Comedian Wanda Sykes Comes Out Swinging Against Prop 8, Declares She's Married to a Woman

Judy K adds to reader value, “Better a loving relationship than a feeling of not being wanted anywhere.” Precisely. This is why I suggest children should not be left in the “social services” system; much better to be adopted regardless of family type. We are faced with challenges. My point about Mother Nature’s “intents” can be easily defeated by a counterpoint of single fathers, single mothers, grandparents as parents, an older sibling as a parent or gay parents. We could also present a counterpoint of dysfunctional families; alcoholism, abuse, mental disease and such. We could debate these issues of child rearing in forever circles. I suppose my true point is children should be provided the most natural and well balanced upbringing as possible, but this rarely happens. I support adoption of children by any person or couples who can demostrate both an ability to and willingness to be the best possible parent or parents. Again, this is based on my notion removing a child from the social services system is always beneficial. Bottom line is what you, Judy, write, “…so called normal families affect their children’s outlooks also.” This challenges us to define what is “normal”. If we could role back society to being hunters and gathers living in the wild, I suspect “normal” would quickly become apparent and well defined; this is what Mother Nature intended for us. Well, this is interesting. Obama is for gay rights. However, Obama is against gay marriage, saying in part, “…my religious beliefs say that marriage is something sanctified between a man and a woman.” If gay people are looking to Obama for support of gay marriage, this will not happen; Obama does not support gay marriage. Appears Wanda Sykes does not know Obama as well as she thinks. Personally, I do not care as long as gay rights and gay marriages do not infringe upon my rights nor my family’s life. We have rental homes. Our preference is to rent to gay people who we find to be neat, clean and very reliable. Gay people make excellent tenants; we like gay people. On the this issue of adopting children, I have some reservations. However, I believe having a gay couple adopt a child is much better than having this child remain in the “social services” system, which is typically destructive. My reservation on child adoption by gays has nothing to do with gender preference. My reservation is based strictly upon Mother Nature, more specifically, gender role modeling. We know Mother Nature intends for both a male and a female to be present as parents for mammals. This is critical for balanced role modeling; we are instinctive animals before all else. Girls need a mother for role modeling based upon instinctive feminine traits. Boys need a father for the same based upon masculine traits. These instinctive traits are many and are not learned behaviors but those instinctive traits do guide our learned behaviors. We measure successful parenting by looking at how a child turns out. This measure is based upon subjective observation. Is this child well behaved, abiding laws, a hard worker, successful in life? We measure successful parenting by societal standards which are set by acceptable behaviors. This is a subjective measure. I am concerned when a measure is performed by instinctive traits, this is, are instinctive traits normal, enhanced or diminished? An example is a gay couple of two women. No matter how much one partner works at a male role model, this will not succeed; he is a she. For male couples, she is a he. Another example, presume both women of a gay couple are feminine, no attempt at a male role model. This would skew a boy child’s instinctive traits to the feminine side. A girl child would be have her feminine instinctive traits amplified, far too much. We should not ban child adoption by gay couples but I do have sincere concern this might prove a disadvantage for children. Messing with Mother Nature almost always is not a good idea. Star writes, “According to this, 21 tribes in AZ.” You are surrounded! Best give up. I will put out the word you are a good girl, a good looking girl, at that. Expect a tall, brown skinned, muscular young brave wearing only a loin cloth to kidnap you, toss you on his horse, bareback, then ride off with you to be his squaw at his home in Taos, New Mexico, a gorgeous tri-level with a spectacular view. Relax, he is only an Indian on weekends. During the work week, he is a stock broker. I am sure you will enjoy his company. Sibelle writes, “I was raised in different countries and love all cultures.” I am absolutely fascinated by cultures of our world. There is a tiny culture, a tribe I am following very closely. This is a community of people who have never made contact with outsiders; our modern world is unknown to them. This presents a moral dilemma for all of us. Should we make contact, their cuture will be changed forever, possibly even destroyed. This would be very wrongful, morally wrongful. This culture lives in the Amazon in Brazil. Only photographs from airplanes is all we know about those people. When an airplane flies over, those people shoot arrows with longbows and make threatening gestures with spears. Sibelle, here is a short and easy reading news article. There is a link to photographs near top of page, http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2008/may/30/brazil.conservation So, do we make contact or leave them alone? I say no contact, stay away. Some readers will not like my words. The greatest threat those people face is Christian missionaries. Okpulot Taha Choctaw Nation

