Readers, please accept my apologies for my post above, my long post. I screwed up in my word processor and copied out more than intended. My intended article begins with, “Returning to Obama’s advertisement, which is the topic.” I am very sorry for my mistake. This is unintentional but still very stupid. I did not intend to post so very much. I am sufficiently embarrassed to never make this mistake again. Please accept my apologies. Okpulot Taha Choctaw Nation

I watched Obama’s television sales pitch twice, and made careful written notes while watching. There are two themes which stand out during the entire course of his advertisement. Those two themes are Americans are spending more than they earn and a majority of Americans are fat if not obese. I will not pick on individuals by name, I am not completely without heart. Right off I note a family with four kids. Why would any family have four kids knowing they cannot afford so many children? Birth control pills are a lot cheaper than kids. These are financially irresponsible parents whose kids suffer a lower quality of life because their parents are not responsible enough to plan a good family budget, such as not pumping out baby after baby. This family with four kids live in a fancy home which is lavishly furnished, including a huge double door refrigerator. They also drive an expensive brand new automobile. I made a note one of their boys is on a football team and is wearing expensive football clothing and equipment. What right does this family have to complain about money while they spend more money than they can afford? Fat. Obesity. Watch Obama’s video carefully. I am noting about two-thirds of people portrayed range from fat to near morbidly obese. How is this those people can afford to stuff their faces with food and yet cannot afford their monthly bills? Those are selfish people who place their desire for food ahead of the needs of their families. An interesting scene is found. A husband is buying dinner for his family, lots of kids. This husband is fat, very fat. They are at a cheap fast food restaurant and pay twenty-four bucks to feed their family. Why is this family not at home cooking their own dinner for half the cost? How much did this family spend on gasoline driving to and from a cheap fast food restaurant? This is the real problem with America. Our peoples are lazy, fat and irresponsible. Big homes, big refrigerators, big fat bellies and lots of kids hauled around in a big fat expensive SUV. These people complain about their family budgets? Well, gosh darn, why do they not practice birth control, stop wasting so much money and stop stuffing their fat faces with food? This is the real problem with America. Our peoples are lazy, fat and irresponsible. Why did Obama not address this real and true problem? Okpulot Taha Choctaw Nation A dose of reality is needed for readers here at Women On The Web. I am reality, a harsh reality. This is the nature of my American Indian peoples. I am proud to be a red skinned woman. My husband and I were both born to dire poverty on a rural Oklahoma farm, literally on a farm, in a back bedroom. We attended some school but mostly were farm hands. This is a source of pride; we worked hard so our family would not go hungry. We sacrificed much, such as an education, simply so our family could survive. Later in life, my husband and I decided to take a big risk, decided to work our way from Oklahoma to California. Farming is a wonderful life but does not pay well. We were determined to escape poverty. We worked the oil fields of West Texas, picked cotton in Arizona, harvested crops alongside illegals in the California Imperial Valley. Took us a year to make our way to California. I was a pregnant teenage girl during this time period of our lives. Here in California, we worked even harder, at whatever jobs we could find, with almost all jobs being those filled by Mexican illegals today. A responsibility we took on is to not have any more children. We knew one child is all we could afford and we took on the responsibility of dedicating ourselves to our child, our only child. We took turns attending school. He worked two jobs, I worked a job and attended college. After years of work, I became a school teacher. We were doing better but still lived a life most would consider impoverished. We sacrificed, we did without, we did all we could to make sure our girl would and will have a life better than ours. No fancy home, no fancy furniture and I still drive our rust bucket 1952 Chevy pickup truck which breaks down more often than starts up. We lead a very modest life. We are responsible and accountable. Today, I am an English professor and our family worth is approaching ten-million dollars. We still live in our modest small home, still buy furniture at thrift shops and my clothes are from Goodwill. We enjoy comfortable wealth because we have worked our fingers to the bone to escape poverty, because we are responsible and accountable. Over thirty years, we moved our family from dire poverty to comfortable wealth through hard work and through being responsible. Why should I mince my words, why should I be less than truthful with Americans who are basically lazy, unwilling to work hard and waste their money on unaffordable lavish lifestyles they cannot afford? Something which really annoyed me in Obama’s advertisement is this gal complaining about a lack of food in her refrigerator. I am looking. Her fridge is huge, is a double door, has an icemaker, is stocked with junk food and soda pop. She complains? Our family can afford to buy a refrigerator factory and have tons of money left. Our fairly new fridge is a General Electric. Our fridge is very small, single door, no ice maker and only cost us $280 at Home Depot. We hauled our fridge home in my old truck to avoid delivery charges. We are not complaining. As a wife, I do not need a big fancy expensive fridge. I only need a fridge of a size which will hold