Someone once said to somone  they knew that they were in their own little world.  She replied, why not, I know everyone here. 

Phyllis, I recently saw a cartoon whereby these astronauts land on the moon and find a dead woman with a name tag of Alice Kramden.  The tag line read that you have to either know who that was or you were too young. 

This got a guffaw out of me.  :-)

But doc, I dont know how I got so sunburn.  I was standing under this big umbrella all day.

Just heard that the pundits are wondering if it will be aired or if the press will be let in for the first few minutes or not at all and what kind of beer will be served.  Such IMPORTANT points when the president will be panned no matter what he does.

Just heard that Obama invited Gates and Crowley to the White House for a beer.  Wonder who will show up.

I bet it was hard to make a decision on this one.  Too adorable.

Racism against the white cop???  All Obama said was he thought the cops acted stupidly.  He felt sorry for his friend. He didnt point out that the cops were any color, as I understand there were black cops there too.  Anyone would comment, if asked, about a situation but that doesnt mean they are racist.  This was blown way out of proportion and a lot of people are making a big mountain out of a little molehill.

You go girl.  Even though I live in California, it is too close to the Coast to go around naked as I have my heater on now.  Besides, I live in an apartment, and would get arrested.  But I do like talking to the young Coast Guard guys that moved in.  They are, at least, polite, unlike some others.  I try to keep my sense of humor somewhat in check as the young seem to think we are all too old to have fun.  But, like you, I do feel a sense of freedom now I didnt when I was myself younger.  Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy.

Actually, I hope it is many years before I have to think about a senior home.  And, if I did meet someone I really cared for I would foster a relationship.  However, I remember back when I was in my twenties and thirties and was having a great time and didnt think of much besides having fun, then I got married.  Boy did things change.  The sixties and seventies were wild times and Im glad I lived through them but now things, for me, are a lot more health-oriented so, although I was jesting, my priorities have indeed changed.  As for the marriage, it went away like a lot of things from the era of sex, drugs and rock and roll.

Had what before?  Methinks you get AIDS once and that is it.  If you mean they might not live that much longer well, that is not the way I would want to go.  My immune system is attacked by enough now.  Where did I put those cards.

Star, I have found a whole new bunch of people to talk to and they are at the malls.  During the day the seniors come out and if they see another oldster sitting on a bench, some one or two of them will come over and start a conversation.  Since I am usually not short of words and the buildup of talking to myself becomes overpowering, I can usually participate in a lively manner. 

What a great line.  Everything is an event or an adventure if you can just appreciate it.  And a writer will soak up these things like a sponge and then use them to their advantage.  Even I have noticed that some people I know might have had a boring day whereas I might be there with them and have had all kinds of experiences.  Good for Phillip Roth and Sybil too.

It is a new day, I feel refreshed.  New York is exciting and known for its delis  but I live in California and we are more into palm trees, surfing and wondering whats happening.  In fact there is a wine tasting festival on our island today so I shall venture forth also.  Keep on keeping on.
