AirFrance Plane Still Missing; Officials Say Little Hope for Good News

So sad. My prayers to the passengers, crew and families. My son recently flew to and from France on Air France airbusses, and I have two sisters in Paris right now, flying Air France!!

Whoopi Goldberg on the Best (Chanel No. 5) and Worst (Burnt Hair) Scents

Best .. the air after a rain .. bread baking .. a wood fire ..

Worst .. rye whiskey, liver cooking, eucalyptus (funereal) ..

Of Presidential Mistresses, and Me: A Confession by Margo Howard

He had many many affairs, and many concurrently. But, he wasn’t stupid. I think he arranged his dalliances with the help of his close aides. Discretion was key. I’m sure he enjoyed the view, Margo!

Liz Smith: George Clooney as Sinatra?

Oh and Liz, I think Lindsay has bigger obstacles than just pining over an old girlfriend. Ahem ..

Liz Smith: George Clooney as Sinatra?

You can’t cast someone who is too well known or it will be "Clooney playing Sinatra" instead of an actor "being" Sinatra. That’s why "Ray" worked with Jamie Foxx, because he wasn’t well known then and melted into the role. Harry Connick Jr. has the look (and voice) but is too "movie of the week". I think this will need a star in the making!

What Elizabeth Edwards's Hairstylist Knows About John

Yes, and also, how can she say the paternity of that child has nothing to do with her life? It could have a huge impact on her childrens’ future and, given her illness, this is a future that may not include her. Doesn’t she owe it to them to make this issue part of her life? I personally could not have stayed with that man, but will not judge her on that.

At Chic Upper East Side Schools, The Rich Are Still Really Different From You and Me, by Emily Listfield

I think it’s all about your attitude going in. If you scrape together the money because you feel it truly is the best possible educational option for your child, then more power to you. But if you go in thinking this will be your foray into "their" world, you will be sorely disappointed (and your children will be more so). My sister has sent her daughter to an exclusive private girls’ school and they all have the "wannabe" attitude. Guess what? If you’re not in, you’re not in. Scraping together the tuition each year won’t do it. They can smell an outsider a mile away. It’s been very tough for her, but still they desperately carry on, hoping for acceptance.

Beth Levine: An Influential Designer's Life in Shoes (Photos)

Yep, they are all way ahead of their time. Or is it that each generation thinks they’ve invented style? Hmmm.

Liz Smith: It's Fun to Obsess With Beyoncé and to Party With Renée Zellweger

Hmm .. I’ve racked my brain but can’t figure out where CPW is. Any ideas? Must be either near NYC or LA.

Ann Landers’s 'Ray of Sunshine' to Daughter Margo Howard

I spent time with your mother every day growing up. Think of a little girl in the 70s, on the floor with the paper (Toronto Star) spread out in front of her, reading Ann Landers each day. I learned alot about relationships, the sometimes rarity of common sense and that wonderful edict "think about whether your life would be better or worse without him". Thank you for this lovely memory. I lost my mom when I was 25 and, although we didn’t have the best relationship, it is a big void.

Billy Norwich and FIT's Valerie Steele Discuss Michelle Obama's Innovative Style

Jackie Kennedy was highly criticized for not wearing American. She solved the problem by having Oleg Cassini retained as her coutourier. He was technically American, but designed in the French style she loved.

Dear Margo: Facing Facts

Letter #2 .. build in time and spin it to the child like this: "I’m lucky because Dad is sometimes late and that means I get more time with you!"

Lesley Stahl: My Hair Is Sprayed With Cement!

I can’t stand any goop or spray in my hair. I have very thick, very straight hair and I cut and style it myself. I have never had a stylist do what I want, so I finally gave up, bought some good scissors and just cut my own.

Rembrandt? Picasso? O'Keeffe? Tell us: Who is your favorite artist?

There is another amazing tulip festival in Ottawa Canada in May!

A Beauty Editor's 11 Things to NEVER Do (If You Want to Look Young)

I’ve never looked good in red lipstick, so no problem. The rest make sense. The arm thing is so true. I’m off to the Caribbean and I bought an ivory coloured sheer shrug to wear with all the sleeveless dresses and tops. Argh.
