Liz Smith: Anne Hathaway as Holly Golightly? Bruce and Cybill 'Moonlighting'? Stiller and Wahlberg – Joining Forces?

Now I’m curious…..was Holly merely an “escort” in the truest sense of the word?

ACC,S,EB: Did you catch Ann on The View today? Very interesting, to say the least.

Margo introduced me to Wow and I’ve enjoyed the site immensely. I can’t wait to read Margo’s column here.

Idaho Man Charged After Daughter Freezes to Death

Walk ten miles? I wouldn’t let children walk ten miles in nice weather, let alone in wintertime.

Santa Claus? Yes, Says Liz Smith

Shame on the Scrooges I work for wealthy people (more than 50) and hustle year round for them. This year I received only ONE Christmas gift from the lot of them. I can’t help but think they are using the current economy as an excuse to be Scrooges. I gave gifts to many people this year who perform services like the parking lot attendant, the office cleaner, etc. and I’m not weathly by anyone’s standards. People should be remembered at Christmastime. Shame on the Scrooges—following the laws of reciprocity, the tighter they clench their fists the more their own blessings will dry up.

What Christmas carol says it all for you this year?

Silver Bells….is a beautiful Christmas song.

Rick Warren Reinventing Anti-Gay Image Amid Uproar

It appears that Obama is a poor judge of pastors. I hope his judgment in other areas isn’t so poor.

Clintons Moving to Block Caroline Kennedy's Senate Bid

Say What? ” Hillary’s campaign never fully recovered”? How dare you take such liberties with the truth. Hillary won more votes than Obama. The delegates’ support of Obama are what cost Clinton the nomination. The Kennedy’s endorsements had nothing to do with it. Most people look at Ted Kennedy’s support as a negative. He ressurrected his entire shady past when he endorsed Obama and I personally had to listen to the Republicans take post shots at him for weeks after that. You say her campaign never fully recovered? Then why did she garner more votes than Obama? If she had lost at the poles after the Kennedy’s endorsements then you might have a point, otherwise I suggest your point is completely wrong. First the team of Ted and Caroline Kennedy helped tank Hillary Clinton’s presidential bid by throwing their weight behind Barack Obama. Caroline’s stunning January 2008 endorsement letter carried a line that stopped the heart of the nation: “I have never had a president inspire me the way people tell me that my father inspired them. But for the first time, I believe I have found the man who could be that president — not just for me, but for a new generation of Americans.” Hillary’s campaign never fully recovered.

Linda Tripp Rips 'Secretary of State' Hillary Clinton

To be honest, I had thought that (sadly) Linda Tripp died of cancer. I was surprised to find ot that she is still alive today. Perhaps she failed to learn that toxic thoughts and resentments can hinder her recovery from cancer.

Linda Tripp Rips 'Secretary of State' Hillary Clinton

Hillary is brilliant and I am sure we are in capable hands. I would prefer that Hillary were president because she is more politically experienced and more wisened than Obama is. She’s had a calling on her life since a young girl to help children which she has been faithful to all these years. Michele Obama wants to take her first year as First Lady to acclimate her children to life in Washington. In comparison, at day one, First Lady Hillary Clinton tried to overhaul the entire health care system in America. She failed to recognize that even as First Lady her hands would be tied when trying to change the insurance and health care industries. Hillary should not be faulted for having ambition. I had always believed that she was even smarter than Bill was, and that the future held great things. She didn’t disappoint me when she ran for Senate and won, and ran for President and (technically) won (receiving more popular votes than Obama). Hillary proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that she is ready to be President, Secretary of State, or whatever office she chooses. When she acquiesed to Obama after the primaries and readily joined his team with the goal of having unity in the party to move forward in changing the current administration. Hillary proved to all of us that she doesn’t wear her heart on her sleeve, she makes decisions based on intellect, fact and reason. She doesn’t fall apart under disappointment or pressure. She, in fact, held it together and did what was best for the country. That is the best quality we can have in our leader and few of those in office can live up to that high ideal. Linda Tripp’s comments come off as mean and crass.

They say we need 7 - 8 hours of sleep each night, but who has time for that? How many hours of sleep do you get each night?

I have a work schedule that allows me to sleep in the morning. I never use an alarm clock, just wake up when I’ve had enough sleep. I generally sleep between 8 and 9 hours. My quality of life is very good due to the fact that I’m well rested. I wish more people could sleep in, and not just on the weekends. Too bad most businesses run on schedules set long ago for early American farmers. Why not have more evening hours and flex times for workers?

3 Steps to Living Well in a Dismal Economy, by Julie Morgenstern

I like all the suggestions except giving my “clutter” as gifts. A bad economy is no excuse to condone re-gifted clutter. lol.