Cynthia McFadden Recalls Vitriolic Remarks Among John McCain Supporters Election Night

Sibelle Daubigne asks, “…where is or was Choctaw Nation?” Our nation is not so much a “place” as is a state of mind. This is true of almost all American Indian tribes. We do have Indian lands scattered all about our America. These are tracts of land our American government gave us just after the genocide. In all cases, this is land which is almost uninhabitable; thought worthless during the time period well over a century back. Long back, almost all American Indians were a nomadic peoples. We chased after the seasons and food supplies. Choctaw, Cherokee and other select tribes were concentrated in the deep South — Mississippi, Arkansas, Oklahoma and region. Apache, Comanche, Hopi, other tribes, ranged from Mexico to Wyoming but mostly were concentrated in Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. Our Cheyenne, Sioux, Crow and other tribes were concentrated in the Wyoming, Colorado, Utah and Canada general region. Those are the most well known tribes but not all tribes of America. American Indians populated all of the United States, from coast-to-coast, from northern Mexico to southern Canada. There was once tens of thousands of different tribes. Not quite five-hundred years back, estimates are there was 25 million to 30 million American Indians living in our America. Truth is, America was our American Indian Nation, all of America. Around 1900 year, after over 400 years of genocide, our total American Indian population, this is the total for all tribes, there was only about 250,000 American Indians left alive — about a quarter million. Thousands of tribes became extinct, gone forever. Estimates are Anglos slaughtered around 15 million to 20 million American Indians directly, and millions more died through forced starvation, exposure and disease. During the 1800 years period, our government began setting aside “reservations” for American Indians. These were large tracts of land deemed not worthy for habitation. A nationwide effort began to relocate American Indians to these lands scattered all over America. This was an effort to finish off my ancestors; our government knew (thought) Indians would not survive after relocation. You are familiar with “death marches” inflicted upon our soldiers by the Japanese during World War II era. My ancestors suffered death marches to a magnitude a thousand times worse, at the hands of our government. History has “The Trail of Tears” as the most infamous death march but readers are to know these types of death marches took place all over our country. This is just one of many death marches. A link for readers, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trail_of_Tears Readers will note my Choctaw were amongst many tribes of The Trail of Tears. Readers are to note this is not the only death march rather is one of many death marches. End result, Sibelle, is American Indian tribes became scattered, disbanded, disorganized and without any “nation” as we think of this term. Today, my peoples have pulled together, have united, have formed our own governments within our tribes but not so much within our lands. Most national level tribal centers are located on reservations, some are not. Our sense of “nation” is our collective tribal body, our peoples, not so much our Indian lands. My Choctaw is a good example of the organization of most tribes across America. Our nation is officially headquartered in Durant, Oklahoma. However, the true heart of our nation is in Eagletown, Oklahoma, were I was born and raised. Here is a link for readers to enjoy, http://www.choctawnation.com/ This is our official website. There you can learn much about our nation. You will find a tiny note at top, “Serving 185,825 Choctaws Worldwide.” Before the genocide, there were several million Choctaw. Before the genocide, my ancestors spoke Choctaw. Today, estimates are only 12 thousand to 15 thousand of us can speak Choctaw. I am one. To close, Sibelle, an important notion is our traditional peoples had no sense of “nation” as we know today. No sense of property lines, no sense of boundaries. We were nomadic and our “lands” were wherever our feet took us chasing after the seasons and food. An interesting note is I can step inside our reservaton, other reservations, and no state government nor our federal government can touch me without tribal council permission. We American Indians are sovereign nations; I can stand one inch over the “line” and thumb my nose at the United States and none can touch me. I am a citizen of the Choctaw Nation first, then a citizen of the United States, second. However, I am a patriotic American before all else. Sibelle, thank you for expressing interest my culture, I appreciate this. Never hesitate to ask questions about my peoples; we are pleased to share with you and truly enjoy telling others about our culture and our ways. Clinton Considering Secretary Of State Position, Say Sources

