As serious as this economic downturn is, are we overreacting?
The worst radio program to listen to is Coast-to-Coast AM. It will scare the pants off of you. The nightly guests there each describe their specific type of doom and gloom scenarios. One is worse than the last! Once in a while a positive person will come on and offer encouragement or talk about guardian angels and such.
In light of these facts, I have to admit to listening to it by podcast online—since it airs during the wee hours of the morning, I listen to it the day after each broadcast.

It's Friday the 13th. Does this date spook you?
Years ago, a friend and I were watching To Kill A Mockingbird. He had never seen the movie before. Earlier that day we had laughingly agreed that "Robert Duvall was in every movie that was ever made". At the end of the movie when the character Boo Radley was revealed hiding behind the door…we both looked closely and sure enough, it was Robert Duvall….too funny.

Liz Smith: What Is It About Rachel Maddow's TV Success?
My comment was in regard to this post as well:
Rachel Maddow has a PhD in Political Science, never yells at people, is always polite, always equipped with facts, information and ready for intelligent discussion. THAT is what makes her so admired by people who want intelligence and civility from their political commentators.

That is precisely Rachel’s secret to success.

I watch Rachel and Olbermann. Olbermann has been skewering "Boss Limbaugh" and it’s hilarious.

Rise 'n' Shine: What is the first thing you think of when you wake up in the morning?
Wow, I have a twin! I could say exactly the same thing (well almost).
Since I’m a late night owl I usually sleep until 10:30 or 11:00, except the I am a morning zombie, and stumble about, not wanting to talk. then read some of my emails until enough time has passed for me to eat. Then I eat and read the paper while doing so. I generally don’t become human until early in the afternoon.
