You are a ...

I tend to be an impulsive person. I have learned as I get older that, whenever possible things work out much better for me and those I care about when I think before I speak or act. I’m also a loner, so I get lots of time to think things out. I consider it a luxury as well as a necessity.

HerTube: This Is Our Kind of Commercial

Klein, the very fact that you are allowed to continue to spew your hatred of women in this forum is proof that women have a sense of humor. You think you’re being clever, but we are laughing at you because you’re pathetic.

What is the first thing you hear each morning?

Those f*&^%$# birds! And they’re starting earlier and earlier. Now they’re waking me a little after 3 a.m. I’ve been forced to use my earplugs.

wOw's Views on the News: Is Rev. Wright Leading to the Demise of the Obama Campaign?

From listening to the ignoramuses at my job, I know that there is an unfortunate fact that cannot be disputed: There are people in this country who will not vote for Obama, who don’t want him to be President for one reason: the color of his skin. They don’t listen to what he has to say, they don’t want to give him a chance. They’ll vote for the white Republican guy, same deal, not listening to what he has to say, just because he’s the white Republican. And this whole thing with Rev. Wright is just the ammunition those people need: See! He’s a radical! It’s so unfortunate that Rev. Wright is ruining any chance Obama had. And I agree with those who say there’s way too much coverage of this being repeated ad nauseum. But that’s the world we live in - saturation!

How do you feel about being left alone for a few days? What do you do with the time?

By the way, I feel remiss for not mentioning, I won’t live completely alone. I have to have pets. My dog and my cat are wonderful companions.

How do you feel about being left alone for a few days? What do you do with the time?

I really enjoy being alone. My daughter is 18, about to graduate from high school - and I’m truly looking forward to my empty nest. I’ll worry about her, write and call often, but I will cherish the quiet and solitude so much. I guess if I have to be labelled, my label reads “Solitary”. Alone sounds so lonely, and I rarely get lonely. When I’m alone, my mind can wander, I can think, I can do whatever I want without having to consider anyone else’s thoughts or desires. I love shopping alone. I don’t like feeling obligated to look at something that someone else wants to look at. I like going at my own pace, looking at what I’m interested in! I have a wonderful man in my life, who would love nothing more than for us to shack up or, even better get *choke* married. But I enjoy having my own little house too too much. I spend just about every weekend with him. And while I love his bigger house, his huge screen tv with all the cable channels (I have a 19 inch and only local channels), his gourmet kitchen, and indeed his companionship, when Sunday night comes, I really look forward to driving home to my little place and being alone again. People always react with sympathy when I say, I don’t have many friends, I’m usually alone. It’s a preference, a choice, not a predicament! I really don’t know how I could maintain my sanity if I had to be around other people constantly. I think Family Life is wonderful, if that’s your thing. It’s just not mine. The fact is, the person whose company I enjoy above all others is me!

Joan and Liz: The Health of Individual Americans Is Completely Subject to the Pharmaceutical and Insurance Companies

Star, you’re not being mean! This site is about ideas and opinions. Of course, you can do everything right and still get sick. What I’m saying is, it can’t hurt. And as I stated, before I would go to any physician, I would seek out natural cures. Unfortunately, I just can’t trust my health, nor the health of my loved ones, to “traditional” medicine. Too many physicians are in the pockets of big pharma, paid to prescribe certain drugs. The only person who really cares about my health is ME, and the only person I trust to take care of it is ME. If no natural cures were helping me, I’d have no choice but to go to a doctor.

Right again, bleucrawfish. For several years, I worked for a chiropractor who deeply believes in natural, drug- and surgery-free living. He taught me so much about taking care of my body. He said that most of the time, the two things that can help our health are good hygiene, i.e. washing your hands often, and drinking plenty of WATER. Not fluids - water! A lot of people who feel “sick” from time to time are simply dehydrated. As you said, listen to your body!

Joan and Liz: The Health of Individual Americans Is Completely Subject to the Pharmaceutical and Insurance Companies

I agree with bleucrawfish. The programs you mention are called “alternative” medicine, and they generally can help keep us all healthier and not so much in need of what the medical/pharmaceutical industry now calls “traditional medicine”. In my opinion, “traditional” means taking care of your body, eating right, exercising, using natural/homeopathic cures…..and “alternative” is when something catastrophic happens and the traditional methods just aren’t enough, or when someone doesn’t take good care of themself and their health is beyond repair using traditional methods. I know there are women out there who rely heavily on drugs and surgery. That’s certainly your right, and I don’t in any way mean to insult you. At 41, I don’t take prescription nor over the counter drugs except occasionally an aspirin. I have a wonderful book “Prescription for Natural Cures” that I absolutely couldn’t live without. Before I’d give my money to big pharma or medical doctors, I’d consult my book and/or do plenty of research to find a natural cure.

wOw's Views on the News: Can Clinton, Obama or McCain Get Us Out of This $9.1 Trillion Hole?

I had read the NYT article yesterday, and it only confirmed what I alread knew: McCain doesn’t give a DAMN about working people, any more than did Bush/Bush/Reagan. His ideas for “balancing the budget” entail favoring large corporations and wealthy people - in other words, more of the same Republican crap. Obama’s and Clinton’s plans may not be perfect, but at least they give some indication that they are interested in doing something that benefits real people.

The Blame Game: Why Is the Price of Gasoline Through the Roof?

So true, Frances. We all have a perfect right to be here. But Dr. McG-Klein is extremely insulting to women and womanhood. You have the maturity and grace to state your ideas and opinions without being deliberately inflammatory. Bravo.

The Blame Game: Why Is the Price of Gasoline Through the Roof?

Princess…..it’s fun! I had suggested somewhere within this labyrinth of Dr. McGin-Kleinisms that there was some nefarious reason why kleiney no longer used a photo for his display image. It’s quite ironic that around the same time that his display photo disappeared, Dr. McG magically appeared in his corner……ya think maybe he created this alter-ego so he’d have at least one female supporter? He did used to be a shrink, ya know…..I smell mind games!

The Blame Game: Why Is the Price of Gasoline Through the Roof?

Paragraphs 1 and 2 were right on! He’s a sad, lonely, bitter little man. Notice he only posts under questions which he can twist into opportunities for woman-bashing. But how much more time are we going to devote to this clown? You’re so right, Alias, his whole program now is “tweaking”. So let’s leave him alone and let him go tweak himself.

The Blame Game: Why Is the Price of Gasoline Through the Roof?

Hear, hear, Princess. Cheney is becoming a very wealthy man while our troops risk their lives.

The Blame Game: Why Is the Price of Gasoline Through the Roof?

I agree, RoseMerry. What we have to do is get out there on election day and make sure McCain doesn’t win Dubya’s third term, or it’s more Reaganomics, more war, and more poverty.