For readers who are curious about my “one term president” comment, my view is quite pragmatic. This view is our economic issues will eat Obama alive. He cannot, being realistic, cure our economic problems in one term nor make any significant difference. My pragmatic premise is Obama does not have any money to throw at this problem. Additionally, the democrat’s philosophy of tax and spend will prove a disaster. Our country is too far into debt to continue spending money. Our American checking account is overdrawn and our lenders, such as China, have their own problems. Obama will have no money with which to work. Even if he did, this is the wrong approach. Only cure for our economic problems is to drastically cut government spending and to drastically lower taxes, especially for business and commerce. A good parallel example is California. Our muscle head governor ran on promise of fiscal responsibility. Today, California is bankrupt, 17 billion dollars in debt and Arnold is pushing for tax increases making California’s overall tax rate the second highest in the nation, and the highest in the nation for Los Angeles. This will reduce consumer spending and drive even more business out of California. Arnold’s popularity rating was very high early on. Now only 40% approve of his work and 75% believe California is headed in the wrong direction. Some of this is related to the real governor, his democrat wife, Maria Shriver, who pulls the strings. Arnold is terminated. This is what I see happening to Obama. In four years our ecomony will not be much better, people will be paying higher taxes and paying higher prices for goods and services because of Obama raising taxes on corporate America. Addtionally, savvy affluent are already in the process of withdrawing money from our economy to avoid higher Obama taxes. Towards the end of Obama’s first term, his popularity rating will plummet, like Arnold’s ratings, Americans will still feel our country is headed in the wrong direction, and Obama will be significantly weakened. Obama has already lost. He cannot cure our economy during his first term and, fair or not, Americans will hold him accountable. Our economy will defeat him. Our economy will cure itself, which is the only cure, but not before the end of Obama’s first term. There will be some improvement for our underlying economic foundation, but no real improvement for American families, who are always last in line for economic benefits. Obama is unaware there is nothing he can do. No president, Obama, McCain, no president will be successful at curing our economy; this must cure itself through free market capitalism forces. Think McCain; he could not cure our economy but he could bring government spending under control which is needed during a time period of falling tax revenues; the Arnold quandary. Hillary will be challenged. An incumbant president usually has the advantage but not always; Jimmy Carter. Challenge is Clinton must convince America she can do better than Obama. Doubtful she can pull this off; very rare an incumbant president is not handed the party nomination. Sarah Palin will stand up and say, “Look at all the good I have done for Alaska.” In 2012, our Sarah will truly be in the position of power. She stands a good chance to be elected and our economy will cure itself during her presidency setting her up for a second term of office. This is my pragmatic view. Okpulot Taha Choctaw Nation

Clinton Considering Secretary Of State Position, Say Sources

Ro Hansen comments about Hillary Clinton, “What if anything, would she lose?” She would lose her shot at the presidency, lose her power and her lose her dignity. No U.S. Secretary of State becomes president, least not for going on two centuries. Check me on this, I am working from high school History class memory, I think Buchanan was the last Secretary of State to become president. Correct me if I am mistaken. Clinton will lose her power by giving up her legislative position. She will not be able to write bills, lobby for bills nor vote on bills. With her doing so well in the primaries she holds a lot of power; she is backed by Americans, a lot of Americans. This provides her with significant sway in the House. She can strengthen her base by working directly for our peoples on a domestic level. Her dignity will be damaged. As Secretary of State she will be Obama’s puppet. Her personality, I think, will not allow for her taking orders from Obama, orders with which she disagrees. If she accepts this position, in a sense she will be bending the knee before the man who robbed her of the presidency. Looking forward, she will have a better shot at the 2012 presidency remaining a senator. Americans will retain their view she is a powerful woman with a mind of her own should she decline this position. Bending the knee before Obama would be a display of personal weakness. Declining the position seems her best option if she is to defeat Palin next round of presidential elections; Obama will be a one term president. Okpulot Taha Choctaw Nation

