its sort of like a death panel- they have to wait so long for care.  

I just hope President Obama will listen to 70% of the people instead of the 30%.  

Most of these people think they just go to the hospital and the magic fairy pays.  So therefore we don’t need healthcare reform for the poor because there are places.  I have even heard some of our elected officals say that there are places for poor people to go for health care. 

I want health care reform- so don’t participate in it if you don’t want it.

Dining Room table keeps coming to mind.  Barney had a point.  What planet do they live on ?   I know this kind of talk is inflamatory - its like waving a red flag in from of a bull. 

Joe Wilson is from the south and had ties to Neo-confederate groups during the confedrate flag flap in South Carolina- not that he is racist-

Most people don’t view his views as extreme.  HE talked about all this during his campaign.  Health Care Reform.  We all saw various proposal for the past two years.  Single Payer and the public option among others.

It is funny how everyone comes back to we can’t disagree  or be called racists no one has ever said that.  No one.  They all say some but not all. 

Blacks discriminate against Jews?  Oh Please .  What power do blacks hold over Jews ?  Blacks are the minority.   The Black community traditionally is centered around the church and many right wing groups visited black churches and provided this little tid bit of information.   You must marry gays in your church.  The government will force you do and many other scare tactics to secure passage of Prop. 8. 

Everyone has biases.   I see that you have some negative experiences involving blacks and you are carrying negative feelings. So now we have had a dialoge.  Blacks have treated you badly and whites have treated blacks badly so where do we go from here. 

I think the majority of whites and blacks take people for who they are.  Some people are mean and some people are not.  Most of us get along without all the meaness.   We have a small lunatic fringe that the right wing has tapped into for political gain and I wish they would not.  I wish the party would just re-build with real conservatives and leave the fringe to go back to their darkness.

His middle named is still used in a manner that evokes all the claims of him being an Arab and muslim.  He loved his grandmother very much and she loved him.  He told the story as an understanding of race and fear.  She was afraid of this one black man on her route to work and wanted her husband to take her to work.  This was something that was awkard for her because then you become aware that your grandson is a black man.   Yet many right wing conservatives latched on to this and accused him of throwing his grandmother under the bus for revealing that his grandmother had fears and yes some stereotypical racial fears.  He also understood Rev. Wright coming from a different era and place. 

But I heard some professor say that people  often will become defensive when talking about race.   Hear on this board no matter how many times Margo, Jimmy Carter or anyone else says that some of the right wing movement is rooted in racism and not necessarily racism.  

People still are expressing outrage that people are calling all tea party people racists.   I say some of them are stupid while others are truly concerned about change, a few have real issues that they have identied and the rest are racists.
