Mary, I have to say I understand your answer as I have 5 daughters. My life would be nearly nothing without them. Some may think this sad, but they were and are my job. A job I love dearly. The other thing is they are my fun, my love, my inspiration, my entertainment and my everything! One lives on the other side of the country from the rest of us, but we speak daily. We start up Skype and the videocam and it’s like she’s in the room with us. I don’t know where my other girls adventures will take them in life, but they will always be close to my heart.

Whether we like it or not, (I do not) all family members are fair game. Simple. What I don’t understand is them not knowing this is going to happen before getting into the game. It’s brutal, certainly, but it’s what happens.

Being a Michigander, I’ve felt the same way. It looks as though he wants our votes now, seeing as he’ll be here for the 3rd time in little over a month. I think Hillary deserves a sweet break right about now, but I doubt she’ll take one yet.

It’s a sad thing when people will respect/like you less for something your spouse has done/said.

I consider myself an intelligent woman and I am a HRC supporter. I don’t for an instant feel that HRC is owed the nomination, I believe her failures are hers and hers alone, and if the situation was reversed I wouldn’t expect or assume that Obama should give up, either.

We seem to be in the minority here Anne, but my thoughts align with yours. My husband and I have 5 children. While we are not rich, we’ve been able to support them on our own. We’ve tried to lead them down a path to be responsible, caring, loving individuals. Who knows what the 5th or 3rd child of a family might grow up to do or be or teach or change or create or invent? I know a few individuals who do not have/want children for whatever reasons. I would never dream to think less of them for their reasons, (knowing how wonderful a family is) and they don’t think less of me for wanting to share my love and life with a family.

Since receiving an emergency call (the 1st or 2nd time leaving the house with my very first cell phone) that my youngest daughter fell and needed to go to the ER for stitches, I have not been without a cell phone, so indeed I feel barren without it. My iPod is my saviour when I need to check out and regroup for 30 minutes or so. Music, books, podcasts - whatever. Of course, my laptop. Love it, not ashamed to say it. It connects me with the world in a way nothing else can. This is not to say I don’t love a conversation with my kids, a good book, a walk, a swim and many other things. Technology has brought some problems along with it, but the good stuff outweighs the bad stuff by a mile! It’s here to say, may as well get on board and stay there.

My mind does what it wants, and many times it is not what I wanted…I have stopped trying to figure it out because I generally end up with a headache.

No one cares about victims of rape, wherever they live or whatever their circumstances? Please tell me you are not serious. This woman and fellow human being is reaching out for help, even if only a word or two of heartfelt sympathy, empathy, support or encouragement. Honestly, you are not criticizing for spelling?

Nothing special… cookouts/parties 3 different days, all with family and friends! Ha- very special indeed. What more could I wish for? James- I’m also in GR, MI and I’m loving the still cool weather! And I’m glad to see Chauncey back in the game.

I finally had to quit reading through these posts due to a headache! Is it important to know what’s going on here- or shall I drop this and just go on to another topic? I’ve enjoyed reading what most of you’ve had to say and have learned much. I just can’t get enough of intelligent women chatting about important and not so important matters!