healthy food, some milk and little bit of fruit for dessert. No ice cream. Reminds me of something my Choctaw elders taught me. White man build big fire, stand far away. Indian build small fire, sit close. I am absolutely annoyed with people who spend their money like there is no tomorrow, am absolutely annoyed with people who demand a lavish lifestyle while being in debt up to their necks. Gosh darn, people, get rid of your BMW made SUV then buy yourself a cheap rust bucket ‘52 Chevy pickup so you can go over to Home Depot to buy an affordable fridge, and haul home this affordable fridge in the back of your old pickup. I refuse to entertain complaints from people who are financially irresponsible. I am shocked by how little value Americans place upon their right to vote. Voter fraud is an act of treason, not a simple felony crime. Voter fraud is to subvert our system of government. Voter fraud is an attack upon our country. Voter fraud is an act of treason. When I was born on a rural Oklahoma farm, I was not granted American citizenship and I was not granted a right to vote. We American Indians had to fight long and hard to have our citizenship and to have our right to vote. We American Indians greatly value our American citizenship and especially our right to vote. Do you know in the state of Maine my peoples were not allowed to vote until 1967 year? Much the same is true for our other states of the union. Is 1967 all that far back in time? How many of you enjoyed a right to vote back then? A lot of you, yes? You take your right to vote for granted. I read all these pundits and people writing, “No problem, voter fraud is so small this will not make a difference.” Those people do not value their votes. I greatly value my vote and I am extremely angry my vote will not count because of some traitor named, “Mickey Mouse”. I am even more angry, seething angry so many people are willing to throw away my single vote after my peoples struggled so hard to have our right to vote. What is wrong with Americans you place so little value upon our right to vote? My expectation is one-hundred of you readers will not vote on November 4 so my vote will count. I demand one-hundred of you not vote, you really do not care about your right to vote. Stay home, do not vote, you do not respect our right to vote and you do not care we are being robbed of our right to vote. Stay home, you do not deserve your right to vote. I care about my right to vote. I want my vote to count. I demand my right to vote and I demand my vote count. I am an American. Our country is America not some two-bit Banana Republic as many of you readers seem to believe. Okpulot Taha Choctaw Nation Returning to Obama’s advertisement, which is the topic. I view Obama’s advertisement as political propaganda, of the worst sort. All politicians, Democrat, Republican, Independent, all politicians pander to the public. We all know all politicians lie. Obama is a liar. McCain is a liar. Ralph Nader is a stringless yo-yo too stupid to lie. Readers are to accept this premise, all politicians are liars. What this leaves us with is odds of a politician effecting stated policies. We know Democrats are tax and spend just as we know Republicans are cut taxes and spend less. Those are the true issues upon which we are voting. All else, all the words and promises, are simply lies which are designed to “sell” us on a specific politician. Obama is selling himself to America. Obama is buying the presidency rather than earning the presidency. This is well evidenced by Obama spending almost a billion dollars selling himself. My vote cannot be bought, no way, no how. My vote has no price tag. During my college career, during my earning a Ph.D. in English, specifically creative writing, I attended classes in “film literature”. This is a study of film being used to “write” literature. Two of my classes presented political propaganda films related to Germany circa 1930-1940. No, I am not suggesting Obama is new age Nazi thing. Obama’s advertisement employed almost all of the historical methods of political propaganda. This is the use of symbolism, sound and situation to convey a “feeling” rather than a message. A waving field of growing grain — American heartland. Lots of background American flags — symbols of patriotism. Disadvantaged families — emotional compassionate appeal. Elderly having problems — appeal to responsibility for elderly care. Children having to do without — appeal to maternal instinct. Music, all of the music is aimed at setting a mood of great sadness, compassion, tragedy and shocking, guilt, lots of guilt music. What is truly shocking and what truly angers me to no end, some of the scenes were quick flashes of Obama with a “halo” around his head. Easy to miss in with our eyes, nonetheless this subtle technique is burned into our subconscious minds through our mind’s eyes. Obama presented himself as a messiah, as the Son of God. More simply, a person’s mind connects Obama to Jesus Christ through subtle imagery. This is subliminal suggestion which is unlawful to use in commercial advertisements. No, I am not writing Obama violated the law but I am writing our Federal Communications Commission has banned subliminal usage for advertisement being such a powerful and suggestive tool. How many viewers of the Obama advertisement now unconsciously associate Obama with Jesus Christ? I suspect, millions. This notion is well evidence by Obama being labeled the “Black Messiah” very early in our election process. Further evidence is Obama campaign posters depicting Obama with a halo around his head. This is easy to see being a static view, and this also causes viewers to associate Obama with Jesus Christ. This both scares me and angers me. Obama is not the Son of God nor is Obama a messiah. Obama is simply another lying politician. There is a cultural aspect to this, as well. My words are not to be construed to be racist. Black America, about 95% of blacks