Susan B, Interesting finding. We should all be so lucky as to be as downtrodden as Joe the simple plumber I think. He must be some plumber! See FactCheck.org: http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/factchecking_debate_no_3.html It’s worth noting that while Wurzelbacher told Fox News’ Neil Cavuto that he lives “in a simple, middle class home” and portrayed himself as an ordinary working guy, Wurzelbacher’s $250,000 to $280,000 is a bit higher than “ordinary.” In 2007, the last year for which the Census Bureau has figures, the median income for a family in Toledo, Ohio, was $43,553.

Marjorie, I have sat right in the middle — on the fence. I had an open mind listening to both sides and researched the facts to both candidates accusations until I was satisfied with my findings. From my fence, McCain has instilled much more fear and chaos — and hate — that of which I can do with out. Bush (true McCain is not Bush) has also instilled fear. Obama has kept his cool and his answers to me appear more genuine.

If your son did partake in the horrors of war (if you do have a son), I would think that however necessary he felt his obligation to blow someone away was, he would not come home the same person. The family members and friends that I have who have been in that boat are forever changed. I pray that volunteer service stays, then both men and women who feel a commitment to serve can. My father served in the American Field WWII (joined because an injury made him ineligible for draft), a brother serve in Vietnam (drafted) a husband volunteer in the Army and Son-in-law in National Guard. This is my experience.

I learned tonight that Joe Six-pack is a plumber. I have to agree with you Kryssi, I wish that McCain picked someone more worldly. She is one of the cons as I sort through my pros and cons as an independent voter. Obama is looking more promising to me now.

Undecided before tonight - Leaning more toward Obama. I felt that he spoke more to me. McCain did better than in the past but I felt that he seemed more out of touch. Senator Obama spoke to me. I’m excited about what he will bring to America. I respect McCain, but if I were to vote today it would be for Obama.
