Obama's Cabinet: Obama Offers Chief of Staff to Rahm Emanuel

PS: Obama also had a message for America’s youth, “Pull up your pants!” Thank you.

Obama Can Thank Women For Big Part of His Win

I was an Obama fan from the time of his speech at Kerry’s 2004 convention…..and everything I’ve learned/seen about him since has just cemented my support and admiration. American women did a terrific job that is in their best interest and that of America and the world. He is the right man for the times.

John McCain's Concession Speech (Video)

Excellent, graceful speech that will be remembered as a classy end to his campaign.

California, Arizona, Florida Approve Gay-Marriage Bans

EKA, I agree with you, except shame on California. California has led the way….and if I hadn’t been here in Shell Beach (on the Cenral Coast—red part of CA like Orange County, etc) I would not have believed California could have such awful commericals as the ones I’ve seen re Prop 8. But the money that paid from these largely came from outside like the CEO of Blackwater. Don’t despair anyone….this will be reversed in the courts. This is one battle, it isn’t over.

Liz Smith: The Red and the Blue

Right on, Liz. I feel that have been through 8 years of hell and that America the Beautiful is back….was so glad to see an early victory and a genuine mandate and also that Senator McCain gave a memorably gracious speech. It is a new day for the entire world.

A Style Quiz From the Etceterist

I always look forward to seeing what Michelle will wear and generally love her clothes, however, to me this was a major miss….didn’t like it at all. she looks best in solids. But it did look celebratory/young. However, by comparison Cindy McCain’s (and usually don’t like her clothes) outfit looked refined. But her hair/shape and face looked terrific. Their daughters looked adorable and am eager to see what kind of puppy they get. I hope Michelle gets one designer to manage her wardrobe like Jackie did with Oleg Cassini….saves time and also gives a comprehensive look, which in general she has. Look forward to four years of her being the First Lady and of fashion too.

I do feel for people who’s candidate doesn’t win because I know how devastating the last two elections were for me. At least McCain has a bi-partisan bent and so does Obama and I believe he will be an active force in the new administration because Obama wants to bring people together.

Ms Dee, Great link/terrific job! Congrats! Very interesting too about what ID is doing. “If you know anybody producing books on tape, link me to them” wish I did. I’d suggest starting a FaceBook page…100 million audience there….and lots of specialty groups. In your profile say what you do and add that link, join related groups and post that link, etc. Make your page your advert….you can friend me if you want and then invite my FB friends (I think 1,200+) to join you….many are in high tech so lots of good contacts. You’re right today is Christmas…

Ms Dee…they didn’t get socked in the stomach as much by their neighbors as by outside the state money that went into horrible commericals I would have never seen if wasn’t on vacation in Shell Beach on the Central Coast…..really horrible commericals paid for by the likes of Eric Prince, CEO of Blackwater. Prop 8 will be reversed in the courts….watch and see.

John G, A lot of out of state money including from the family of billionaire Eric Prince, CEO of Blackwater, was behind CA Prop 8. It will undoubtedly be challenged in the Courts. It’s not over, just a step taken back. My husband (who was a CEO, naval pilot, brilliant and 25 years older) used to say ‘Don’t pass final judge things at the moment.’ Just like the horror show of the Bush years that felt permanent….look at the ‘unintentional consequences’ the GOP created for itself by trying to ‘wipe liberals off the face of the earth’ as Tom Delay/Newt Ginrich/The Heritage Foundation wrote and promoted. Prop 8 won’t stand for long.

Della, Maybe you could become a paid online blogger? For information: http://www.blogher.com/ http://www.problogger.net/ Read those for tips. Go to ezinearticles.com and read the SEO marketing articles. You can make a website for free and easily in hours on blogger.https://www.blogger.com/start Get paypal (also free) so people can pay you direct into your checking account. For images for website, google images or Flickr (ask permission and give credit) Also see www.etsy.com a woman I know (former art buyer) took posters off a public domain site, had them silk screened and sells them on etsy….she made $90K in 9 months. Here’s her great blog made on blogger above: http://www.sfgirlbybay.com/ You can go through ‘writing’ ads on Craigslist.com for cities all over the country and look for things can do online. Lots of blogs need content creators. Also….I think it’s great to lay it out…how you’re feeling at the moment. But also too remember that words/throughts really do create our world, and that action is the magic wand. The entire nation is as wrecked as you feel right now….but can fix it. If want any additional info re blogging for dollars contact me through my site: http://web.mac.com/myfrenchheart Good luck….things can and do change overnight…as we just saw.

I feel that have lived in an occupied country for 8 hellish years and wondered if the real America could ever survive it. This AM feel a million pounds lighter. Obama understands that things change most quickly at their root and he will go to the roots to change things for the better. He will have an inclusive, bi-partisan cabinet. Most of the US and the world is breathing easier today. He will be a great president. Under Bush Inc it has been hard to even look at the flag because of what it stood for under them. Americans got out and saved our country. Obama is the man for the times and for a new era. Everything feels renewed. Arianna Huffington Says the Laptop has Replaced the Television on Election Night

Hope you have a terrific trip Diana. I’m still on mine. Obama is so grounded and focused he will miss his grandmother, I still miss my Nana who I was very close to, but they stay with you, too. Yes, may be safe. Last night, I was juggling my laptop, the TV remote, my cell phone and glasses of champagne. It was a great night.

The New York Public Library Gala ... Regis Philbin, Barbara Walters, Liz Smith and many more (Photos)