Star Lawrence is shocked, “Did you really tell Liz Smith to bare all?” Heck yeah! She is a Texan, she knows how to handle a bit of ribbing, and she has spunk. As Sibelle points out, Liz is making herself available to Playboy magazine. Hugh is much too old for Liz but of an age he should show off our elders. I would think Hugh would tire of adopting daughter and daughter. You know, the Woody Allen thing. Playgirl is out of circulation now, much to my consternation. After decades of Playboy, I tire of seeing barely legal plastic fantastic air brush Barbie dolls. In time, those teenage girls begin to look all the same. Maybe this is why Hugh goes through girlfriends like he goes through boxer shorts — and Viagra. Eventually, you reach a point of “what’s to see?” This is why all of us in our family are nudists, which has an added benefit of saving on clothing costs and laundry costs. I would bet we save over a grand a year being nudists, and have fun doing so! Do you know how much money you can make (or lose) by dumping a grand into high risk penny stocks? This is not like I would want to see the good Queen Elizabeth in the nude nor see Oprah Winfrey in the nude. But Liz, yeah, this would be fun. Liz still has what it takes, she is a classy hard working woman. I bet you Liz could make Hugh forget about those young Valley Girls. Okpulot Taha Choctaw Nation

The Vancouver Conversations Part Three: Finance Confessions From a Few wOw Women

A WoW editor writes, in part, “…convened on Mary Wells’s yacht, Strangelove, in Vancouver for a glorious summer weekend of good friends and great conversation.” Stop. Just stop right there. How are you to connect with those of us who are waitresses, factory workers, teachers or the most important of all, mother and homemaker? We do not sit around on a luxury yacht, sipping champagne and nibbling strawberries, while discussing how we women should handle our money or our family money. I will exempt Liz Smith from my rant; her head is in the right place, reality. No doubt readers can connect with this. I have been a farm hand, have worked the oil fields of West Texas, picked cotton in Arizona, been a waitress and even a factory worker punching a time clock and having my dinner bucket searched to be sure I am not stealing from the company. Today, I am an English professor. I do not own a luxury yacht but I do own and drive a rust bucket ‘52 Chevy pickup which rattles so loud I cannot hear myself think. Paid cash for that piece of junk, which I dearly love. Any readers having difficulties connecting to where I am coming from? Tell ya what, girlfriends, meet with me down at Frank’s Bar and Grill over by the railroad tracks on Third Street. We can sit around in this greasy spoon café eating stale tacos and overly cheesy burritos, washed down with beer which would be better left in the horse from which it came. We can sit around and I will share with you how to become wealthy and not lose touch with reality nor humility. There are no fancy palor tricks to becoming wealthy. You only need to work your fingers to the bone, do without, have a strict budget and never, absolutely never hand your money over to someone else to manage. I simply must rant. Greatest mistake young couples make is having a child or children too soon and too many. Forget that romantic notion. Children are very expensive and children will strain your relationship. You should not have a child until you are fully financially able and fully mature. You are responsible for a child, and this responsibility includes providing the best life possible for your child, or children. Part of your responsibility is financial responsibility. Next greatest mistake young couples make is spending more than they earn. This is precisely why our economy is in a mess. If you cannot pay cash, you cannot afford whatever this is you are buying. A notable exception is buying a home. However, if you are living off a credit card, what the heck are you doing buying a home? Another great mistake of young couples is not being willing to take any work you can find, including picking cotton or working for slave wages as a waitress. I will quit with my rant. Only path to wealth is being responsible, working really hard and making a lot of sacrifices. If you are dreaming of partying on a luxury yacht, you are just a dreamer. You should be working on making time for a second job rather than dreaming. Gads, I could rant about this topic for years. Liz Smith, you write, “…I always thought if I was making $200 a week, I was really doing great.” During our early years, this is more money than our farming family could save up over the course of a year. Nontheless, I well connect with your comment. There was a time in our lives when earning $200 per week was a real luxury; we felt to be rich. You have been there, you know the experience of the average American, the average woman. Readers can connect with you and your experiences. I respect you for this, Liz Smith. Spending a weekend on a luxury yacht to discuss how women should handle their money, no, stop right there. Readers cannot connect with this type of experience; this is not realistic. Frank’s Bar and Grill over by the railroad tracks, a cheap greasy spoon café, yeah, this is where people connect, this is where people enjoy reality. Okpulot Taha Choctaw Nation

