O.J. Simpson Found Guilty of Armed Robbery; Faces Life in Prison

Before he died of cancer, Kardashian (even though he’d been close friends w/OJ) said he doubted his innocence and that he regretted his part in his freedom. In “If I Did It” (OJ’s sleazy book which is online)…..there was another man with him that night who he referred to as “Charlie.” One of his friends was spying on Nicole for him and reporting back which in turn made OJ crazed.

He was found responsiblefor their deaths in the civil case that he lost for tens of millions of dollars, which he still owes, including $12.5M to his children for his responsibility for their mother’s muder.

Kryssi, What’s interesting too, is that ‘13’ is the lucky number of the Goddess. Patriarchal churches inverted all positive Goddess symbols to make them evil in order to wipe out Goddess cultures. OJ’s verdict came after 13 hrs deliberation and on the 13 year anniversary (as someone else pointed out) on his ‘not guilty’ verdict.

I guessed I missed it….Deborah B deleted before saw it.

Rita, Really? That’s true? Amazing. And I read the [female] judge’s statements to OJ’s atty re bail and an extension to file an appeal. She was very pointed, basically, no, and tough luck.

Elaine, I don’t know much about Mark Furman except that he was instrumental in solving the “Kennedy cousin’s” murder in Conn of the teenage neighbor girl…the crime that had long gone unresolved and that Dommick Dunne followed closely/wrote about. When they first announced the entire OJ thing I didn’t believe it. As the evidence came out, from many sources, it was clear he was involved. Then friends who’d stuck by him, including one of his closest and also one of his lead attorneys, Robert George Kardashian. later leaked that they doubted his innocence. Kardashian, like OJ’s other lead atty, Johnny Cochran, both died young. And Dunne also covered the trial. I think he is an unimpeachable source and he saw and heard all the evidence and was sure OJ did it. OJ also wrote that horrible book “If I Did It Here’s How” or something disgusting like that, which ruined Judith Reagan’s career. And one of his dimwitted girlfriends also later wrote that years later he still talked about the murder incessantly in terms of ‘imagining’ what happened….but she said he’d become so engrossed in the telling it was clear he was reliving it over and over. Nicole Simpson had a well known fear of knives. She would not even leave them out on countertops. In his ramblings he said if she hadn’t come to the door with the large knife in her hand she’d still be alive. I was one of his defenders at first, I’d bought into the USC star player thing. My brother lived on San Vincente for many years and OJ was a high-profile, seemingly engaging person around Bev Hills, Santa Monica, Brentwood. He had a beautiful home and family. Too bad he destroyed everything up and took his children’s mother, and now father, away from them. I’ve heard they are close to Nicole’s family. I doubt that the Goldman’s are doing a ‘happy dance.’ But am sure they are glad to see some form of justice finally done. They won a massive, unpaid civil suit against OJ and so in actuality….those items he went to claim…belong to them…and am sure their attorney will go aggressively after them, and liquidate them towards their unpaid claim on his estate.