are voting for Obama. Many are fearful to discuss this. Whispered reason for this is blacks are voting skin color. This is a truth most will not speak. There is something else. Black America is typically very religious, fervently religious. Like many minority groups, and I am a member of the smallest minority group, there is always a search for a messiah to “save the people,” to deliver the people to freedom and justice. This is the Moses Complex. What effect does depicting Obama with a halo around his head have upon Black America? Written before, I watched this advertisement twice and penciled notes while I watched. I also paused this video, rewound this video, watched some scenes multiple times to be sure I am seeing correctly. Obama’s advertisement is political propaganda of the worst type. Obama is working at brainwashing America just like the Germans were brainwashed so long ago. No, again I am not writing Obama is another Hitler. No, Obama is a decent man but he is buying the presidency, not earning the presidency. Some of his methods are highly objectionable, specifically his propaganda techniques used in his advertisement. Personally, I would vote for Lucifer before I would vote for Obama. Lucifer can be trusted to do wrong, to lie, to trick. We know about Lucifer. We know almost nothing about Obama the man other than he is working at brainwashing America through political propaganda. I cannot and will not vote for Obama; I fear him but I do not fear the Devil. Starry Nite adds to reader interest, “I do apologize for tone- that was in reponse to “diddly -squat ” To say that you are not indian was disrespectful off the subject.” Girls negotiate, boys confront. Indians are simply always on the warpath. I accept and appreciate your apology. We can now move on. Some thoughts. I know you have never encountered a traditional American Indian. This is not extraordinary rather is simply a matter of numbers and culture. There are so few of us Indians, odds are good a typical Anglo will never meet an Indian, not off Indian lands. This is like your knowing about eagles, knowing a eagle when you see one, but you have never seen an eagle out in the wild. Culture is also a factor. We Indians strongly tend to stay with our own. There many cutural reasons for this but I will keep this simple by writing we simply avoid those not of our culture. I am an exception. Should I elect to “hang out” here for a period of time, you and other readers will “acclimate” to my personality. We traditional Indians are confrontational and aggressively assertive. This is a part of our cultural personality. Many studies have been made about and many books have been written about our rather unique cultural habits. I will not write a novel here rather I will write we Indians are typically really annoying, but not with deliberate intent. So, you have collided with a traditional Indian, now you are in for it. Perhaps time will allow some discussion about these extreme differences between Anglo and Indian. Okpulot Taha Choctaw Nation

Kryssi K comments, “why criticize those who are fat if it’s their parents’ faults?” Ooppss! You are quite correct. I should have better qualified my words. We are generally remiss to blame a child for what is a parental fault. I am thinking of adults who allow themselves to go, allow themselves to become fat. This is my objection, along with allowing a child to become fat. This is a serious problem. You make a good point and I failed to fully express my point. Yes, a child who grows to adulthood as a fat person, this is a mistake on the part of parents which becomes the responsibility of the child to correct. This is sad. Much of this is our being born to poverty and hard work. Within our rural farming culture, you do not see fat farmers. Half of this is family farmers simply enjoy a better diet. The other half is family farmers work much too hard to become fat. Result is I have an attitude, a prejudice of “fat” and “lazy” being synonymous. I see a fat person and I think lazy. Of course, this issue is much more complex but, overall, fat and lazy do travel together. I will qualify a bit better. I have no problem with chubby, you know, a bit of extra weight. I have been chubby, especially after childbirth. Took years to work off my chubby and my butt is still chubby! Elderly people tend to put on weight. This is ok if not to an extreme. Other words, I recognize there are genetic factors, physical composition, life events which lead to a bit of extra weight. My “fat” reference are the obvious, those people who are grossly fat which includes men with a beer belly. There is the opposite, people who are way too skinny, such as fashion models and super models. Being this skinny is as unhealthy as being fat. However, being skinny often results from our media brainwashing us to believe we are to look like women and men in Playboy or Vogue. This is crazy. To close, as a retired public school teacher, many of my students, most of my students, were fat. This really angers me. I am of an age of those who attended school and enjoyed full fledge physical education classes, even at a junior high (middle school) level and enjoyed classes in Home Economics, which you mention earlier. Some object to Home Economics being sexist. I disagree. During high school, Home Economics taught me how to cook in a “modern” way, how to eat better, how to sew, wash and tend to other stereotypical female roles. I have no objection to those classes and consider myself a better woman for having attended Home Economics classes. Finally, a bit of humor to truly close. When an early teen, my grandparents died and I was sent to California to live with relatives. On our farm, we cooked with a wood burning stove and heated water with the same stove, in a side tank. I felt such a dunce in Home Economics because I did not know how to use a natural gas stove! I even asked our teacher, “Where do you pour the water in?” She was quite confused