The citizens that have learned coping skills are the ones that have very little. They are also the ones that develop survival skills and independent spirit.

Personally, there are enough law degrees already in Washington. So far, they seem to be used to determine ways to get around laws. Perhaps someone with economics, with a major in ethics and a minor in International affairs, might be more useful at this time. SEC staff don’t want to upset Wall Street because they see that as their next career step, and who wants to upset a potential new employer…so let’s find someone

It would have been an effective story if originally classified as fiction and the author could have still received his 15 minutes of fame. Why does it seem that so many people find it necessary to do everything the hard way.

Sorry, no doubt a very intelligent and nice person. The experience issue doesn’t concern me as much as the fact that she has never “engaged”. She doesn’t have the attitude or experience for the Senate. She has never been required to do a job… only assignments… from school… to charities.. to TV specials for the Kennedy Center. With the exception of school, she’s had a support staff to do all the heavy lifting and she was the high profile front person that gets the credit for donations.There should be no entitlement, due to family name, for anyone and yet it exists… big time… so she’ll probably ride the wave of the “elite” rather than the worker and get the position. It will be unfortunate when she gets “bored” and takes an early retirement.

Prejudice is ever so much easier to fight in the light. Everyone in the open…speaking about fairness, rights, comparisons with prior struggles and assurances that the churches individually will have rights to their own beliefs will accomplish a great deal. The constant attempts to silence Warren, just gives him a bigger audience. Sarah Palin was an excellent example of letting people speak to show their ignorance… does anyone believe that Rev. Warren would fare better ? The visual on the G&L community is probably a bigger issue for equality. The silent majority of the group needs to be more visable rather than just the fringe and celebrity seeking.

A plug is often useful… like now. Of course if she had run her own national campaign it would have been a quicker realization of her inexperience.

It’s anticipated to take years, or possibly decades, to correct what President Bush is doing n his last 60 days. That in addition to what it has done to the United States and the World with his selection of Cheney to run the world on his behalf.

The problem with the American dream is why people believe in the schemes… that someday they too will be rich. The fact that Mr. Madeoff used to be with the SEC should have been a “red flag”…not a recommendation. The monopoly money challenge equals a gambling addiction and after all they’ve always been able to convince others of their value in the past.

As usual…everyone need to check their ego at the door. Elections=term limits everyone so let’s get the children to learn to play well with others.

Being embarrassed is a waste of time and certainly not her style. She is far to successful in the important issues. What a society we have… Exercise to feel better, strengthen muscles and improve endurance. The weight will settle in and level out at what is best for you.

By all reports, Blagoyevich appeared to be running as a “reformer” when he originally got elected. Did anyone look at the family involved ? The local political clean-ups will scare Washington enough to help with that reformation in the future too. Let’s keep the lights on the problem so everyone behaves better while serving their citizens. Remember that Elections = Term Limits. Pay attention everyone.

It would have been helpful if the newspapers had quoted the wording from these telephone calls…from both of the Blagoyevich’s including all threats. The real issue is why Republicans and Democrats, in office and the citizens, have put up with this “business as usual” atmosphere for so many years. Answer…someone standing against it basically killed their political career. “Me” instead of “We” thinking. Politics is rarely a time of “service” anymore. Term limits are called elections so the public needs to get a little smarter. Again… money & greed rules…rewarding bad business decisions just like Wall Street/ Corporations and the compensation levels. ** No one is that valuable in Washington, Wall Street or Corporate America**

For certain ? <> The vast majority seem to believe in one God…and yet they can’t seem to recognize that reality and/or get along with each other. Heaven needs to be created on earth … just in case. <> The population of man will soon exceed the resources that sustain. <> The belief that what children aren’t taught will somehow prtotect them from harm…and yet it is always the opposite. Knowledge is power. <> Personalities can be exhausting. <> Beauty is as beauty does still works… not celebrity and shallowness
