Sadly it was from her own mouth. This is very bittersweet for me because my father is from Mexico so this is coming from one Latina to another.

Her comment was racist. I do not feel that she can be objective. She does not believe that people should own a gun and that it is unconstitutional. The reason why the fireman issue was discovered was because a colleague of her’s saw what happened and called her on it. By the way, her colleague was hispanic. So I am giving a fellow hispanic a high-five for doing the right thing. If you are the best of the best then why did the fireman get passed over. If you are saving lives then you need the best of the best. Period.

My opinion and I am standing firm on it. God BLESS America and take care!

It was another Hispanic who called her out on it and good for him. Those individuals made the qualifications and they were the best of the best. So why were they overlooked? I would like to have a healthy debate about this.

Out of curiosity what is with the love for Barney and Teddy exactly. Have there been improvements in Massachusetts in the last two decades?

I am not a fan of Barney and I keep reminding myself that he is part of the Democratic party that I left behind in 2008. I am also not a fan of ACORN especially after viewing the Glenn Beck show. What is happening with the Democratic party is saddening. There will be more people registering Independents next election or Republican. People are now opening their eyes.

Martin Luther King, Jr. was born on January 15, 1929 at his family home in Atlanta, Georgia. King’s grandfather was a Baptist preacher, and his father was pastor of Atlanta’s Ebenezer Baptist Church. King earned his own Bachelor of Divinity degree from Crozier Theological Seminary in 1951 and earned his Doctor of Philosophy from Boston University in 1955. As a Baptist Minister, he was an eloquent civil rights movement leader from the mid-1950’s until his death by assassination on April 3, 1968 in Memphis, Tennessee where he was there to support striking sanitation workers. King registered as a Republican in 1956.

As pastor of a Baptist church in Montgomery, Alabama, King led a black bus boycott. He and ninety others were arrested and indicted under the provisions of a law making it illegal to conspire to obstruct the operation of a business. King and several others were found guilty, but appealed their case. A Supreme Court decision in 1956 ended Alabama’s segregation laws enacted by Democrats. After this success, King was made president of the newly established Southern Christian Leadership Conference. King led the 1963 March on Washington where he delivered his most famous “I Have a Dream” speech. King became a national hero as he promoted non-violent means to achieve civil rights reform. He was awarded the 1964 Noble Peace Prize for his efforts, and President Ronald Reagan made King’s birthday a national holiday.

Thanks Mary. It is venom. This is like the 4th post that she bashes religion. Why?! "Killing them not only kills a person, it kills the potential for good that would come along with them." Very true. I have friends who had abortions and let me tell you it has led them to drink/do drugs. There’s been self-hatred, guilt, unhappiness, sorrow and the lists goes on. It ends relationships as well. I think it’s a loveless action and the ghost of that baby haunts. I remember back in the day of Roe vs Wade supporters argue well it’s not a life yet.  I suggest that every woman (especially athiests) should go to a doctor and ask when does life begin? He/she will give you scientific proof . Technology is so advance now and women have many options. Condoms, birth control, men can get fix if they want, women can get fix if they want, adoption . Condoms cost a $1 and there are some places that you can get them for free. There are so many options now. However, why do some women think ABORTION is the only option in 2009 is a sadnees to me.

I did NOT vote for Bush. Let me repeat I did NOT vote for Bush. I use to live in San Fran and I knew a man named Caj P who always went to the library. Stop making accusations about homophobia because you CLEARLY do not know me. Enough with the gay baiting. Half of my friends in San Fran were gay and they would stand up for me in a heart beat. I am calling you on it.