Did you use a condom the first time you had sex?

What are condoms? Being born on and raised on a rural Oklahoma farm with little chance to attend school, my sex education consisted of watching a bull do cows and watching a stallion do mares. Boy howdy, I sure received a lot of butt switchings from grandpa for my standing around watching those magnificent shows. Not a butt switching for watching rather a butt switching for not tending to my daily farming chores. Of course there were plently of other animals providing sex education for us kids. Chickens, hogs, rabbits, squirrels, and certainly wild dogs amongst the wild mix. Dogs, totally disgusting. Dogs just stand there with their butts glued together while panting and drooling. Yuck. Bulls and stallions, now this is a vivid big screen sex education! I did eventually learn an old Indian trick of lying low in tall grass to watch bulls and stallions without being gored or kicked, and mostly to avoid a grandpa butt switching. When my future husband returned from Vietnam, returned to health from his wounds, returned to our farm to resume his life, this is when I began my earnest sex education. I also learned new old Indian tricks, like hiding around the corner of our farm house, crawling under our wood plank porch or standing very still amongst corn stalks, all to listen to the boys swap lies about their manly adventures. In time, I heard remarks about a “rubber” but this took me a month of Sundays to figure out where a rubber fits. I did ponder how you would go about putting one of those on a bull or on a stallion. Those boys would talk about wearing a rubber so there would not be any extra farm hands. My boy would often quip, “Yeah, I sow wild oats on Saturday night and pray for crop failure on Sunday.” Grandpa had us plant potatoes under a full moon, always. This makes sense. Planting oats on a Saturday night, no, this is plumb silly. Never heard the word “condom” least not until well into my adulthood and my motherhood. I did quickly learn of “tying the knots” after giving birth to our girl. I told my husband, “I ain’t ever doing that again. That was not fun.” I cussed him for several months after, I mean, he was completely at fault for knocking me up. We have never use condoms. I suppose this is a benefit of being monogamous, well, at least with my husband, sorta. We do have those two French lesbian girlfriends of an intimate twenty years. At least he has not knock up one of them like he did me. I think he learned a lesson from all my cussing after our girl was born, or our lesbian, most of the time lesbian girlfriends, practice birth control. However, an important however, we, both my husband and I, made sure our girl received the best of a sex education. We started with her when young, made sure she understands both the benefits of healthy sex and the dangers of unhealthy sex. We made sure she knows about condoms, birth control, risk of disease and death, along with good sexual mores and responsible fidelity. Of course, when she entered her early teens, I locked her up in my kitchen pantry until she was well into her twenties. Plenty of food and water in there, along with a thunder bucket. Not shared here at WoW, each summer break from school, I hauled our girl back to Oklahoma or hauled her to an Indian reservation in northern New Mexico or up to the Lakotas, to live, to learn of, to experience her parents’ early lifestyle. We wanted her to understand our beginnings, to understand both our failures in life and our successes in life. We are her role models, as dubious as this is. Quite fun, you know, just the two of us, mother and young daughter, standing around out in a pasture to watch a bull do cows or a stallion do mares. This is one heck of a show and a good way to open up conservation with a child about sex education. We never received a butt switching for this; grandpa was not around to remind us of our chores to be done. I wish he was. Okpulot Taha Choctaw Nation