Sarah Palin who has more net worth than either Obama or Biden is a tax cheat [from unbossed.com]: “Palin failed to pay taxes on her per diem payments In an overview of Sarah Palin’s tax returns for 2006 and 2007, which she has finally released, the Associated Press reports that Palin neglected to pay the taxes due on $17,000 she received in per diem payments as Governor of Alaska. A McCain campaign official claims, falsely, that Palin owed no taxes on those payments. Sarah Palin makes $125,000 a year as Alaska governor. Plus, since she took the job in December 2006, she hasn’t paid taxes on the more than $17,000 she received in controversial per diem payments for working out of the family’s lakeside home in Wasilla… Regarding the per diem dispute, [McCain-Palin spokeswoman Maria] Comella said Juneau is the governor’s home base and therefore whenever she works elsewhere, she is entitled to charge the state. Comella contended the per diem payments are not taxable. [Former IRS commissioner Sheldon] Cohen said it was fine for the state of Alaska to determine it was okay to reimburse Palin to work out of her home, but the state’s decision didn’t mean those benefits were not taxable by the federal government. “One has nothing to do with the other,” said Cohen. It’s very clear that taxes were due on these per diems. This is tax evasion by Sarah Palin, pure and simple. It doesn’t quite rise to the level of Richard Nixon’s utter failure to pay any taxes for a few years while he was president. But what a standard to be flirting with. Palin’s per diems are themselves controversial. She billed the state of Alaska nearly $17,000 for 312 nights she spent at her house in Wasilla. Because the governor has a mansion in Juneau and is supposed to reside and work there (though she is in fact absent far more than she’s present in the capital), she may be permitted technically under state regulations to claim a per diem for lodging while she’s staying at her own home. But it looks pretty cynical to claim to be a reformer while seeking payments for living at home. That’s particularly true since Palin also billed the state to fly her husband and children around the state, to the tune of more than $43,000. Once Palin brought one of her daughters with her at great expense to a Women and Leadership conference in New York City, where they stayed in an extremely luxurious hotel. Asked Monday about the official policy on charging for children’s travel expenses, [Alaska state finance director Kim] Garnero said: “We cover the expenses of anyone who’s conducting state business. I can’t imagine kids could be doing that.” But [Palin’s spokeswoman Sharon] Leighow said many of the hundreds of invitations Palin receives include requests for her to bring her family, placing the definition of “state business” with the party extending the invitation. The revelations about her per diems suggest that Palin plays fast and loose with rules in order to enrich herself. The same impression is given by the AP’s analysis of Palin’s tax returns. She and her husband have managed to take so many deductions, some seemingly dubious, that they’ve avoided paying taxes on much of their income. For the 2007 tax year, Todd Palin’s self-employment brought him $66,893 in gross receipts — $49,893 from fishing and $17,000 from snowmachine racing. But, the returns show, he claimed so many deductions that he reported only $15,513 net profit from the fishing operation and claimed a $9,639 loss from his racing, leaving him with an overall net income of only $5,874. Those deductions enabled the Palins, who have four dependent children, to enjoy a 15 percent tax rate for 2007 and a rate of less than 10 percent for 2006. This family, with assets worth between about 1 and 2 million dollars, is not struggling just to get by. Instead, it’s working to figure out every angle it can exploit.”

More important….the Alaska Supreme Court is hearing an appeal to not release the results of Palin’s Troopergate investigation next week because it it could be McCain’s “October Surprise.” As everyone has so eloquently [ha] stated about the OJ case, Karma’s a bitch. And the GOP has massive amounts of it coming. Hope the AK Supreme Court does the right thing and allows Troopergate to fly free. Isn’t that what the GOP is all about? Let the market decide? What are they afraid of? http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/10/04/alaska-supreme-court-take_n_131…

FP- ROTFLMAO to quote you.

Who won Thursday night's debate?

Pi- I must have missed something re same sex couples and Biden/Demos not believing in equal rights. Huh? Gavin Newsom has successfully pushed this at great cost to him (nationally ) politically and I think he has made great advances in short time. Although I am not gay so obviously my perspective is different. And of course I believe should be absolutely equal.

Who won Thursday night's debate?

She was a sportsreader…..a bit far from an anchor and I see that the GOP had her sports removed from youtube. But here’s the real Palin. LOL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6MJCvHMtwE4

Who won Thursday night's debate?

Sally, Re dropped ‘g’s. Drive me crazy too. It’s like a fad. Like Pugs, Pumpkin Lattes and Dockers…..only low-end.

Who won Thursday night's debate?

Well to be fair and spread it around re the verbal tics….I do wish Biden would quit saying, “Look,…..” “See” is worse. Sounds like the Chaz Palmentari character in ‘Bullets Over Broadway” whose memorable line there was “It stinks like s*** on f***ing hot ice.” While starting every other sentence with “Look…” sounds more like Michael Douglas in “Wall Street.” Both crooks just one with a tad more Uptown polish.

Well, I’ll tell Porthault to hold on the monogrammed linen. And to think I had to read it here first, Frank!!
