Belinda, My impression when met her at an event is that she is very decent, clear-minded and earnestly devoted to America and our Constitution. She has to be worth well over $400 million and is so down-to-Earth. Whatever she does is with a lot of brains, investigation and thought…she has tremendous will power but a very unassuming manner. Like you I think she’s just great…and hope this happens. Speaking of great, last night some friends and I rewatched “Waiting to Exhale.” Loved that film/the book and the pro-active step that author Terry McMillan [then, a school teacher] took by faxing every bookstore in the US a blurb prior to its release. But Angela Bassett is just so terrific. Love the scenes where she torches her husband’s suits and car, gets her long hair cut very short [I’m thinking no! horrors no! love long hair, but incredibly she looks even more gorgeous with short hair] and the last New Year’s Eve scene. I love her. Because she is also discrete like Caroline, many don’t know she has a Yale MA in fine arts…and she’s an Ambassador to UNICEF. So beautiful…and 50! What a lady.

Whe I really loathe that see today in resorts, is the intrusive flat screen TV dominating the living room. Certaintly they can figure out some casework to hide it behind when not in use. The Beanie Baby mad bought San Ysidro Ranch and immediately installed those hideous things in all the charming cottages. I’d like to be at Parrot Cay right now. Love palm trees….very elegant and whimsical.

Belinda, She is a lawyer, has written books on Constitutional issues, and among other things heads the Kennedy Center of Government at Harvard, the Profile in Courage Awards etc. She has been plenty involved in politics her entire life, cut her teeth on it, just not out in front. And from what I read tonight she is the one who suggested she be considered for the seat. So hope it happens.

J Mark—-The point is that you question CBK’s qualification to be a Senator…..and compared to many in the Senate….Vitter/Craig etc…she is infinitely more fit to serve. Sandbee, Obama has received kudos all around for assembling a great team that will be ready from day one, he can’t just grab hold of the reins with Bush in office. He will be slammed no matter what he does. If he acts forcefully he will be seen as arrogant and over the line, offending the current administration. If he isn’t forceful enough, then he’s sharing the blame, though not in office, for the Bush catastrophe. If our Founding Fathers were alived the Bush administration would have been yanked out of the WH and hung along time ago..as they deserve to be. They are really disgusting and have done nothing but ransack this nation by design.

It is sad that someone who had everything threw it all away and ruined so many lives in the process. He put a 36 year old mother and Ron Goldman in their early graves in the most brutal of ways. Hopefully he can think of some way to redeem himself. How can anyone think it is OK to storm a hotel room with guns and think that’s OK because the people with his ‘stuff’ were ‘friends.’ Does that mean if a friend of mine has something belonging to me I can get an armed group together and storm her house, terrifying her, and take what I want ? Caroline is an attorney, has written a number of very fine books on Constitutional issues, presides over the Profile in Courage Awards, the Kennedy Center programs, the Kennedy Center for Government at Harvard, has been in the political arena since birth, has tremendous clout and brains. The idea that imbecile in the WH who’d be incompetent at running a gas station didn’t get his ‘appointment’ because his name is Bush, and that Caroline Kennedy…an actual brain with legitimate accomplishments isn’t qualified is a joke.