by my question. Starry Nite comments, “Your mind was made up - before you saw the video. You missed some details.” No, I missed no details. Written before, I watched the Obama advertisement twice and I penciled notes while watching. During both watchings of this advertisement, I periodically stopped the video then wrote down notes on what I observed. I paid close attention and took notes. Did you do this? A rhetorical question begging “no” answer. Starry Nite adds, “I don’t believe you are really indian.” What you believe amounts to diddly-squat. I am quite sure you will be challenged to explain away my teaching Choctaw languange lessons online and for free. You will be more challenged to explain away my documented close associations with Choctaw in Eagletown, Oklahoma. This is all on my website, any can independently verify this through casual research. Kryssi K comments about birth control and obesity. Her comments are worthy of reading. Yes, Kryssi, I do agree with you on all your points. You have a realistic attitude much like my own and your thoughts are very intelligent. On birth control, I am a strong advocate of birth control. This is especially true for our young, our teenage population out there. We know teenagers are going to do the nasty. Darn it, at least make a good and sincere effort to have our kids practice birth control. I am sure you agree with me this would be better if teenagers did not engage in sex, but this is fairly much a hopeless cause. Birth control and safe sex is truly the only realistic answer. We must set aside our moral values and deal with reality, either that or lock our teenage kids in our kitchen pantries until they are thirty years old. On abortion, I somewhat support abortion but am not a strong advocate. My personal line is drawn at one month into pregnancy and I am still uncomfortable with this. Rape, incest, horrific birth defects, issues like these are very difficult and a decision should be made by the mother, if she is mature and good thinking. Mostly I am against abortion but respect this right and keep my mouth shut. Obesity, I do not accept any excuses for this. There is only one reason for being fat; eating too darn much. This is a parental responsibility. Parents are responsible to set a good role model and parents are responsible to make sure their kids do not become fat. Parents who are fat, parents who allow their kids to become fat, are irresponsible. Fat is simply caused by no self control, by eating too much. Cure for fat is no more difficult than stop stuffing food in your face. Being fat is really self-gratification. Being fat is selfish. Being fat is a symptom of being spoiled and self-centered. Two-thirds of Americans are rated as ranging from overweight to obese. This is disgusting. Fat kills. Fat is killing our children. Fat is child abuse. Fat parents do not love their kids. Fat is laziness. I would bet you if all Americans were of average acceptable weight, our country would save a hundred-billion dollars a year in food costs and related medical costs; we are eating our money, we are eating our children’s futures. Pattie E comments, “…why are you voting for McCain? are you saying that McCain….” John McCain was not in Obama’s commercial. Would you mind restating your thoughts so I can better understand how McCain is related to the Obama advertisement? Patti E continues, “I would not blame the victim of the last 8 years of policy set forth by the Bush administration. ” George Bush is not running for office of president. Bush was not in the Obama advertisement. How is Bush related to the Obama advertisement? My hunch is you are working up to blaming McCain for the actions of Bush. Rather clear John McCain is not George Bush and equally clear the two men are nothing alike. This argument McCain is Bush is plumb stupid. This informs all of America Obama is plumb stupid. As to our financial mess, this started way back with Clinton and Democrats, and started with Republicans as well. Both Democrats and Republicans are to blame for this by pushing Fannie Mae, Freddy Mac and other major lenders to finance homes for people who clearly could not afford homes. This is the “liberal” concept of equal opportunity. This finanical mess is not the fault of Bush nor Democrats nor Republicans, not even John McCain. The blame for this belongs to all of those of our government and to all Americans who spend more than they could afford. This is reality. Blaming our financial mess on Bush or McCain is plumb stupid. This directly indicates Obama is plumb stupid. Once again, our current financial mess is the fault of our entire government dating back to Clinton, and is the fault of financially irresponsible Americans. All are to blame. I will not play this plumb stupid game of pinning blame on any single person nor on any single political party; all are at fault, all are equally guilty. I am an American Indian truth speaker, I will not engage in deceit. Okpulot Taha Choctaw Nation

Facts! Americans have just about the least amount of savings of western nations and Americans have the highest credit card debt of western nations. Facts! Obesity is epidemic within all western nations. What leads to financial problems? Overspending, living a lifestyle beyond realized means. What leads to obesity? Overeating and no physical activity. Both of those problems are symptoms of being irresponsible. Why should I mince my words while Americans are not responsible enough to make sure their children have the best life possible? My habit is to hold people accountable for their actions. People who refuse to take responsibility for their lives do not deserve to complain. This is a fact. People who do not sacrifice for their children, do not have a right to complain. This is a fact. Difference between our family and most average American families is we hold ourselves accountable for our actions. We never complain because we know our quality of life rests in our hands.