The Saudi Car Ride That Shook the World - 18 Years Later

Walter Wallis writes, “It is time for reciprocity. Saudi men in the United States must be denied….” Walter! You are being very unfair! You should not target just Saudi men. No, you should be fair and target all Islamic men. I am being sarcastic, Walter. Some claim Islam is the second most widespread religion of our world, at about 1.5 billion followers. Christianity is claimed to be the most widespread at about 1.5 billion followers worldwide. Looks to be a tie to me. My American Indian spiritual belief system does not even make the charts. I suspect this is related to Christians slaughtering my peoples to a point of near extinction. Are the Islamic slaughtering people around our world? Be honest! Yes, they sure as heck are. However, topic is Islamic women. I do not much cotton to this Islamic law women are less valuable than a dead dog lying out under sunshine, bloating and rotting. No need for me to relate these horror stories about treatment of Islamic women coming in from all around our world. A most basic foundation of religion is God tells us, all are to be treated as equals and all are to be treated with kindness and love. This “all” includes women. I am a prompted to ask, “Why do we consider Islam to be a religion?” Okpulot Taha Choctaw Nation

McCain Campaign Manager Exonerates Palin In Clothing Debacle

Here is a prime example of our American mainstream media simply lying to America. Our friend up there, Tee Zee, quotes the Associated Press on Bill Ayers. This is the same Associated Press who declared Sarah Palin a racist because Palin referred to Obama as being a “socialist.” Clear on this? Should you use our word “socialist” when discussing Obama, the Associated Press will declare you a racist. Huh? So, the Associated Press spins this big story there is nothing to this Bill Ayers connection to Obama. AP spins Ayers as a truth speaking political activist who would not even step on a kitchen cockroach. Not a single mention by AP this Bill Ayers is directly contradicting his own words of record and directly contradicting his actions of record. With only a few minutes of casual research, you will discover Ayers is directly contradicting his past words. Go on, research a bit. You will discover Ayers is lying through his teeth. All of this is a matter of historical record which can independently verified by any person. No need to take my word for this. I invite you to assume me a liar then perform a bit of research to compare Ayers’ previous words with Ayers’ current words. Go on, research and discover your own truth. AP labels Palin a racist for her labeling Obama a socialist. Now AP is spinning Ayers to be an American hero, contradicting Palin’s words about Ayers. Associated Press, alleged to be one of the most reliable and truthful news sources. Reality is Associated Press is one of the most unreliable and most deceitful of news sources. Obama is a socialist. OH NO! I am a racist! Huh? Why is this Americans believe everything they read? Okpulot Taha Choctaw Nation

McCain Campaign Manager Exonerates Palin In Clothing Debacle

Elaine Al Meqdad is truthful, “…as for all those who jumped on the bandwagon with foolish folly in criminalizing Sarah over something she didn’t do, need to buck up and apologize….” Julie Smith is truthful, “I think the media has a lot of apologizing to do to Gov. Palin.” I will be equally truthful. There is more than a need for the many of our American mainstream media to apologize to Palin, there is an expectation on my part for those of our mainstream media to apologize to America then resign their positions within our media industry. As Elaine writes, this “won’t happen.” Our American mainstream media is no longer interested in performing a service for America through factual unbiased reporting to help Americans become well informed. Today, our mainstream media is only interested in boosting audience ratings, most often, through sensationalism and gossip. This is intellectually insulting. Our mainstream media views all Americans as gullible gits whose only interest is learning of dirty laundry. Our media views us as mindless cattle to be trained to buy whatever story is being spun and, more important, to buy their advertisers’ products. Look at all this gossip reporting about Sarah Palin. Our media, CBS, NBC, ABC, New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Boston Globe, San Francisco Chronicle, on and on, our mainstream media had Palin doing “things” she never did. “NEWS FLASH: Palin Spotted In Tiffanys Buying Diamond Encrusted Breast Pump For Her Whoring Pregnant Daughter With Tax Payer Money!” This type of deceit is not limited to just Palin nor politics. This type of deceit is widespread and is found in all news topics. Written before here and elsewhere, these days I turn to foreign news sources for higher quality and more truthful news reporting. Most ironic I find our traditional “enemies” to be a more reliable source of objective truth. These days I actually turn to Al Jazeera and Russian news sources to determine if what I am reading and hearing from our American mainstream media is truth, or media hype. However, the best source of truth comes from our small town newspapers and small town radio stations. Part of my parsing of news sources is to first spot tags, CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, FOX and big name newspapers and magazines, such as the New York Times along with Time, Newsweek and The Hill. I skip over those and go right straight to little known, little town new sources, which I know can be more trusted to be truthful. Yeah, I am third in line to call for an apology from our mainstream media to Palin, and an apology to all Americans for assuming us to be gullible gits, but this “won’t happen.” I am first in line to shout at our mainstream media, “You’re Fired!” Okpulot Taha Choctaw Nation

