Journo Blames Michelle Obama for President's PM Brown 'Snub'
March Is Women's History Month. What is the most important moment in U.S. history for the advancement of women? Biggest setback?
The best is certainly the right to vote. The biggest setback… that we still subborn our needs to the wants of men. That we STILL define ourselves using a male based value system This plays out in so many ways, defining fashion with Laboutin heels that destroy our spines and our feet. Requiring the Equal Rights movement to hate men to have validity. We turn woman against woman, career lady against stay at home mom, when both are beautiful powerful role models. We dress six year olds like tarts because all the role models out there for girls use sexuality to create appeal I don’t care if it is Barbie or Miley Cyrus.
Even the most powerful women stop short of creating a new paradigm. Yes, Hillary is Sec.State and almost made it to the Presidency, but she had to (in her own mind) "stand by her man" to get the shot. She put her hopes in Bill Clinton and had to suffer multiple humiliations along the way. His wants always over rode her needs in his mind, and that was acceptable to her. When will we create social sign posts that teach our daughters to honor their own needs first, and see masculine behavior for what it is without coloring it with fantasy or excuse.
What do you think of Rihanna's rumored return to alleged abuser Chris Brown?
Unfortunately, she is being used and ill-used. Chris Brown knows his career is over if this is left as is. His image is shot and he is despised as a beater of women. That ruins his marketing as clean and wholesome and fun. He will do and say anything to prevent being flushed. The fact that there is no one at her side laying these facts out for her and protecting her from his manipulations is sad. But this is where women are constantly vulnerable, bright talented women are encouraged to believe that they NEED a man to validate their existence. Tina Turner should be asked to perform an intervention.
You see this mindset in so many of these musical ladies, and it is ALWAYS their downfall. Whitney Huston had the world by the nuts until she trusted Bobby Brown. Britney Spears and Kevin Federline. Tina and Ike (but she learned the lesson well!). Rosemary Clooney and Jose Ferrer. We need to change what we tell our girls about who they are and what is important. That is the only way this kind of thing will stop.
Poll: Republicans Reject Rush as Party Leader
Wait until this ploy, like most, turns around and bites them in the a$$. And it will, their need to define the Republicans by Limbaugh in his current incarnation is stupid at best and dumb as hell at worst. Most of the "republicans" genuflecting before Mr. Limbaugh couldn’t discuss conservative ideas with a dictionary.
When you look at the root of "Conservative" it is to conserve, that has to do with resources, time, space, whatever you use. No one as conspicuously consumptive as Rush Limbaugh can possibly be regarded as Conservative by those who practice its tenets. He wastes too much… money, jet fuel, energy, alcohol, food, air and time.
Please understand gleeful liberals, you can tell yourselves that he is a leader but truly conservative leaning independents and republicans, while we enjoy watching you squirm and shout, and carry on; wouldn’t let him lead us to the bathroom, if we had to go.

You come off like Lee. You do your good deedw your way and others do theirs theirs.
Don’t judge… just do what you can.

Women's Priorities: Money No. 1, Men No. 2? by The Love Goddess
It is time for men to take their rightful place in our lives and I don’t think it is at #1. Relationships yes, love yes but men…I’m not sure. Perhaps it is because of my own experiences or mistaken choices but I think I have given men, and then finally one man in particular, more power than anyone should have in another person’s life.
As I move forward into widowhood, I find myself interested in friendships, but not yet a love relationship. I put too much of myself into them and do not get enough in return. My choice? Certainly, but it was a choice I was socialized into believing was correct. I am focused on my singing again and have no interest in meeting someone who wants me to focus my energy on them.
There is a rune stone which defines how I will try to relate to men from this point on, "Let the winds of heaven dance between you."
I interpret that as be whole and strong and self reliant. Don’t choose a relationship because you think you need it, choose it because it uplifts you.

Blago's Tell-All Book to Expose 'Dark Side of Politics'
If he has a real tale to tell I would head to the Australian Outback to write it. But the truth is, without extensive documentation he is just telling tales, those who want to believe him will, those who don’t will not.
Wgich side do you suppose the media will come down on?

Food for thought to thinking people on both sides of this discussion
A well-known self-destructive cycle of democratic behavior has been attributed to an eighteenth century historian by the name of Alexander Tytler. Whether Tytler is the original author or not, the concept of democratic self-destruction has been proven accurate, right here in America.
“From bondage to spiritual faith;
From spiritual faith to great courage;
From courage to liberty;
From liberty to abundance;
From abundance to complacency;
From complacency to apathy;
From apathy to dependence;
From dependence back into bondage.”
Where would you put US (America) in this cycle.
respectfully submitted

caj p,
With respect, if the #s in the WSJ article posted are correct the economy has gone from responding to Bush policies to Obama intentions. Obama has stated what he wants to change, the Democrats have produced a bill larded with unnecessary income redistribution and a clear intention of raising tax rates on everyone. So the business sector is responding with fear.
May I also reiterate the point that Rush is no longer the icon (if he ever was) for thinking Republicans. He may tout his 40 million but I would be willing to bet my farm that the poster who said listeners are abandoning him in droves is correct. He is a laughingstock to genuine Republicans these days, for all the reasons you have stated. Drug use, sexual abuse of young girls in countries where that is profitable (he is no better than Gary Glitter), he is indeed starting to make mistakes. There was a time when mistakes on his show were rare, that time has passed. There was a time when HUMOR was an essential element of his show, that time has passed. There was a time when he believed in what he was doing for the good of the country and not the Glorification of Limbaugh. THAT TIME HAS MOST DEFINITELY PASSED.
I pity Michael Steele for his groveling, a leader leads. He leads no one when he apologizes to a drug addled hypocrite. For the Republican party to survive it will need to find leaders, people with courage. But the same is true of the Democrats, a real leader would have told Pelosi and her greed heads to pull out every dime of wasteful spending or he wasn’t signing the bill, instead he caved. We, the country, are in deep trouble and the cowardice on both sides is just going to make it worse.

Elie Wiesel: 'Psychopath Is Too Nice a Word' for Bernie Madoff
Elie Wiesel: 'Psychopath Is Too Nice a Word' for Bernie Madoff
Sociopath. He knew what he was doing was wrong and didn’t care. He knew that many individuals would trust him and be destroyed by their trust causing ripples across generations and he didn’t care. He knew that he would eventually be found out and his family shamed and he didn’t care. He knew that his race would once again be unjustly labeled and even that didn’t matter to him.
What really angers me is that all of the damage he has done to hundreds if not thousands of people and he is not in a dirty, stinky jail cell. He needs to experience some of the poverty he has handed to others and it is not happening. The lousy food, the scratchy jumpsuits, the personal disrespect that comes with committing a serious crime and he is still sleeping on his 600 thread count sheets, drinking out of his crystal glasses and looking down on the world from his penthouse in the sky. Can someone justify this for me?