What is your best beauty tip?

Lena B writes with a smile, “My best beauty tip is to smile more. Don’t be concerned with laugh lines, smiling is a sign of inner beauty.” Yes! Yours is very wise advice. Much can be read from a person’s face, especially older time engraved people. Personality and character, this is where we find the beauty, and the ugly. Too often I see older people with cynical scowl lines surrounding their mouths. Right off, you know these are people you typically want to avoid. A companion feature of scowl people is a deeply furrowed brow, a constant angry look. You look at those people and know you will not be able to afford them a smile, not be able to give them a laugh and, certainly, they will not gift you with your own smile nor your own sound of laughter. I always go for the people with crow’s feet around their eyes and smile lifted cheeks. A companion feature of smilers is a brow which points upward in the center, a look of told joke surprise. Strikes me smilers always have a sparkle in their eyes regardless of how old. Not so much a beauty thing, a feature I almost always look for is callus on hands. This mark of pride comes only from hard work, and this mark of earning your own way never completely vanishes; callus is forever. Nothing impresses me more than a rough callus handshake. Smile! You are so right, Lena! A smile is the greatest beauty we can display, and the most powerful beauty we can display. Okpulot Taha Choctaw Nation

Liz Smith comments, “We still need diversity and tolerance here especially on this site.” This is critically important. You are to be commended for embracing diversity. Without attention to diversity in opinion, we end up in a mess like our country and world suffers today. None of us are so smart to know everything. However, working together we can know a lot. I am honor bound to respond to you. Much to your annoyance, you are our elder. More important, Liz, you are a Texan at heart. How could I possibly ignore a Texas cowgirl? Besides, you and friends are providing a forum for me to further my worldwide infamy. Liz, within my _traditional_ culture, we display sincere respect for our elders who are often our tribal leaders; chief, medicine man, shaman and such. Our elders show sincere respect in return. This respect they display for our and their peoples is holding council to both listen to and to consider much diversity in opinion. We are all well represented and decisions made by our elders are based upon what is best for all peoples, not the few, not the select, all peoples. Their decisions often require sacrifice by all, and provide benefit for all. We honor those decisions by working together for the benefit of our tribe and beyond. Obama is not our elder but we are honor bound to respect him and to support him. Our duty is to both agree with him and to disagree with him. In turn, Obama is listen to and to consider our diversity in opinion. He must do this or he is lost. Half of American voted for Obama. Half of America did not. Obama is honor bound to represent all of us, not just his half. He must do this or he is lost. Should he be true to America and finds himself lost, I expect him to ask, “sa yoshoba, is sia apela hinla?” I am lost, will you help me? Amongst the greatest of powers we can enjoy, is humility. Oh yes, I would pay Playboy to do a nude pictorial of you. Not for prurient interest nor to make a statement about our elders, rather I would enjoy learning how life and time have molded you and shaped you; nudity tells much about a person, tells of how much you respect yourself. I suspect you display a handsome respect for yourself. Okpulot Taha Choctaw Nation
